Caritas poland Representative's visit to Syria

On the 19th of March, 2022, the Christian Hope center team in Damascus welcomed Caritas Poland’s Head of mission in Syria and Lebanon, Mr. Dominik Derlicki.

The visit included a tour of the Damascus Office, which is supported by Caritas Poland as one of the main partners, and some income-generating activities of local beneficiaries recently funded through the Micro-Projects program in the Syrian Capital.

Next stop was in Homs, Ozeir, A Hamra, and Maskaneh villages in the west and South-East of Homs visiting several micro-financed agricultural projects, in the context of supporting farm-based community whether by providing tool-kit, seedling, compost or by mitigating the impact of destructed infrastructure, especially water networks, which has a devastating impact on agriculture.

The visit ended in Aleppo, where the head office of Hope Center is located. Two of the biggest programs Caritas Poland supports; Family to Family and School to School, are also in Aleppo.

It is worth mentioning that, during his stay, Mr. Derlicki has met some of the Family to Family program partners and also visited the, at the time, ongoing Teachers’ capacity building training and awareness campaigns implemented in the partner schools as a part of the school to school program
