Zawin is a hardworking person who strive for his family; his wife and two sons.

Zawin has been working in the production and upholstery of cars since 2005 and has added through his experience in the production of Arab Majlis seating. Zawin had to make a lot of sacrifices in his work, 5 years ago the place where he works was exposed to a fire that resulted in the loss of all existing equipment and goods. 

Living a decent life and supporting his family has become a constant struggle for Zawin, which forced him to borrow a machine from one of his friends in order for the family to survive, and he also works in a factory for the production and upholstery of car furnishing, his permanent goal in life is to obtain complete and permanent independence.

Zawin felt very grateful and joyful for the support, today he is motivated to achieve his goal in life and help his family to secure a dignified living. 

“Where words fail, music speaks.” That’s how George replied when we asked him about the reason behind his love for music. 

Since he was an 8-year-old, George was fascinated by music and the industry in general.

His parents decided to enroll him in a music institute where he chose to learn Cello, his love for music didn’t stop there, he used to go to his uncle’s studio to watch him produce music for many artists. After a short time, he started helping his uncle with his work for 15 years till the war started.

In 2011 George joined the army and served his country for 10 years, in this decade a lot changed; during this time, he lost many of his friends in the army and his family was in danger back home, it was very tough for him to go through all that by himself.

After finishing his service George found himself back at the starting point, not knowing what to do and where to head. Despite everything, he refused to give up and decided to follow his passion for music and try to turn it into a career.

With a big dream and lots of plans, he applied for the Micro-Projects program to get the support he needed to start. Now George has a small studio in which he records and produces music for many local artists.

George is married and has worked in the carpentry profession since childhood with more than 40 years of experience, he had a full workshop with a kit, but because of the war he lost the workshop with the entire equipment, unfortunately, he cannot return to his former work area because its still under control of armed groups.

During war his home was exposed to a shell explosion, which led to great damage to the house, as a result, the family was displaced for more than 10 years. 

Because of his great experience in His profession and his desire to develop his business, George applied to the Micro Projects in order to buy a machine that helps him save time and increase his income, George launched his project and added new models to his work that helped him bring new customers, which led to an increase in his monthly profits.

The Micro Projects Program was able to achieve one of George's goals, to help him strive to work harder and develop faster. 

Hilda is a lovely married woman who works in the church and her husband works as a driver for the church as well, because of the difficult life that Syrian families are going through, Hilda's family went through harsh conditions, which led to financial burdens, the earthquak made things worse because their house was greatly damaged.

when we are exposed to immense loss, we try to look for any small light in order to start a new chapter in life even if it is delayed; Hilda started working in knitting and she was sending the pieces that need a stitch and a knit to a sewing shop, as she does not have the necessary machines, which was for her a waste of time and great difficulty in receiving a larger number of customers, so Hilda decided to apply to the center to develop her small project in home sewing, in order to save time and increase her family's income.

Micro Projects Program was able to help Hilda to be able to take a step forward in her field of work and to overcome the difficulties she faces in her daily life. 

Elias is an example of the patient and strong father who faces life’s challenges for his family, Elias is married and has two sons, one of whom is serving in military, life challenged Elias differently at each stage, in the period of war he was displaced from his home, and his son was exposed to a war injury during his mandatory service time. 

Corona came to be one of the most difficult periods he went through; it kept him away from his work and family, but as Elias said:  "Our Mother Mary did not abandon me and helped me overcome this ordeal." Elias now works as a guard in a private school in Aleppo with a low salary, he wants to improve his income, so he decided to apply for a taxi, which he sees as a strong source in order to meet the requirements of life and his family's expenses.

At the end of the meeting Elias said that his dream is to be able to buy a taxi so he can be more financially independent, and he achieved this dream to be his first strong step in the face of life hardships.

The years of war were not easy for Fadi's family, however, it didn't stop them from pursuing their dreams of living in peace and stability. Fadi’s family suffered a lot during the war, especially in the first years as Fadi is a resident of the village of Al-Jadeeda in the Idlib countryside, which is one of the Christian villages in the city of Idlib. He was displaced with his family from the village after they were besieged by armed groups.

At the beginning of the war in 2011, Fadi volunteered to defend his land against the armed groups, then He was discharged from the army in 2021 after serving for ten years.

Before the war, Fadi worked in the aluminum craft in his village. He had a shop since 2004, but he lost it afyer leaving the village towards Kasab. In his last years of service, he worked in this profession during his spare hours intending to return to it after service..

