“Where words fail, music speaks.” That’s how George replied when we asked him about the reason behind his love for music. 

Since he was an 8-year-old, George was fascinated by music and the industry in general.

His parents decided to enroll him in a music institute where he chose to learn Cello, his love for music didn’t stop there, he used to go to his uncle’s studio to watch him produce music for many artists. After a short time, he started helping his uncle with his work for 15 years till the war started.

In 2011 George joined the army and served his country for 10 years, in this decade a lot changed; during this time, he lost many of his friends in the army and his family was in danger back home, it was very tough for him to go through all that by himself.

After finishing his service George found himself back at the starting point, not knowing what to do and where to head. Despite everything, he refused to give up and decided to follow his passion for music and try to turn it into a career.

With a big dream and lots of plans, he applied for the Micro-Projects program to get the support he needed to start. Now George has a small studio in which he records and produces music for many local artists.

when we are exposed to immense loss, we try to look for any small light in order to start a new chapter in life even if it is delayed; Hilda started working in knitting and she was sending the pieces that need a stitch and a knit to a sewing shop, as she does not have the necessary machines, which was for her a waste of time and great difficulty in receiving a larger number of customers, so Hilda decided to apply to the center to develop her small project in home sewing, in order to save time and increase her family's income.

Corona came to be one of the most difficult periods he went through; it kept him away from his work and family, but as Elias said:  "Our Mother Mary did not abandon me and helped me overcome this ordeal." Elias now works as a guard in a private school in Aleppo with a low salary, he wants to improve his income, so he decided to apply for a taxi, which he sees as a strong source in order to meet the requirements of life and his family's expenses.

At the end of the meeting Elias said that his dream is to be able to buy a taxi so he can be more financially independent, and he achieved this dream to be his first strong step in the face of life hardships.

Fadi’s family suffered a lot during the war, especially in the first years as Fadi is a resident of the village of Al-Jadeeda in the Idlib countryside, which is one of the Christian villages in the city of Idlib. He was displaced with his family from the village after they were besieged by armed groups.

At the beginning of the war in 2011, Fadi volunteered to defend his land against the armed groups, then He was discharged from the army in 2021 after serving for ten years.

Before the war, Fadi worked in the aluminum craft in his village. He had a shop since 2004, but he lost it afyer leaving the village towards Kasab. In his last years of service, he worked in this profession during his spare hours intending to return to it after service..

After his discharge, he moved to Aleppo to settle there and began working in the aluminum field, but his income was not enough to secure the family’s needs, and he strived hard to start his project to secure a sufficient source of income for his family.

The Micro Projects Program was able to fulfill this family's dream of stability, and Fadi now has his own shop, which will enable him to provide a decent life for his family.

Elias held-on to hope, his many losses during the war did not disappoint him, and despite the suffering of life, he was not satisfied with his little income, he kept searching for an opportunity to improve his situation and a ray of hope that would change his life; for him it was a taxi that he would work on after his shift to help him secure a better income, Elias applied for micro projects and upon approval his joy was indescribable. She had a strong desire to open her own center, specializing in following up the conditions of pregnant women and also cases of growth in children, diabetes, in addition to Botox injections in the stomach to treat obesity. 

The war was harsh on Samar and her family, in 2013 her husband was kidnapped and they had tp pay a ransom of  5000$, her husband's factory was robbed in 2014, the family was also displaced to Latakia because their area of residence was unsafe, Samar did not despair despite all the hardships, she was able to work in the National Hospital in Latakia for 3 years and then returned to Aleppo in 2019

Ammar, a devoted husband and father of three from Qattinah village, balances his roles as both a farmer and a modestly paid employee. His land, rich with vegetables, potatoes, and olive trees, sustains his family's livelihood.

However, the costly task of plowing and spraying his fields burdened him. Renting a tractor drained his finances until a turning point arrived with the acquisition of a mini-cultivator. 

This simple tool improved his farming routine, saving him the high expenses. Now, Ammar tends to his farming tasks with ease, knowing he can plow his land whenever necessary without financial strain. 

In Qattinah village, With Talal's dual role as an employee and farmer, and Laila's dedication as a teacher, they raised their two children while also caring for Talal's elderly parents, all under one roof.

As Talal approached retirement, his farm became his lifeline. But when the ravages of war stole his spray irrigation system, his livelihood was in danger; with a water well and pump, and a pond, the land was ready, but the loss threatened their sustenance. Each day became a struggle as he resorted to watering his crops with a spade, a laborious task that couldn't match the efficiency of the lost system.

Yet, hope flickered when the Micro Projects Program supported him with the needed irrigation system, offering a stability to his family's life.

Yet, hope flickered in the form of the Micro Projects Program, where he sought aid to restore his dreams. He applied for a solar power and irrigation systems, envisioning a future where his land flourishes once more.

