Youssef lives with his wife, parents and sister in his family's house. After marriage he was planning to live in a borrowed house and he had started to renovate, but during the war the house was damaged. Then they traveled to Lebanon for three years but he didn’t succeed there so he came back to his country.

During his time in Lebanon, he worked as a blacksmith in a company, after which he worked for two years in maintaining air conditioners, but his income from this work was less than that of blacksmithing. For this reason, he started working in his father's workshop and using old tools and machines.

Unfortunately, after the earthquake that hit Syria, because of their fear they traveled to Hama for a short period of time.

As a young married man, he wants to be the boss of his own business & tools, this way he’d be able to secure his family’s needs and live in a separate house. Now all of these dreams are possible after he got funded.

Harout is 41 years old and a father of two daughters and a son, living in a rented house, his first job was in his father's shoe workshop, then they sold it to cover living expenses. Afterwards he started working as a plumber in a monastery and learned the profession there. 

In 2010 he traveled to Lebanon and continued in the same profession.
At the end of 2011 the family returned to Aleppo and bought a house, unfortunately after nearly just one month, they had to sell the house due to their financial instability; they moved between several provinces in search for a better life and during their absence, the plumbing kit that he has bought was stolen, after which they returned to Aleppo and settled here. 

Harout now works as a plumber in the Salesian monastery along with some other clients but his only problem is that he has a primitive kit so he rents the equipment, which constitutes additional costs.

Harout’s only wish is to raise his children under stable and good conditions, which requires him to search for new ways to increase his income and fulfill his family’s needs. Now with the fund he has all the equipment and he is looking forward to better days to come.

Mikhaiel is a newly married man who recently moved to a rental apartment subsequent to living in his parent’s house since his financial situation was unstable.

Mikhaiel started his career back in his early twenties when he rented his friend’s taxi and worked as an uber driver but this didn’t last long because he got called for military service in 2007 for two years and then he worked in a sewing workshop approximately for 8 years. 

In 2017 he got injured by a shrapnel in his leg and then he got recalled for reserve military service till the end of 2021. after his discharge he couldn’t turn back to the sewing domain because of his injury that made it hard on him to stand for long hours which led him to work as a keeper in a sewing workshop and that is where he currently works, but his income from this job is not enough to cover the livelihood expenses.

The consequences of the earthquake were harsh on his wife, it caused her onset of hemiplegia and her treatment expenses are high so his need to a new and better income became a necessity.

Mikhaiel heard about Hope Center’s Micro projects program and decided to apply for a taxi, because of his health condition this is the most appropriate job for him. Now that he owns the taxi, he is so thankful and full of hope that he will be capable of covering his wife’s medical treatment costs and their livelihood expenses.

Ghassan 55 years old has been working as a carpenter for more than 40 years, he learned this profession and worked in many workshops for more than twenty years, then he decided to become independent and work separately between homes and workshops upon request.

Today, Ghassan is the father of two sons who live in his grandmother’s house, after the loss of their own home, which he bought in 2012. As a result, the family moved to the city of Homs for 4 years to start over. He worked there again with his profession, and he was able to buy new equipment after his old equipment were stolen. 

Currently, his wife helps him with the daily expenses through her work as a teacher in a private school, and he works between homes and workshops, where his specialty is detailing bedrooms and upholstering chairs with primitive carpentry tools.

Ghassan now has a chance of a new start with the new equipment that helps him save time, effort, and expenses.

Pamela lives with her parents and her younger sister in a rented apartment, she has been working since she was 17 and they moved to Tartus to escape from the war and the shells that were falling all over Aleppo.

In Tartus she worked in so many different domains, later, she started taking photographs as a hobby then, that hobby turned to a passion and profession.

In 2017 the family came back to Aleppo and Pamela's friends were the biggest supporters who encouraged her to pursue her passion.

Pamela wanted to take her talent to the next level and upgrade her skills by taking a design and montage course along with continuous self-improving.

She specialized in surgical photography because one of her friends was a dentist who believed in her and they agreed on working together, which enlarged her customers' circle and she became a well-known photographer among doctors who prefer this kind of promotions.

Pamela didn’t have any professional equipment; she used her mobile phone’s camera and when the doctors demanded a professional camera, she had to rent it.

Today after the support of Micro Projects, she has all the equipment and the confident to work independently and increase her income. 

Katia is married with two kids; she loves to take care of her family and pamper them along with prioritizing time for her hobbies and her work.

Katia discovered her passion which was making pastries and sweets, she took a course from a professional chef to gain more knowledge in her specialization.

She started evolving slowly, and her first few orders were from her close friends and her relatives, everyone who tried her sweets and pastries encouraged her to keep up her good work and take it a step forward, Katia chose to work at home just so she’ll be next to her family and take care of them.

Later on, She got well-known and decided to participate in exhibitions to increase her income along with marketing purposes. Katia had some primitive tools that helped her so far but now that she has many more clients it requires her to renew and expand the equipment.

Hope Center’s fund helped to turn her dreams into a reality, and now that she has all the essential tools, she’ll be able to gain more orders confidently and help her husband with their family’s livelihood expenses.