After his discharge, he moved to Aleppo to settle there and began working in the aluminum field, but his income was not enough to secure the family’s needs, and he strived hard to start his project to secure a sufficient source of income for his family.

The Micro Projects Program was able to fulfill this family's dream of stability, and Fadi now has his own shop, which will enable him to provide a decent life for his family.

Elias is a strong man who defied the difficulties of life for the sake of his family’s happiness despite all the harsh circumstances he went through. 

Elias is married and has three children, he suffered a lot during the war; he had a taxi in 2014, but unfortunately it was destroyed by a shell in 2016, despite the difficulty of the situation he was able to overcome this incident for the sake of his children and started working as a driver for a local institution with a modest salary.

Elias held-on to hope, his many losses during the war did not disappoint him, and despite the suffering of life, he was not satisfied with his little income, he kept searching for an opportunity to improve his situation and a ray of hope that would change his life; for him it was a taxi that he would work on after his shift to help him secure a better income, Elias applied for micro projects and upon approval his joy was indescribable. Today Elias looks forward to starting a new life chapter full of hope and blessings.

Naeem is an example of strong personality who will face crises with positive adaptation without suppression or confusion, married and has two sons, he works in the field of sanitary installations, solar energy installation and electricity extension.

Naeem tried to develop himself in his domain of work despite all the difficulties and challenges he faced, he is a creative person who added with his experience of more than 15 years working in the field of central heating, he rented a shop in order to start a stable life and a small family. 

Despite many difficulties and the war that hit Aleppo, Naeem did not leave the city and remained working hard to secure a good future for his children, his house was damaged by the earthquake and he did not despair and was able to restore it.

Naeem applied for the necessary equipment which will help him increase his income and secure the needs of his family. He believes that everything will turn out for the best, and that tomorrow is more beautiful, Hopefully this project will be the beginning of beautiful days for him and his family.

Samar is a mother of three children and a clinical nutritionist, she obtained her degree in food technical engineering from the city of Aleppo, and works in the field of food engineering in several clinics affiliated with the churches. 

Samar is a persistent woman; despite all the difficulties and challenges, she completed her studies during war, and did not give up her childhood dream. She had a strong desire to open her own center, specializing in following up the conditions of pregnant women and also cases of growth in children, diabetes, in addition to Botox injections in the stomach to treat obesity. 

The war was harsh on Samar and her family, in 2013 her husband was kidnapped and they had tp pay a ransom of  5000$, her husband's factory was robbed in 2014, the family was also displaced to Latakia because their area of residence was unsafe, Samar did not despair despite all the hardships, she was able to work in the National Hospital in Latakia for 3 years and then returned to Aleppo in 2019 

Samar applied to the center to get support for her project with the needed devices. The new phase in Samar's life has now begun with ambition and determination to continue her passion in life

Dr. Ghassan have been working in the clinic for more than 30 years, he has extensive experience in the field of dentistry, his work was greatly affected during the war because his place was exposed to a lot of shells, and when the area became safe, he decided to develop his clinic's devices because the equipment was worn-out that it became dilapidated.

The earthquake destroyed all Ghassan’s dreams for the enhancement of his clinic and his house from which he and his family were able to get out safe and sound, and because life must go on, Ghassan decided to submit an application in order to develop his project with support from the Micro Projects.

Ghassan held-on to hope despite all the difficulties of life that he faced in the past, the strength that he possesses despite all the challenges and crises that he went through, his patience and will can overcome every painful hardship.

Dr. Ghassan launched his project with the new devices that helped him develop the clinic and achieve part of his dreams that he patiently longed for. 

Since childhood, Masses has been ambitious snd creative, he works in the field of women's hairdressing, his profession depends on good taste in order to satisfy customers, he has practiced this profession since childhood with at least 30 years of experience, Masses wants to develop his long-standing project, however, the equipment that he has is old and worn out due to daily use but he cannot afford a new set. 

“in our days the generator fees is consuming our inccome but we cannot work without it”.

Masses decided to work on an alternative plan in order to reduce this attrition and bring a generator that helps him increase his income from the project, and he also applied for the support of the necessary equipment.

Masses overcame all the difficulties he faced in his field of work economically and even in terms of the crisis he went through after his house was damaged by the earthquake, which was severe damage that prevented him from returning to his home, which is considered unsafe for hsbitstion to this day, All these difficulties increased his determination to move forward with a smile of hope facing all life challenges.

Shant is a passionate person, aspiring to be proficient in his work, self-reliant, in order to secure a decent life for his family; Shant is married and a father of two, he works day and night for the wellness of his family.

