Zawin is a hardworking person who strive for his family; his wife and two sons.

Zawin has been working in the production and upholstery of cars since 2005 and has added through his experience in the production of Arab Majlis seating. Zawin had to make a lot of sacrifices in his work, 5 years ago the place where he works was exposed to a fire that resulted in the loss of all existing equipment and goods. 

Living a decent life and supporting his family has become a constant struggle for Zawin, which forced him to borrow a machine from one of his friends in order for the family to survive, and he also works in a factory for the production and upholstery of car furnishing, his permanent goal in life is to obtain complete and permanent independence.

Zawin felt very grateful and joyful for the support, today he is motivated to achieve his goal in life and help his family to secure a dignified living. 

“Where words fail, music speaks.” That’s how George replied when we asked him about the reason behind his love for music. 

Since he was an 8-year-old, George was fascinated by music and the industry in general.

His parents decided to enroll him in a music institute where he chose to learn Cello, his love for music didn’t stop there, he used to go to his uncle’s studio to watch him produce music for many artists. After a short time, he started helping his uncle with his work for 15 years till the war started.

In 2011 George joined the army and served his country for 10 years, in this decade a lot changed; during this time, he lost many of his friends in the army and his family was in danger back home, it was very tough for him to go through all that by himself.

After finishing his service George found himself back at the starting point, not knowing what to do and where to head. Despite everything, he refused to give up and decided to follow his passion for music and try to turn it into a career.

With a big dream and lots of plans, he applied for the Micro-Projects program to get the support he needed to start. Now George has a small studio in which he records and produces music for many local artists.

George is married and has worked in the carpentry profession since childhood with more than 40 years of experience, he had a full workshop with a kit, but because of the war he lost the workshop with the entire equipment, unfortunately, he cannot return to his former work area because its still under control of armed groups.

During war his home was exposed to a shell explosion, which led to great damage to the house, as a result, the family was displaced for more than 10 years. 

Because of his great experience in His profession and his desire to develop his business, George applied to the Micro Projects in order to buy a machine that helps him save time and increase his income, George launched his project and added new models to his work that helped him bring new customers, which led to an increase in his monthly profits.

The Micro Projects Program was able to achieve one of George's goals, to help him strive to work harder and develop faster. 

Hilda is a lovely married woman who works in the church and her husband works as a driver for the church as well, because of the difficult life that Syrian families are going through, Hilda's family went through harsh conditions, which led to financial burdens, the earthquak made things worse because their house was greatly damaged.

when we are exposed to immense loss, we try to look for any small light in order to start a new chapter in life even if it is delayed; Hilda started working in knitting and she was sending the pieces that need a stitch and a knit to a sewing shop, as she does not have the necessary machines, which was for her a waste of time and great difficulty in receiving a larger number of customers, so Hilda decided to apply to the center to develop her small project in home sewing, in order to save time and increase her family's income.

Micro Projects Program was able to help Hilda to be able to take a step forward in her field of work and to overcome the difficulties she faces in her daily life. 

Elias is an example of the patient and strong father who faces life’s challenges for his family, Elias is married and has two sons, one of whom is serving in military, life challenged Elias differently at each stage, in the period of war he was displaced from his home, and his son was exposed to a war injury during his mandatory service time. 

Corona came to be one of the most difficult periods he went through; it kept him away from his work and family, but as Elias said:  "Our Mother Mary did not abandon me and helped me overcome this ordeal." Elias now works as a guard in a private school in Aleppo with a low salary, he wants to improve his income, so he decided to apply for a taxi, which he sees as a strong source in order to meet the requirements of life and his family's expenses.

At the end of the meeting Elias said that his dream is to be able to buy a taxi so he can be more financially independent, and he achieved this dream to be his first strong step in the face of life hardships.

The years of war were not easy for Fadi's family, however, it didn't stop them from pursuing their dreams of living in peace and stability. Fadi’s family suffered a lot during the war, especially in the first years as Fadi is a resident of the village of Al-Jadeeda in the Idlib countryside, which is one of the Christian villages in the city of Idlib. He was displaced with his family from the village after they were besieged by armed groups.