Antoine is married with 2 kids, they live in a modest apartment, his wife and him both work hard for their daughters.

Antoine has made his way in this world by working at air conditioning maintenance since he was a young man, he started as a worker and after taking a course he developed his work range.

First few years of learning the profession were somehow harsh on him, but his aim and hard work paid off and he became skilled and wanted to be more independent; he was planning to open his own workshop, but his financial instability created an obstacle so he ended up as a partner in a workshop with a small share of the profit.

Soon after, the family’s expenses were getting bigger and bigger and his share of the profit was no longer enough as the only income source.

Micro project’s fund planted hope and joy in his soul, now that he is the boss of his own project and has all the machinery he needs, Antoine believes he will conquer most of the financial difficulties he may face in the future.

Antoine is a divorced man living with his daughter who is preparing for the bachelor’s exam and they live a small apartment.

Antoine had a vehicle which he used to drive when he was a round trip driver at a transportation company and he was satisfied with his income but after the war and its consequences the company decided to close and he became unemployed. 

Because he has a daughter to take care of, he needed to quickly search for a new income source so he rented a shop and opened a market from his savings but sadly his market got robbed, to refund his business he sold his car and worked till 2021, then the owner of the shop told him to move out. He started working as a bus driver at the deaf school where he works till now. However the expenses were increasing rapidly and the salary became insufficient. 

Now he got the Taxi, he is happy and thankful for being able to secure his family’s needs and insure a better income.

Mikhaiel served in military for 10 years and now he thrives to start his life from scratch; despite all the difficulties that he has been facing, decided to focus on the opportunities and not the obstacles.

He had started working in the rubber molding domain with his father since he was young, gained experience and even worked during the vacations of his military service.

Moreover, they've lost all of their equipment during the war due to the fact that their workshop’s region was under the control of armed groups for a long period of time. 

Now that he’s a father of two and also takes care of his parents accordingly his responsibility became bigger than ever, but that’s not a hindrance for him, cause he finds all the courage he needs every time he looks at his beautiful family.

So, he applied for Hope Center, hoping to use his great experience to commence his own business and provide a better life for his children. 

"I love my country Syria and I'll keep up working at my shop no matter what" 

Salem who is 66 years old, lives in one of the parish's houses with his wife and three children, during the war they were forced to leave their home for a short period of time and sadly his daughter got injured by a stray bullet and she is still carrying a piece of it in her hand, moreover his stationery shop was damaged by the missiles that were falling around it like rain.

Despite this all, he didn't lose hope and persisted to open his shop and tried to continue his regular life, because he is a strong-willed, hardworking person, who looks at life from a positive perspective, with considering the fact that he is the only breadwinner in his family, whose only wish is to secure the basics for his family.

The equipment that he has are from the day he opened the shop back to 1987, which became outdated and not useful anymore, that's why upgrading his shop became essential for him so that he won't lose more costumers.

With the help of Hope Center, Salem now has all the tools he needs that will increase his income and provide a decent life for his family.

Salim is a hardworking and strong-willed man, who lives with his three siblings along with being the main breadwinner in his family. 

Salim laid the foundation of his sewing experience back when he was young by helping his father in his free time and during his summer vacations.

In 1986, he opened his own workshop and everything was great, the business was profitable, which made him enlarge the project and specialize in sewing uniforms.

The story of his big success was torn apart after the war that hit Syria, which left him with a mounting burden of debt, later on he sold off most of his machinery and his workshop to pay them back.

But he didn’t give up and turned back to his business with the simple machinery that he has kept; day after day he realized, that what he makes is not enough comparing with the market demand.

Now, that he got the opportunity to open a new workshop and turn it step by step to what it was before, he is so thankful to Hope Center for giving him the chance to fulfill his family’s needs and livelihood expenses.

Everyone appreciates his valuable possessions and it is difficult to sell a property in order to face the difficulty of life and the difficult living conditions.

Ohaness faced this problem when he had to sell their house because of the lack of work at that time after he was discharged from the military.

He is 31 years old, served the military for more than nine years, now he lives with his brother, who serves in the military, and his mother in their small house.

He returned to his previous profession in rubber molding after completing his service. But his savings were not enough to open a business, he decided to apply to the Hope Center to get help with a purchase of a press machine.

This initiative helped him have the essential machine to continue and save the family's only source of livelihood. 

Mikhail’s life had changed when he was diagnosed with an arterial embolism in his right leg, which made even doing the regular activities a painstaking work to him. 

He lives with his family in a rented apartment; he couldn’t stay without work and despite the doctors’ warnings, he was obliged to continue working in his exhausting profession as a wall-painter. Being the sole breadwinner for his wife and two children, this was his only way for making a living. 

Lately, Mikhail’s health started to deteriorate and he started to lose hope when he was no longer able to provide a decent income for his family, his relative told him about the Micro Projects Program and advised him to think of a project that would be suitable for his condition.