Shant works in the profession of car spraying, and has extensive experience in this field, he currently works in a workshop but the equipment is not his, and the wage he receives is not commensurate with his experience and insufficient for the requirements of life.

During war people are exposed to many material and physical losses, this period was difficult for Shant, he lost his shop and equipment. His mother, father and sister were injured in the war, Shant wants to be independent in his work, so the idea of applying for his own project through the Micro Projects Support was a ray of hope, Shant started his project and is now working with passion and enthusiasm in order to achieve his life goals and take good care of his loving family.

Hanna, a retired driver and farmer from Qattinah village, had spent most of his life working hard to provide for his family. He lived with his loving wife and their 33-year-old quadriplegic daughter, who required constant care and attention.

His livelihood depended on the land he owned, which was planted with wheat and summer crops such as potatoes. However, maintaining his crops required regular spraying of pesticides and fertilizers, a task that proved to be a financial burden for him. Since he didn't have his own tanker and sprayer, he had to rent them, paying high prices each time.

Determined to improve his situation, Hanna decided to seek assistance from the Micro Projects Program. He submitted an application, explaining his need for a tanker and spraying equipment. He hoped that this support would alleviate the high rental costs he had been burdened with and increase his income.

Fortunately, his application was successful, and Hanna received the tanker and spraying equipment he needed. With these tools at his disposal, he no longer had to rely on costly rentals. He could now efficiently spray his crops with pesticides and fertilizers whenever necessary, improving the health and productivity of his land.

The savings from renting expenses will allow Hanna to invest in other areas of his farming operations, further enhancing his income. 

Elian's journey has been marked by hardship and responsibility. As the eldest son, he carries the weight of his family's welfare on his shoulders. His father's injury from the war left him with an artificial leg, and his left leg is riddled with fragments. With his father unable to work, Elian took it upon himself to provide for his parents and younger brother in their home village of Qattinah.

After completing high school, he embarked on a two-year stint at a factory. Seeking better opportunities, he ventured to Erbil in 2019. However, his father's deteriorating health and the needs of his family compelled him to return home before long.

In 2021, Elian made his way back to his family's land, a valuable source of livelihood comprising grapes, olives, wheat, and other crops. The war that erupted in 2011 had ravaged the land, leading to theft of irrigation supplies and crops. A portion of the once-thriving trees had been reduced to ashes.

He faced financial constraints that prevented him from procuring the necessary machinery. He resorted to renting a tractor for plowing, which burdened his limited resources. Additionally, he had to manually spray the trees due to the lack of funds for purchasing the required equipment.

In his quest for assistance, Elian turned to the Micro Projects Program. He applied with the hope of obtaining a mini-cultivator that would alleviate the costs of plowing. This crucial tool would enable him to tend to his land whenever necessary, while other much-needed implements would enhance the overall condition of his property and improve crop yields.

Elian's determination to support his family and revive their land showcases his resilience and devotion. With the support of the Micro Projects Program, he envisions a brighter future, where the burden on his shoulders is lightened, and his family's sustenance is secured. Through his unwavering efforts, he strives to reclaim what was lost and cultivate a prosperous future for his loved ones in the village he proudly calls home.

Bassel, a determined young man from Homs, has always had a passion for barbering. At the age of 18, he began his journey in a barbershop, honing his skills. However, his plans were interrupted when he had to fulfill his mandatory military service, which lasted over nine long years.

After completing his service in 2022, he landed a job at a reputable salon in Homs city. He saved every Pound with a dream to open his own barbershop, knowing his skills and experience could make it a success.

Despite his hard work, the country's tough economic situation made it difficult for him to start his project alone. His determination led him to rent a shop in Al-Hamidia neighborhood. He decided to apply for the Micro Projects Program, hoping for some needed support.

Fortunately, his efforts paid off, and he received the support he needed to launch his own barbershop. With the equipment in place and his skills ready, Bassel's dream turned into reality.

Hassan, a dedicated family man, had always been the backbone of his household. As the sole provider, he had been working tirelessly in the field of wall painting and furniture spraying since 1986, ensuring that his wife and two sons had a roof over their heads and food on the table.

The war brought immense hardship to his family. Their home was tragically burned to the ground, leaving them with nothing but shattered memories. Despite the devastating setback, Hassan was determined to rebuild their lives from the ground up. With the assistance of local organizations, he managed to rehabilitate their home. 