At the beginning of the war in 2011, Fadi volunteered to defend his land against the armed groups, then He was discharged from the army in 2021 after serving for ten years.

Before the war, Fadi worked in the aluminum craft in his village. He had a shop since 2004, but he lost it afyer leaving the village towards Kasab. In his last years of service, he worked in this profession during his spare hours intending to return to it after service..

After his discharge, he moved to Aleppo to settle there and began working in the aluminum field, but his income was not enough to secure the family’s needs, and he strived hard to start his project to secure a sufficient source of income for his family.

The Micro Projects Program was able to fulfill this family's dream of stability, and Fadi now has his own shop, which will enable him to provide a decent life for his family.

Elias is a strong man who defied the difficulties of life for the sake of his family’s happiness despite all the harsh circumstances he went through. 

Elias is married and has three children, he suffered a lot during the war; he had a taxi in 2014, but unfortunately it was destroyed by a shell in 2016, despite the difficulty of the situation he was able to overcome this incident for the sake of his children and started working as a driver for a local institution with a modest salary.

Elias held-on to hope, his many losses during the war did not disappoint him, and despite the suffering of life, he was not satisfied with his little income, he kept searching for an opportunity to improve his situation and a ray of hope that would change his life; for him it was a taxi that he would work on after his shift to help him secure a better income, Elias applied for micro projects and upon approval his joy was indescribable. Today Elias looks forward to starting a new life chapter full of hope and blessings.

Naeem is an example of strong personality who will face crises with positive adaptation without suppression or confusion, married and has two sons, he works in the field of sanitary installations, solar energy installation and electricity extension.

Naeem tried to develop himself in his domain of work despite all the difficulties and challenges he faced, he is a creative person who added with his experience of more than 15 years working in the field of central heating, he rented a shop in order to start a stable life and a small family. 

Despite many difficulties and the war that hit Aleppo, Naeem did not leave the city and remained working hard to secure a good future for his children, his house was damaged by the earthquake and he did not despair and was able to restore it.

Naeem applied for the necessary equipment which will help him increase his income and secure the needs of his family. He believes that everything will turn out for the best, and that tomorrow is more beautiful, Hopefully this project will be the beginning of beautiful days for him and his family.

Samar is a mother of three children and a clinical nutritionist, she obtained her degree in food technical engineering from the city of Aleppo, and works in the field of food engineering in several clinics affiliated with the churches. 

Samar is a persistent woman; despite all the difficulties and challenges, she completed her studies during war, and did not give up her childhood dream. She had a strong desire to open her own center, specializing in following up the conditions of pregnant women and also cases of growth in children, diabetes, in addition to Botox injections in the stomach to treat obesity. 

The war was harsh on Samar and her family, in 2013 her husband was kidnapped and they had tp pay a ransom of  5000$, her husband's factory was robbed in 2014, the family was also displaced to Latakia because their area of residence was unsafe, Samar did not despair despite all the hardships, she was able to work in the National Hospital in Latakia for 3 years and then returned to Aleppo in 2019 

Samar applied to the center to get support for her project with the needed devices. The new phase in Samar's life has now begun with ambition and determination to continue her passion in life

Dr. Ghassan have been working in the clinic for more than 30 years, he has extensive experience in the field of dentistry, his work was greatly affected during the war because his place was exposed to a lot of shells, and when the area became safe, he decided to develop his clinic's devices because the equipment was worn-out that it became dilapidated.

The earthquake destroyed all Ghassan’s dreams for the enhancement of his clinic and his house from which he and his family were able to get out safe and sound, and because life must go on, Ghassan decided to submit an application in order to develop his project with support from the Micro Projects.

Ghassan held-on to hope despite all the difficulties of life that he faced in the past, the strength that he possesses despite all the challenges and crises that he went through, his patience and will can overcome every painful hardship.