Amidst the olive trees and vegetable crops, Alaa's resilience bloomed. With the installation of solar panels and an efficient irrigation system, his land came to life.

With determination, she sought assistance from the Micro Projects Program to strengthen her shop and enhance their living conditions. As her sons pursue their education, she aims to provide them with a nurturing environment while supporting her husband's efforts. 

Through the program's aid, Karima's hard work shines as she strives to build a better future for her family, overcoming all the obstacles together. 

In the village of Qattinah, Ghazwan and Sabah, hardworking parents of 2 sons, strive to provide for their family. With modest incomes, Ghazwan, hailing from a lineage of farmers, inherited his father's land. Yet, the lack of a water pump rendered the well useless, and the soaring costs of plowing drained their earnings.

But hope sprouted when assistance arrived. A newfound water pump revitalized their land, ensuring efficient irrigation. Additionally, the mini-cultivator promised enhanced productivity, paving the path for bountiful seasons ahead. With these tools in hand, he can nurture his land, securing a brighter future for his family.

He applied to the Micro Projects Program, as the sole breadwinner, his land is the family's lifeline. The program's assistance made a transformation in his land, renovating the irrigation system. His fields flourished, securing a bountiful harvest. Now, with improved conditions, Majed ensures a stable future for his family.

Mirna and Suleiman manage together a Coffee and Chocolate shop, which serves as their family's lifeline. Despite Mirna's role as a dedicated school teacher and Suleiman's commitment to his employment, their journey wasn’t easy. .

These tough circumstances led Mirna to seek assistance from the Micro Projects Program, because even with having a coffee grinder and freezer, the shop remained in need for goods due to the huge inflation.

 With the support, the shop's inventory was restored, ensuring shelves filled with delights. Now, with renewed optimism, they continue to serve their community, and ensure their three children a better living.

Back in 2010, Samir used to own an optical shop, before the hand of terrorism reached it, costing him all that he built for long years. After losing everything, he was forced to start all over; He began working as a driver on the Lebanese-Syrian road, but disaster struck one year later when the border was closed due to covid, Samir was jobless again.

He didn’t give up, he tried to work in a Mosaic workshop in the mornings and drive a taxi in the evening for six months but the taxi owner took the car back, leading him to start the job as a valet at a hotel.

Samir also had a mother-in-law to take care of, who unfortunately passed away after she lost her battle with cancer.  He had to pay for her treatment costs. He and his family lived in her small house to save the rent money.

Now, through the Micro Project program, Samir will be supplied with a taxi to make money to support his family and pay off accumulated debts.

Despite his constant struggles, Wasef has a family to support. He has four kids, and his daughter, suffered from Thrombocytopenia, a blood disorder that required extensive treatment. The income from Wasef's retirement salary was barely enough, and what his son was earning from work was insignificant.

The family was facing financial difficulties and had to resort to selling some of their belongings to survive. Things were not easy for Wasef and his family, but they kept their spirits up and remained hopeful.

One day, Wasef applied to get a mini-van from a micro-project program in Damascus. The minivan would radically improve his life and that of his family. For six months, Riad searched for work with little success. But then he found a friend with a pickup truck that needed fixing up, and he spent a couple of months working on it. It wasn't the work he had been trained to do, but it was something. And then he changed to driving a taxi. He started driving part-time then turn it into his career.

With the support of the micro-project in Damascus, Riad is funded to buy his own taxi. It was a life-changing moment for him. He no longer had to pay rent for the taxi, and now he is able to work full-time, earning enough money to support his family and even help his sisters.

It wasn't the life he had imagined for himself, but Riad is grateful for what he have; his health, his family, and a job that provides for them.

Rawad returned home, but things didn't get easier for him. He had to share a small room with his brother, who works in a mobile shop, in their grandparents' house in Damascus after they lost the family house. It was a far cry from the life Rawad had hoped for after his army service.

However, he was determined to make a new start. He started working on a pickup truck to transport fresh vegetables from his hometown to the markets in Damascus, hoping to make a good profit. It was tough work as he had to pay high rent for the truck owner which made him lose a lot from his profit.

Through Micro-project program in Damascus, he was funded by a pickup truck, with his new truck, Rawad is able to take on twice as many deliveries, increasing his profit and giving him the opportunity to provide for his future in a much more comfortable way. He could even deliver food and supplies to local markets

Despite everything that Rawad had gone through, he never gave up. He knew that life could be tough, but with hard work and determination, there is always a chance for a better future.

Danny's willpower and determination never faded away. With the help of the micro-project in Damascus, he got funded by Taxi. He doesn’t need to pay rent and lose a significant amount of what he made anymore. His mother is still recovering from the shock of the attack, but she's happy to see her son recovering.

Danny's family are proud of him. He's been through so much, but he's still standing tall. Danny never gave up; he fought against all the odds and proved that miracles come true if you work hard and never lose hope.