However, life had more challenges for him. His electric bike, which had been his means of transportation and a vital tool for his work, was stolen. This unfortunate incident left him struggling to commute and caused a severe setback to his livelihood. Transportation costs soared, making it even more difficult for him to make ends meet.

Hope emerged on the horizon when Hassan learned about the Micro Projects Program. He decided to apply for assistance. He sought an electric generator, aware that his profession heavily relied on a reliable energy source. Additionally, he applied for a new electric bike to replace the stolen one, hoping it would alleviate the financial burden caused by expensive transportation.

He had attempted to save money to buy the much-needed items himself, but the ever-increasing prices and the growing needs of his family in the face of harsh economic conditions made it an arduous task. The Micro Projects Program presented a glimmer of hope, offering a chance to rebuild their lives once again.

His application was accepted. The program provided him with both the electric generator and a brand-new electric bike. The weight of financial strain began to lift from his shoulders, and a renewed sense of optimism filled his heart.

Edwar, a hardworking farmer, has always dedicated his life to cultivating the land inherited from his father in the village of Qattinah. His love for farming goes hand in hand with his deep commitment to providing for his family. Married to his supportive wife, Laila, and blessed with three university-going children, two daughters, and a son, Edwar's main goal is to ensure their well-being.

However, their journey has not been without hardships. In 2013, during the devastating war, his wheat land fell victim to a destructive fire, leaving him unable to revive it until 2015. Despite this setback, he remained resilient and resourceful, finding alternative ways to sustain his family's livelihood.

To supplement their income, Edwar wisely allocated a portion of his inherited land to raise two cows. This decision provided them with an additional source of income, helping them make ends meet. Nevertheless, challenges persisted in their farming routine.

Plowing the land had become a financial burden for him, as he had to rely on renting a tractor. Determined to find a solution, he resorted to manual labor, dragging a traditional plowing iron fork himself. The physically demanding task took a toll on his energy. Additionally, Edwar painstakingly removed harmful weeds from his land by hand, a laborious and time-consuming process.

Hope came in the form of the Micro Projects Program, to which Edwar applied for assistance. Recognizing his dedication and the potential impact of his work, the program provided him a mini-cultivator. This simple yet transformative machine not only saved him from the tiring job of manual plowing but also significantly reduced the associated costs.

Furthermore, Edwar received a weed cutter, another invaluable tool that lightened his workload. With the support of these modern farming implements, he was able to focus more on the cultivation itself, improving his productivity and ensuring a higher yield.

Through his hard work and the assistance provided by the Micro Projects Program, he was able to overcome the challenges and enhance the livelihood of his family. With renewed hope and a brighter future, Edwar continues to sow the seeds of success, nurturing both his crops and the dreams of his loved ones.

Rana, a talented graduate from the faculty of pharmacy 2018, embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by opening her first pharmacy in 2019, which was located in a village near Homs.

In 2021, her life took a beautiful turn when she married Hussam, a diligent bank employee. They decided to start their life together in Fairouza village. However, the couple faced financial constraints that prevented them from opening a pharmacy in their new location due to to the challenging economic circumstances.

Determined to continue practicing her profession, Rana took up a position working for a pharmacist, allowing her to stay connected to her passion. 

After working for an entire year, she decided that having her own project is a necessity and saw the Micro Projects Program as a great chance to fulfill her dream of opening a pharmacy once again and chose the vibrant Al-Hamidia neighborhood as the ideal location for her new project. 

In pursuit of her dream, Rana persevered through financial obstacles and remained dedicated to her profession. With the support of the Micro Projects Program, she finally found an opportunity to open her own pharmacy.

Tammam is a farmer from Al-Dwair village who is still trying to fix what the brutal war had left behind. 

He is a married man and a father of two, he works as an employee besides farming being the family's sole breadwinner. 

When Al-Dwair village was attacked by the armed groups, Tammam took his family and escaped to the city of Homs leaving everything. Unfortunately, the loss was huge; their house was severely damaged while all of the trees on their land were cut down, in addition to stealing all the agricultural equipment and destroying the water well. 

Thankfully, the situation stabilized in the village; Tammam repaired his damaged house, which cost him a lot of money, and spent all of his savings on planting a part of the land with new olive trees but he couldn’t afford to continue since he wanted to buy a water pump and plant the remaining part of his land with wheat to improve the income. 

Tammam and his family are attempting to begin and rebuild their life, this support will allow them to settle back in their home village. 

Elias, a dedicated family man from the village of Qattinah, faced the challenges of providing for his loved ones while working as a government employee and cultivating his land. Married to Nisreen and blessed with two children, Jan and Julia, Elias worked tirelessly to make ends meet.