Dr. Ghassan launched his project with the new devices that helped him develop the clinic and achieve part of his dreams that he patiently longed for. 

Since childhood, Masses has been ambitious snd creative, he works in the field of women's hairdressing, his profession depends on good taste in order to satisfy customers, he has practiced this profession since childhood with at least 30 years of experience, Masses wants to develop his long-standing project, however, the equipment that he has is old and worn out due to daily use but he cannot afford a new set. 

“in our days the generator fees is consuming our inccome but we cannot work without it”.

Masses decided to work on an alternative plan in order to reduce this attrition and bring a generator that helps him increase his income from the project, and he also applied for the support of the necessary equipment.

Masses overcame all the difficulties he faced in his field of work economically and even in terms of the crisis he went through after his house was damaged by the earthquake, which was severe damage that prevented him from returning to his home, which is considered unsafe for hsbitstion to this day, All these difficulties increased his determination to move forward with a smile of hope facing all life challenges.

Shant is a passionate person, aspiring to be proficient in his work, self-reliant, in order to secure a decent life for his family; Shant is married and a father of two, he works day and night for the wellness of his family.

Shant works in the profession of car spraying, and has extensive experience in this field, he currently works in a workshop but the equipment is not his, and the wage he receives is not commensurate with his experience and insufficient for the requirements of life.

During war people are exposed to many material and physical losses, this period was difficult for Shant, he lost his shop and equipment. His mother, father and sister were injured in the war, Shant wants to be independent in his work, so the idea of applying for his own project through the Micro Projects Support was a ray of hope, Shant started his project and is now working with passion and enthusiasm in order to achieve his life goals and take good care of his loving family.

Nouhad, a devoted wife and mother of three, resides in Fairouza village. While her third son pursues a brighter future abroad, she cares for her husband and two remaining sons. Her husband's health struggles, including diabetes, have rendered him unable to work, forcing her to take charge. 

With a simple shop, she embarked on a journey selling grains, spices, and her homemade traditional dishes. Her shop provides various spices, frozen meats, cheese, and snacks.

Yet, Nouhad's ambition sought more. Recognizing an opportunity, she envisioned the inclusion of a coffee grinder to elevate her offerings and a beans grinder to perfect her signature dish, "Kishik." As she sourced meat from Homs city and offered it frozen to her customers, she recognized the need for a solar power system to preserve her merchandises' freshness. With hope, she turned to the Micro Projects Program, seeking to improve her family's main source of livelihood and through innovation, she paints a portrait of hope and success.

In Qattinah village, brothers Wadih and Rabih were partners in a project that revolved around their shared love for farming and fishing. They resided in their family home with their parents while their brother, Rol, is serving his mandatory military service.

Rabih had dedicated eight years of his life to serving in the army. Meanwhile, Wadih traveled to Lebanon in pursuit of improving his family's circumstances. However, the unstable situation there compelled him to return home in 2018.

With their land lovingly cultivated with a variety of crops; potatoes, wheat, beans, and corn, the family's primary livelihood came from farming and fishing in the nearby lake of Qattinah. The nature of fishing brought challenges, affected by ever-changing weather conditions and the strict three-month ban for breeding. To ensure their income during the fishing off-seasons, agriculture was their essential work.

One major hindrance to their farming activities was the well on their land. The brothers lacked the means to acquire a water pump, rendering the well useless. Instead, they relied on dragging water from their neighbor's land and storing it in a pond they constructed themselves. This solution proved impractical, and they sought a better way to water their crops.

Hope arrived when they learned about the Micro Projects Program, they applied for assistance to obtain a water pump for their well, a solar power system to operate the pump, and an irrigation network to efficiently water their crops.

Finally, their application was approved, and the brothers' dreams started taking root. With the new water pump and irrigation network in place, they could efficiently water their fields, ensuring bountiful harvests. The solar energy powered the pump, relieving them of their tiring water-dragging routine.

