Latest updates on Covid-19 in Syria

The ministry of health confirmed that the detected coronavirus cases are (4072) cases, (192) fatalities, (1062) recoveries, leaving (2818) active cases. It was also reported that (126) of these cases are healthcare workers, mainly in Damascus city. As the pandemic spreads, the number of tests exceeded 34,033 tests conducted in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs and Latakia where assigned laboratories are located. Although the number is increasing, but still the testing process is not efficient as the tests are currently conducted on people who are traveling and leaving the country. The real concern though is that Syria may only be counting 1.25% of its actual coronavirus deaths (according to the CBS news), and the figures the (MoH) is providing are far from reality. The future remains unknown for Syrians specially that schools and universities are reopening and all precautious measures are lifted for months now.