His modest salary and farming endeavors in almonds, olives, fruit trees, and potatoes sustained his family. However, the toil of manually plowing the land and relying on borrowed water from his neighbor's well hindered his progress. Elias dreamed of enhancing his agricultural practices, but the financial burden prevented him from affording a drip irrigation network.

Realizing the need for additional support, he applied to the Micro Projects Program. He sought a mini-cultivator and a drip irrigation system to boost his agricultural project. 

The Micro Projects Program approved his application. They provided him with the needed mini-cultivator and drip irrigation system. This assistance transformed his farming methods, saving him from the laborious task of manual plowing and ensuring efficient irrigation for his crops.

With the mini-cultivator effortlessly churning the soil and the drip irrigation system nourishing his plants, Elias witnessed a remarkable improvement in his agricultural project. The increased productivity and reduced physical strain allowed him to allocate more time to his family.

Elias's almond, olive, fruit trees, and potatoes flourished under the optimized conditions. His harvests multiplied, providing a substantial boost to his income. The burden of borrowing equipment and struggling with manual labor became a thing of the past.

Ehssan, a farmer and devoted family man, found himself facing challenges in his village of Qattinah. Married and with three children to support, he relied on his income as a physics and chemistry teacher, which unfortunately provided him with only a meager salary since 1999.

In 2013, tragedy struck when his beloved wife began experiencing severe vision problems. Over the course of four years, she underwent several eye surgeries, but, devastatingly, she eventually lost her sight. This life-altering event added an immense burden to their already difficult circumstances.

Eager to alleviate their financial strain, Ehssan sought opportunities to improve his farming practices. He longed to reduce the high costs of plowing his land, which significantly impacted his meager earnings. Additionally, he saw an opportunity to provide plowing services to fellow farmers, thereby ensuring an extra source of income for his family.

Determined to overcome these challenges, he applied to the Micro Projects Program, hoping to acquire a mini-cultivator. With this essential tool, he could efficiently plow his land, eliminating the need to rent expensive tractors. This newfound self-sufficiency would enable him to increase the productivity of his land, leading to a substantial improvement in his family's overall income.

Thanks to the Micro Projects Program, Ehssan's application was approved, and he obtained the mini-cultivator he needed. With renewed hope and enthusiasm, he tirelessly worked his land.

The mini-cultivator not only saved him from the costs of plowing but also allowed him to offer his services to neighboring farmers. This entrepreneurial venture not only empowered him to generate additional income but also fostered a sense of community cooperation and support among local farmers.

Waleed, a hardworking farmer from the village of Qattinah, faced some challenges in providing for his family. Besides cultivating his land, he worked as an employee to ensure an additional income for his household. His family consisted of his wife, Reem, a dedicated school teacher, his son, Antoun, who was in the eighth grade, and his daughter, Sarah, who was in the fifth grade.

His land was his pride and joy. He diligently cultivated various crops, including beans, fruit trees, and walnut trees. To aid in the process, he had a water well and a water pump installed, along with a drip irrigation network. However, plowing the land had become an increasing financial burden. Waleed was forced to rent a tractor, which strained his resources and caused him to reduce the frequency of plowing from three times to just once. Unfortunately, this had a detrimental effect on the land's productivity.

In attempt to find a solution, he applied to the Micro Projects Program, seeking assistance. Through the program, he was supported a mini-cultivator, a trailer, and various plant treatments. This machinery would revolutionize his farming practices. With the mini-cultivator and trailer, he could efficiently organize the plowing process, eliminating the need for expensive rentals. Moreover, the equipment would significantly improve production. Additionally, the plant treatments provided would save him costs associated with spraying the trees.

Waleed's spirits soared as he realized the positive impact these resources would have on his family's livelihood. The mini-cultivator would relieve his financial burden and enhance the land's productivity, ensuring a bountiful harvest for years to come. With his newfound tools and treatments, he could look forward to a brighter future, providing for his beloved wife and children while nurturing his beloved land.

Samih, a retired government employee and lifelong farmer from the village of Qattinah, is a devoted husband and father of two children. Living under one roof with his wife, children, and elderly mother-in-law, he has always worked tirelessly to provide for his family.

During the war, his once-prosperous land suffered greatly. The warehouses were destroyed, and all the trees were mercilessly cut down. Despite these setbacks, he remained resilient and determined to rebuild his farm.