Hala's determination to make a difference in her community was unwavering. With a master's degree in dermatology from the University of Aleppo, she was dedicated to providing the best healthcare. Married to Elie, a hardworking lawyer, and with two young children, Danny and Faya, she had the loving support she needed.

Her rented clinic in the heart of Homs city center, where she offered treatments and skincare's services. But she knew she could do more. 

Eager to improve her clinic, she applied to the Micro Projects Program.With the support, Hala acquired a dermatology microscope, enabling her to diagnose illnesses. Additionally, the program provided a Sterilization Machine, empowering her to perform simple operations at the clinic, ensuring her patients received comprehensive care. The new skin care devices she received as part of the program expanded her services, attracting more clients and establishing her clinic as a trusted healthcare destination.

As her clinic flourished, Hala's passion for her work only grew. The better-equipped clinic meant she could provide even better care to her patients, bringing smiles to their faces. Now, Hala and Elie could focus on nurturing their children's dreams and building a brighter future together.

Yazan and his family have faced many challenges due to the devastating war that tore their city apart. Once living in the vibrant Bustan Al-Diwan neighborhood, they lost everything they owned during the conflict. Now, they reside in a modest rented apartment, striving to rebuild their lives from scratch.

He is a devoted husband and father, works diligently to provide for his family. During the day, he serves as an accountant for a local trader, ensuring the financial stability of the business. In the evenings, he manages his small mini-market, which he established in 2019. His close friend, who unfortunately has a health condition that impedes his ability to walk, assists him in running the shop.

Despite its prime location in front of a school, Yazan's mini-market has been adversely affected by soaring inflation. The inflationary pressures have resulted in a reduced supply of goods, affecting the diversity and availability of products in his store.

In an effort to revitalize his mini-market, he decided to apply for assistance through the Micro Projects Program. He hoped to expand his inventory by procuring additional goods, such as a variety of juices, and introducing a freezer for ice cream. Additionally, he aimed to enhance the display capacity of his shop by incorporating more shelves. Understanding the importance of sustainability, Yazan also sought to install a solar power system to operate the freezer efficiently.

With these improvements, Yazan believed that the sales rate of his mini-market would substantially increase. The proximity of the shop to the school would attract a steady stream of young customers seeking snacks and refreshments. The inclusion of new products and the upgraded infrastructure would cater to their needs, ultimately contributing to the growth and profitability of the business.

With the program's support, he envisioned a brighter future not only for his mini-market but also for his wife, Hiba, their two-year-old baby, Rayan, and his beloved mother. The potential success of his business would offer them stability and the means to rebuild their lives after the ravages of war.

Philip and his loving wife, Siham, raised their three children with great care and dedication in their home village Qattinah. He had a long career at the laboratory of Homs University, serving diligently until his retirement in 2017. Since then, he embraced farming as his new passion.

However, life wasn't easy as he was the sole provider for his family. His main source of income was his land, where he cultivated wheat during winter and vegetables during summer. The main difficulty he faced was the lack of irrigation for his crops. His broken pump prevented him from accessing the much-needed water from the well on his land.

To overcome this challenge, Philip applied to the Micro Projects Program, seeking assistance in acquiring a new pump. With this pump, he could extract water for his own land and also provide water to his brother's nearby farm.

Through the program's support, his dream became a reality. The once thirsty land flourished with life, and his crops thrived under the nourishing water. 

Hanna, a retired driver and farmer from Qattinah village, had spent most of his life working hard to provide for his family. He lived with his loving wife and their 33-year-old quadriplegic daughter, who required constant care and attention.

His livelihood depended on the land he owned, which was planted with wheat and summer crops such as potatoes. However, maintaining his crops required regular spraying of pesticides and fertilizers, a task that proved to be a financial burden for him. Since he didn't have his own tanker and sprayer, he had to rent them, paying high prices each time.