With two plots of land situated just 500 meters apart, Samih started the restoration process. He began by planting young almond trees and vegetables on one portion, while the other half was divided between grapevines and crops like wheat and potatoes. To ensure proper irrigation, he relied on two water wells in one of the lands, while the other land was watered using hoses. He borrowed money to purchase a motor for the water sprayers, a crucial investment for his farming operations.

When he learned about the Micro Projects Program, he saw an opportunity to improve his irrigation system further. Realizing that he only had one line of water sprayers, he eagerly applied for assistance in the form of compost and additional water sprayers. The support provided by the program would undoubtedly enhance his production and bring him one step closer to reclaiming the prosperity he once enjoyed.

With unwavering determination and the newfound support from the Micro Projects Program, Samih continues to nurture his land, embracing the hope of a brighter future for his family and the flourishing farm they call home.

Khalaf Al-Bshara, 51, is married to Shireen Qabalan and lives in a humble house with his parents in Al-Tabbaleh neighborhood.

Despite being a skilled painter since 2003, life had not been kind to Khalaf.

At the beginning of the crisis, his painting work decreased so he started working on transferring vegetables and fruits between his village in Daraa and Damascus until the security conflicts reached the area and it was no longer safe, but he decided to challenge the situation and keep working until he was exposed to kidnapping by the armed groups, the three days he stayed in abduction shattered his stability so he relocated to Damascus to live with his family at his parents’ house.

With opportunities scarce, Khalaf found himself shuttling between different jobs: painting, construction, and even restaurant cleaning, he opted to do any available work to put food on the table but his situation was getting worse and the weight of responsibility pressed down harder in addition to having financial hardships, all of that led his marriage to collapse, as his wife took his daughter and moved to live at her parents’ house while he had to put his son at an orphanage.

Tears welled in Khalaf's eyes as he spoke of his kids, his dream of reuniting his fractured family stirred a deep resolve within him, making him apply for the pick-up car with one goal ahead, the reunion of his family.

The support that he gained from Hope Center isn't just about financial assistance; it symbolizes the promise of reunification, healing fractured bonds, and restoring Khalaf's family. 

Samaan Ashkar, a blacksmith whose life tells the tale of resilience against all odds.

From his humble beginnings in Kashkoul, Samaan started working as a blacksmith where he faced numerous challenges, including financial constraints and the loss of his beloved family members, but Samaan's spirit remained unbroken.

In 2003, he decided to relocate to Dubai and try his luck there, he worked in various capacities and experienced both triumphs and tribulations. However, with all the setbacks and financial strains that he went through in Dubai, Samaan managed to preserve, handle his livelihood, and save for his future, then after several years of working hard, Samaan decided eventually to return to Syria and start a new chapter of his life. 

Unfortunately, upon his arrival, he had to endure the loss of his mother, brother, and sister, which left him heartbroken and in poor financial condition as he bore the burden of their medical expenses and funeral costs from his previous work savings. 

With the limited tools and resources, he had, Samaan was not able to start his own business; he had to work at other blacksmithing workshops to get income and afford his living expenses.

Samaan longed to become independent and have his own blacksmithing workshop, which was achieved after getting support from Hope Center to buy electricity generators and necessary equipment and machines.

Today, Samaan is so grateful because having this project marked a pivotal moment in his journey, enabling him to overcome his adversities, and lightening his path toward self-sufficiency and decent living.

Elias Al-Ghabra is one of the minorities who are still interested in preserving the family profession as he began working in the field of manufacturing convection ovens with his father at a young age in a rental workshop in Jaramana and continued in the filed alongside his study.

The main field of work is manufacturing thermal ovens based on gas after the electric ovens stopped being demanded due to the terrible electricity situation in the country, their work increased and they also started to receive ovens maintenance orders. 

In 2010 Elias was called for military service and the war began shortly after he joined, so he was transferred to serve in Al-Hasakah Governorate until 2019, during which he went through difficult circumstances and faced many dangers. However, on his vacations, he used to return home and help his father in the workshop.

However, as a result of the significant increase in prices in addition to his mother’s battle with cancer and her treatment in Al-Biruni Hospital, their business deteriorated and the expenses became higher than the income forcing them to sell some of the equipment to cover the mother’s treatment expenses.

After Elias was discharged from service in 2019, he returned to work with his father, but the remaining equipment and materials were not enough to strengthen the work and have a proper income to cover the living expenses.

With the help of Hope Center, Elias was supported to purchase new machines to enable this intrepid young man to expand his work which will positively impact his living circumstances and help preserve the family's profession.