Determined to improve his situation, Hanna decided to seek assistance from the Micro Projects Program. He submitted an application, explaining his need for a tanker and spraying equipment. He hoped that this support would alleviate the high rental costs he had been burdened with and increase his income.

Fortunately, his application was successful, and Hanna received the tanker and spraying equipment he needed. With these tools at his disposal, he no longer had to rely on costly rentals. He could now efficiently spray his crops with pesticides and fertilizers whenever necessary, improving the health and productivity of his land.

The savings from renting expenses will allow Hanna to invest in other areas of his farming operations, further enhancing his income. 

Elian's journey has been marked by hardship and responsibility. As the eldest son, he carries the weight of his family's welfare on his shoulders. His father's injury from the war left him with an artificial leg, and his left leg is riddled with fragments. With his father unable to work, Elian took it upon himself to provide for his parents and younger brother in their home village of Qattinah.

After completing high school, he embarked on a two-year stint at a factory. Seeking better opportunities, he ventured to Erbil in 2019. However, his father's deteriorating health and the needs of his family compelled him to return home before long.

In 2021, Elian made his way back to his family's land, a valuable source of livelihood comprising grapes, olives, wheat, and other crops. The war that erupted in 2011 had ravaged the land, leading to theft of irrigation supplies and crops. A portion of the once-thriving trees had been reduced to ashes.

He faced financial constraints that prevented him from procuring the necessary machinery. He resorted to renting a tractor for plowing, which burdened his limited resources. Additionally, he had to manually spray the trees due to the lack of funds for purchasing the required equipment.

In his quest for assistance, Elian turned to the Micro Projects Program. He applied with the hope of obtaining a mini-cultivator that would alleviate the costs of plowing. This crucial tool would enable him to tend to his land whenever necessary, while other much-needed implements would enhance the overall condition of his property and improve crop yields.

Elian's determination to support his family and revive their land showcases his resilience and devotion. With the support of the Micro Projects Program, he envisions a brighter future, where the burden on his shoulders is lightened, and his family's sustenance is secured. Through his unwavering efforts, he strives to reclaim what was lost and cultivate a prosperous future for his loved ones in the village he proudly calls home.

Bassel, a determined young man from Homs, has always had a passion for barbering. At the age of 18, he began his journey in a barbershop, honing his skills. However, his plans were interrupted when he had to fulfill his mandatory military service, which lasted over nine long years.

After completing his service in 2022, he landed a job at a reputable salon in Homs city. He saved every Pound with a dream to open his own barbershop, knowing his skills and experience could make it a success.

Despite his hard work, the country's tough economic situation made it difficult for him to start his project alone. His determination led him to rent a shop in Al-Hamidia neighborhood. He decided to apply for the Micro Projects Program, hoping for some needed support.

Fortunately, his efforts paid off, and he received the support he needed to launch his own barbershop. With the equipment in place and his skills ready, Bassel's dream turned into reality.

Saadeh Nader, born in 1993, is married and residing in a rented house in Kashkoul with his parents.

Saadeh's professional journey began in the printing industry. Initially working in a print shop in Safita, he later ventured into freelance graphic design, harnessing his skills in graphic design from 2016 to 2020. Despite setbacks, including the closure of his father's marketplace, Saadeh remained resilient.

In 2020, he moved to Damascus and secured employment at Food Products Company, where he honed his graphic design skills further. 

Despite the challenges that the country was going through which reflected negatively on his financial condition, Saadeh's entrepreneurial spirit remained undeterred. With his expertise in graphic design and printing, he envisioned a printing center that offers a variety of services, from printing cards and documents to thermal printing on magnets and pillows, Saadeh felt that he possessed the technical knowledge needed to manage his own printing center.

He gathered his courage and applied to the Micro-Project program in Damascus. Today, after the fund, Saadeh had his own source of living that helped to improve his conditions, provide a decent livelihood for his parents, and promise him of better livelihood. 

Osama Dawod hails from the war-torn region of Al-Zabadani, where destruction marred the landscape, leaving his family's home in ruins, forcing them to leave due to escalating violence, and settle in Bloudan holding onto hope and resilience.

However, despite financial constraints hindering his education, Osama's determination never wavered. He worked tirelessly, learning how to make Western snacks and grilled meals.

During that period, he took on various jobs to support his household, from working as a kitchen assistant to packing relief supplies, insisting on preserving a decent livelihood during the terrible years of war.

In 2021, he moved to Damascus, where he worked in a restaurant as a sous chef. However, his aspirations soared beyond the kitchen. With a vision to create a unique snack venture, Osama aspired to establish his own snack bar, offering a variety of sizzling sandwiches on a griddle. His desire for a better future propelled him forward to apply to the Micro-Project Center asking for support.

Today, through his hard work, determination, and unwavering faith, and by the support he had from Hope Center to establish his own project, Osama transformed challenges into opportunities, igniting hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Youssef Halaweh was born in 1989 in Dwalaa, Damascus city, his father, once a photographer, planted in him a passion for artistic expression to become a talented hairdresser.

Youssef's career as a hairstylist began in 2010, initially focusing on women's hairdressing before transitioning to work as a hairstylist for presenters on television channels like Talaqi and Sama. Despite the professional success, his personal life was fraught with difficulty as his mother battled breast cancer and the financial condition of his family was declining.

In 2016, driven by ambition and seeking new horizons, Youssef ventured to Lebanon. For four years, he plied his career, providing hairstyling services while shouldering the financial burden of his mother's treatment. Amidst the upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to Syria in 2020, where he continued his journey as a hairstylist despite his father's unemployment and his mother's ongoing battle, Youssef remained steadfast in his commitment to his career and his family seeking an opportunity to start his own hairdressing salon where he could be his own boss and has the chance to show his skills and improve his income.

With help from Hope Center, Youssef was able to equip his salon with essential tools and an electricity generator to start a new chapter of his life, full of determination and hope for a better future.

Meneam Salloum's life was marked by hardships but with his strong determination he was able to rise above all the challenges he faced.

he is living in Al-Abbasein with his retired father and two brothers, and together they faced numerous setbacks from losing his mother to grappling with unstable security conditions during the crisis, but he never let circumstances define him. 

Before the war started, he was working at his own shoe-making workshop in Jobar, but after few months of the war, the area was subjected to numerous incidents and his workshop was burgled making him lose everything he worked for in the previous years.

unfortunately, when Meneam decided to move his work to his living area in Al-Abbasein, he was sniped in the flank which put him in bed for several months until he recovered.

after that incident, Meneam decided to quit his profession and started working at cars office and then as a taxi driver, and later becoming a salesperson at shoes store, trying his best to afford the livelihood demands for his family and preserve their dignity.

Despite all financial strains that Meneam and his family faced, Yet he refused to succumb to despair, so he applied for the pick-up project at the Micro Project center.

Receiving funding for his project marked a new chapter—one filled with possibilities. It wasn't merely about starting a business; it symbolized resilience, hope, and the triumph of the human strong will over calamities.

Rafy Al-Sahwy, born in 1982 and residing in Al-Dwalaa, faced numerous challenges in life. With his parents deceased and siblings married, he lived with his brother, striving to make ends meet. His journey through different jobs—from being a taxi driver to a private chauffeur and later distributing charcoal by bicycle—reflects his resilience amidst hardships.

The war and his father's illness forced Rafy to abandon his farming work at the village and return to live with his family in Damascus. Despite various setbacks, he ventured into charcoal distribution, utilizing a meager capital. However, soaring prices abruptly halted his work, leaving him with loss.

For Rafy, the taxi project he applied for, symbolized hope and stability in turbulent times, and having support to purchase his own taxi potentially rescued him from the brink of financial ruin.

It wasn't merely about financial gains for him; it was about reclaiming control over his life and promising a brighter tomorrow.

Jean Baghdady, born in 1997, lives with his family in Jaramana. His father, Antoun, works diligently as a maintenance worker at Saint Paul Monastery trying to put food on the table at the end of the day.