Hanna Al-Ajoury 31, resides with his parents and brother Jack, their father, who was employed at the Gas station for 13 years but is currently without work. His brother works as an employee while their other brother, Marhaf, has relocated to Germany.

Before the war, he had worked at his cousin's beverage shop in Zabadani for two years until 2011 when he was called for military service for the next nine years. however, during his military service, he also worked alongside his father at the gas station, to secure his expenses and save some money for the future.

After his discharge from the service, Hanna embarked on a new journey in his life, as he started working as a taxi driver, with the money he saved from his previous work,  got engaged seeking to establish his own family but he was shocked by the huge burdens of living and his endeavors started to vanish.

Seeking assistance from Hope Center in Damascus, Hanna was granted support to purchase a taxi, which significantly improved his life. The newfound independence and stability brought by this taxi helped Hanna support his family and nurture his dreams.

Despite the challenges he faced, Hanna's story exemplifies the human spirit's ability to rise above adversity and create a better reality, one step at a time.

Anastasia Haddad born in 1998, was working diligently as a makeup artist and nail technician, living with her sister Taj in a rented flat in Jaramana after the divorce of her parents as they found solace in each other's company, forming a bond of strength amidst adversity.

Anastasia and Taj's childhood was marked by tumultuous family complications leaving scars that only time could heal. Yet, their determination to carve a brighter future fueled their aspirations and their talents blossomed despite all the challenges they faced.

Anastasia managed to overcome the obstacles by working long hours daily at a Salon in the neighborhood, but the income didn't cover the living expenses and she wanted to expand her work and customers which wasn’t possible with the tools she had, so she decided to apply at the Micro Project program to start her own project.

Supporting Anastasia with a make-up kit including all the necessary tools to start, was a turning point in her life because it enabled her to become independent and enhance her living condition.

George Eskeif, 33 is living alone in a sparsely furnished house in Jaramana while his heart remains tied to his family in Lebanon.

His family's relocation from Idlib to Damascus due to his father's health issues marked a turning point in their lives. George, then a student, saw himself shouldering the responsibility of their household while his father pursued medical treatment in Lebanon.

After completing his military service in 2019, George found himself with no education or experience, so he started working as a taxi driver, hoping to secure a stable income for himself and support his family who was residing in Lebanon as his father was working at a small coffee kiosk, while his brother was working diligently at a snack restaurant. Yet, the harsh realities of life in Lebanon lingered, driving George to ensure his family's well-being by sending them vital medications each month.

full of faith, George applied for the pickup car project at Hope Center seeking financial stability and sustainable livelihood.

the support he got, didn't just offer George financial assistance; it restored his sense of purpose and dignity. It empowered him to support his family while carving his own path to self-reliance and success.

Murhaf Al-Maher 62, is married to Nada Sankari, and the father of two daughters and son. Despite his age and recent health issues, including lung inflammation, Murhaf remained determined to work. His dedication stemmed not just from financial necessity but from a sense of pride in providing for his family and with no hesitation he also supported his daughters; Souryana, while she was pursuing a medical degree, and Rima, who became a music teacher.

In recent years, with his wife's medical expenses and his daughter's university fees looming large, Murhaf had found himself dipping into his savings more frequently. Yet, he remained steadfast in his commitment to their well-being, he kept supporting them through thick and thin, especially during his son-in-law's military service, and had even exhausted his savings to ensure their living. 

Now retired, Murhaf sought to continue working, not just out of necessity and lack of income, but out of a desire to maintain his independence and dignity.

With limited options available due to his age and health, the support he received from the Hope Center to purchase his own taxi, was crucial in ensuring his family's financial stability and allowing them to live with dignity. Despite the challenges he faced, Murhaf remained resolute in his determination to provide for his loved ones, one ride at a time.

Despite life's challenges, Elein Zghaib 28, remained steadfast in her pursuit of a better future. She lives with her family in Jaramana, her father is employed at the Ministry of Education, her mother tends to the household, and her sister, born in 2002, is skilled in nail care and beauty care. Their familial bond was a source of strength as they faced life's adversities together.

Before the crisis, Elein and her family were living in their ancestral home in Dweileh, but circumstances forced them to sell it and relocate. During that period, she graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration then she started working at Syriatel from 2016 to 2020 in marketing and sales. However, the income she got was barely enough to meet her own expenses without being able to provide for the house. Elein sought new horizons in the field of hairdressing and beauty care then she decided to travel to Lebanon in early 2022 seeking better opportunities but low salary and harsh conditions prompted her return after eight months.