Jean's journey through work has been diverse; from volunteering at the UN in 2017 to becoming a photographer's assistant from 2018 until the present day, he has explored various professional avenues. Additionally, he has been employed as a receptionist at Alberto Monastery since 2021. Despite his workload, Jean managed to pursue accounting and marketing courses in 2019.

He commenced his career as a photographer in 2019, honing his skills and preparing to be an independent photographer full of ambitions to start his business alongside collaborating with other professionals, trying to gain as much experience as possible.

While their household and furnishings are modest, Jean's family supports him as he navigates his career path. Receiving support from Hope Center, marks a turning point for Jean, offering him the opportunity to expand his own business, enhance his skills, and elevate his income.

For Jean, this support isn't just financial aid—it's his life dream, propelling him towards independence and self-improvement to secure a better future for himself and his family.

Raneen Al-Eid is originally from Daraa, her journey took a turn when she shifted to Damascus to pursue her studies in commerce and economics back in 2010. However, her aspirations were rerouted as she got married in 2013.

Her husband worked in a cooling and refrigeration company, and he was trying his best to provide for his family but with the company closure, Raneen and her husband found themselves in the face of financial hardships.

With determination to support her family, Raneen started working as a saleswoman at a cosmetic store, from 2017 to 2021, during which she curved her skills by undertaking courses on nail care, hairdressing, and makeup at Al-Rida Institute, alongside project management at GOPA.

Unfortunately, Raneen's marriage faced severe storms that ended with separation to find herself living in a room, devoid of even the most basic amenities, with two children under her care.

Raneen's resilience shone through her relentless pursuit of self-improvement amid adversities illustrated by her unwavering spirit and her resolve to provide a better life for her kids propelled her towards a new endeavor; a makeup and nail care corner within her modest home, as soon as the idea took shape in her mind, she applied for support at the Micro Project program.

Today, after being supported to start her own project, Raneen is aware of the challenges and responsibilities ahead, but her spirit remains unyielding, driven by her love for her children and the pursuit of a brighter tomorrow.

Khalil Al-Assaf, 34, carried the weight of responsibilities on his young shoulders, anchored by the memories of his deceased father. His world orbited around his mother, and his siblings: a sister, born in 1986, a school teacher, and a brother, born in 1987, who dedicated himself to volunteer work at the Sacred Hearts.

His journey began during critical conditions as he was called for service in 2010, where he stayed until his discharge in 2020, scarred by shrapnel wounds rendering him unfit for any physical jobs.

Khalil started working as a wall painter with his friends but due to the lack of income and his health condition, he quit this career to work as a taxi driver, seeking stability for his family's household. 

Undeterred, Khalil spent most of his days behind the wheel of a taxi, yet, the relentless rise in the taxi rental charges kept him incapable of meeting the increasing living expenses.

Full of determination and strong faith, Khalil applied to the Micro Project Program for the taxi, longing for independence through work. Today, after the fund, Khalil is grateful for this opportunity he gained which will preserve his dignity.

Saleem Halal, 35, is a living fighter who didn't let the scars of war, the loss of his car, or the ashes of his family home in Maaloula to weaken his faith. Saleem lives with his mother who was a schoolteacher and his siblings: Georgina, born in 1991, now a receptionist at Zaituna Hotel, and Emad, born in 1997, toiling in air conditioner maintenance.

Saleem's path diverged when duty called in 2010, donning the uniform until 2021. His modest home nestled within the ancient walls of an old house, bore witness to his struggles and aspirations.

Post-service, he traversed through several jobs; he worked as a taxi driver for six months, but the high rent made him quit this job and turned to venture into a grocery store in Jaramana, which he started with army compensation. he even started to learn graphic design through YouTube, but his ambitions flickered due to inadequate resources, and finally, he started working at his friend's workshop.

Saleem was lost under the difficulties, all the jobs he experienced were not enough to match the expensive living demands. his solace was in having his own project that would help him to be independent and find his way in life.

With the help of Hope Center, Saleem was supported to purchase his own taxi paving a new promising path for himself and his family.

Adel Helal is a determined man who spent the last years struggling amidst the challenges of life; Adel's life took unexpected turn, from working as a teacher to navigating the streets as a taxi driver.

With a son named Steven and a career path marked by hardship, Adel faced setbacks that would test his resolve. Despite the theft of his car during Syria's crisis and the loss of his brother, he remained undeterred.

His discharge from the reserved service in 2021 was due to his brother’s death which marked Adel's life after that incident with sorrow and desperation. But his wife, Hala, stood by his side, offering financial support by teaching kids at home, and trying hard to weather life's storms together.

With the financial strain and uncertain conditions that Adel and his family were passing through, he refused to surrender to despair. So, he gathered his courage and determination, embarking on a quest for stability and dignity, by applying for support from the Micro Projects Center.

Adel's hopes soared as assistance arrived in the form of support to purchase a taxi of his own which wasn't just a vehicle for him; it was a beacon of new possibility, a lifeline for him and his family.

Nowadays, with each mile driven, his heart brimmed with gratitude and hope. The road ahead was uncertain, but with each journey, Adel's resolve grew stronger, illuminating the path toward a brighter tomorrow for himself, and his family.

In the middle of a crowded area named Kashkoul, amidst the echoes of war and the sounds of bombs, lies the tale of Hassam and his wife Sandrella. Their journey was marked by hardship and resilience, by their unwavering determination.

Married in 2019 amidst modest celebrations as they found solace in each other's hearts. Their home, scarred by two shelling incidents, stood as a testament to their endurance. after having their daughter, Valentina in 2021, their hopes intertwined with her innocent laughter.

Hassam was working in his father's taxi to afford the livelihood demands but in 2014 he was called for military service where he stayed for 9 years which forced his father to sell the car in order to afford the daily food especially since his father was old and unable to work.

Hussam was discharged in 2023, to find himself with no work or income so he started working as a janitor at a hotel waiting for better opportunities. 

Amidst his despair, a glimmer of hope emerged as he learned about Hope Center and applied for support to purchase a taxi through the Micro Projects program. The support he had bestowed upon him breathed life into his fading hopes. With his own taxi, Hassam reclaimed his sense of existing.

Today, with each turn of the wheel, Hassam is paving a path fueled by love and responsibility toward a brighter tomorrow.

Tareiz El-Shamas is a resilient woman who faced life's challenges with a strong heart and unwavering determination. Through the ups and downs of her marriage, which culminated in divorce in 2007, Tareiz embarked on a new journey, taking full responsibility for her two children, Tala and Issa. Despite the setbacks, she didn't hesitate to turn her passion and talent for cooking into a source of income.

Tareiz quickly garnered admirers with her delicious cooking, leading to her being hired as a cooking instructor for several associations and organizations. In 2012, Tareiz faced a tragedy as her ex-husband took her children away to Sweden, cutting her communication with them, but she held her deep sorrow inside her heart while tirelessly continuing her work.

Her motivation prompted her to attend multiple courses ranging from English language to nursing, life skills, first aid, and project management, utilizing every chance for self-development. Her immense maternal love translated into volunteering for a humanitarian project for cancer patients, where she joyfully prepared the healthiest and most nourishing meals for them.

with the economic downturn in the past few years and the rising of living costs in Syria, Tareiz resolved to redouble her efforts. She began accepting home-cooked meal orders, striving to secure a dignified livelihood.

When Tareiz learned about the Micro-Project program in Damascus, she wasted no time in applying for support to establish her own kitchen, where she could pursue her passion for cooking and attain independence in her work.

Today, having received the support she sought, Tareiz feels gratitude, having achieved her biggest dreams. Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience, determination, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity. Tareiz El-Shamas stands as an inspiration for courage and perseverance.