Upon her return, Elein continued working as a freelance at various salons, often alongside her sister. She honed her skills through self-teaching leading to undeniable expertise in hairstyling.

With a vision for the future, Elein dreamed of opening her own salon, a joint venture with her sister, and with the help she got from Hope Center, this dream turned into reality.

Today, both sisters are determined to shoulder responsibilities and contribute to their family's expenses, facing life's challenges with unwavering resolve and great hopes.

Mufeed Hejazy, 28, lives with his family in a rented house in Dwallaa. His household consisted of his parents, his elder brother, who works at a goldsmith workshop, and his unemployed sister. Mufeed himself had volunteered for a charitable project in 2020 then he worked at a cosmetic company for two years until it closed. 

Mufeed and his family faced numerous hardships during the crisis in Syria, including his father suffering with chronic bronchitis which was very costly so they sought help from a local charity for the life-saving oxygen machine. Additionally, during the conflict in Maaloula in 2013, his father was kidnapped along with their car, requiring a hefty ransom of money for the release.

Despite the challenges, Mufeed persevered, seeking employment after the closure of the cosmetic company. However, finding stable work was difficult, especially since he didn't have the chance to gain any experience or education degree during his 9 years of military service.

With support from Hope Center, Mufeed was able to purchase a taxi, which formed a fresh start for him, a pathway to financial independence, and a means to navigate life's challenges without relying on others.

Alaa is a talented young man in his twenties, he lives with his parents and sister in Jaramana after being displaced from their home in Harasta due to the armed conflict in the area at the beginning of the Syrian crisis.

Alaa was always passionate about photography so he trained at a young age at a Clacket studio to learn more about this career, then he got employed at the communication department at SSSD as a photographer until 2018 trying to find better income to match the increasing costs of living.

Soon after, he started working at an event planning office as a photographer and videographer, but at the same time he was dreaming of having his own equipment that would enable him to establish private work and develop his career.

With the help of Hope Center, Alaa was supported to purchase a camera which was a dream coming true for him as he is able now to have his own photography session, and at the same time add his own signature which will empower his name in the field and open the chance of developing his work and improving his living conditions.

In the heart of a bustling area nestled a home where dreams brewed and aspirations soared. Dhyaa Al-Btros, his wife, and his family members lived within its walls, each floor holds a part of his close-knit family.

Since 2004, he delved into the field of confectionery, honing his skills by working at various pastry shops. In 2008 he was called for military service until 2010. Upon discharge, he returned to his roots in Khabab, opening a pastry shop until 2014 when adversity struck, so he relocated his shop to the Al-Dukhanieh area in Damascus, but the situation wasn't any better there as violent incidents and armed conflict took place in the area which resulted in the loss of his shop.

Undeterred, he adopted a novel approach, distributing goods via electric bicycles until 2019 when he was called again for the reserve service for three years before resuming the distribution of goods and biscuits, using his brother's electric bicycle.

Presently, Dhyaa toils in the morning as a warehouse worker, and by dusk, continues his work on a bicycle, aspiring to have a pick-up truck for efficient distribution, which would improve his income and release him from the hard morning work. 

considering this tapestry of trials and challenges, Dhyaa was supported by the Micro project program to purchase his own pick-up truck hoping to empower his unwavering spirit in the face of adversity, improve his living conditions, and preserve his dignity.

Karin Jbeil, a woman of remarkable courage and determination, born in 1989, lived a journey of strength and self-discovery that shaped her life forever.

Married to Wissam Al Ramahin, a dedicated hospital employee, Karin’s life revolved around her family. With two precious children, Sharbel born in 2010, and Christelle in 2013, her days were filled with love and purpose.

Karin's entrepreneurial spirit ignited in 2008 when she enrolled in a nail and waxing course at the European Institute. From 2012 onwards, she began her journey offering her skills to the community. Her home, became her workplace, with a room dedicated to her craft.

The echoes of war that ravaged their area in subsequent years did not deter Karin. Despite the chaos and uncertainty, she persevered, balancing her career aspirations with the safety of her children so she started to work in a nearby childcare center for two years, ensuring stability for her family during tumultuous times.

As peace slowly returned to Dowella, Karin resumed her passion for beauty, working part-time at local salons but the low salary wasn’t worth the long hours she spent far from her kids. She yearned to establish her own beauty salon, equipped with nail and waxing services.

Having support from Hope Center to have her own salon not only empowered her to become financially independent, but also assured her that dreams can flourish, and lives can be transformed.