Mikhail had worked before on a mini pick-up truck and this work ensured him a sufficient income as he has wide relations with many craftsmen who provided him with many opportunities, but unfortunately, he had to sell that vehicle when the cruel war started. 

He consulted his doctor who told him that driving wouldn’t be dangerous in his situation, and immediately applied. His project was approved and now, Mikhail has his own project, which will get him out of a real financial trouble and help him settle down with his family.

Since he was young, Maurice always dreamed of studying architectural engineering; he graduated from high school during a period when his family was going through tough circumstances and he couldn’t fulfill his dream. This ambitious young man didn’t have another choice but to study physics, although he wasn’t interested in this domain, he tried to improve his skills in 3D drawing and started working on his old laptop. In 2015, he had the chance to work as a graphic designer for a specialized office for 2 years where he gained great experience and managed to save some money to buy a new laptop.

His ambition didn’t stop there and he decided to study marketing and E-commerce at the university as this major would serve his field, and besides studying, he worked for a printing shop that provides many services where he utilized his design skills in addition to obtaining skills in “Architectural Drafting”. 

Unfortunately, the cruel economic crisis affected this shop, and it had been closed after a year, Maurice needed another place for his work so he rented a small office where he was able to start working in the field of montage as a part-time job.

Lately, the rapid technological progress became a challenge, especially that the laptop he used was too old and the frequent blackouts affected his job negatively, which made it very difficult to finish his work, and buying a new one nowadays has become nearly impossible.

Maurice believed in his abilities and worked very hard for 7 years to create his own business from scratch, helping him to improve his small business by buying a laptop and an alternative energy source will ensure him better opportunities. No matter how hard the road, he will keep doing what he loves to maintain a successful career aiming for a bright future.

In 2011, Tarek and his wife Hanan had no other choice but to leave everything behind. After losing their house in the city of Homs; they fled to their home village “Outan” where he rented a small shop and continued working. 

He is a photographer since 2001, his wife is a teacher and they have a four-year-old twin; a girl and a boy. 

2017 was the year when Tarek and Hanan decided to return home and start a new life for the sake of their newborn children; their house was severely damaged and repairing it was impossible so they rented an apartment, while Tarek rented a shop and got back to work using the camera he bought 20 years ago. After the war, he couldn’t afford buying a new one due to its high price and lost many offers as his camera was too old compared to the modern technologies in this field, in addition to the increasing number of competitors, which of course weakened his chances a lot! 

Tarek started to feel that all the years he spent in hard work, went in vain and his long career was in real danger without being able to do anything about it, until one day he heard about the Micro Projects Program from a friend who encouraged him to apply. 

Having a modern camera was all he needed to save his only passion in life and his only way to ensure his family a decent living.

Year after year, Murshed who is a floor tiler became no longer able to continue working the way he used to. While he was getting older, and being the only provider for his family, he started to focus more on farming to keep providing for them without needing any help.

He is a married man and a father of two; a daughter and a son. Living with his small family in their simple rural house in Ozair village; Murshed has worked very hard on his land and prepared it with the viable basics such as a suitable irrigation system to plant many crops like vegetables, fruit, wheat, and barley. 

For a man of his age, working in his main profession is getting more difficult with time, and his income has become barely enough for the daily essential needs. 

The only thing Murshed needed was a mini-cultivator, which will make plowing easier for him and save a good amount of his profits, also he can use it as a means of transportation to reach his land easily.

Living under the crucial economic inflation has become more difficult than ever, the salary of an employee is no longer a sufficient source of income, especially for a family of five such as Iyad's one, having three children and a wife to support has forced him to take up a second job in order to cover the increasing daily needs. 

Iyad lives with his family in Maskaneh village, ever since he was young he helped his father in the land and inherited it later, when the economic situation in the country became more than he could handle, he thought of taking advantage of the land so he started to work in farming every day in the evenings with the skills he got from h his father and his useful advice which helped Iyad to have good crops.

Lately, the main challenge Iyad and many farmers had to face, was the high costs of renting agricultural equipment, especially when they need to plow their lands.

After having the mini-cultivator, Iyad’s problem was solved and that allowed him to save the money he used to spend on renting a cultivator to improve the productivity of his land, moreover, this equipment could be used as a mean of transportation after making some adjustments on it.

this support pushed Iyad’s project forward and gave stability to his family’s living conditions. 

Many sectors have been damaged due to the destructive war, which affected all aspects of life in a way or another.

After the war, Amer, just like many farmers, faced several difficulties especially in watering his land, as the lack of power source made even regular tasks hard to accomplish! he realized that the only way to avoid this difficulty is by installing a drip irrigation system for his land. 

Amer is the sole breadwinner for his wife Nagham and their one-year-old son Stephen; they live in their home village Maskana (in the south of Homs city, 9 km away from its center). He has been working as a farmer for 10 years, and now his land is the family’s only source of livelihood.

Having an irrigation network was very important for the sustainability of the land and work;  Amer tried his best to solve this problem with some money he saved, he managed to install a part on a small section of his land. Unfortunately, completing the network was impossible because of its high costs, the only way to water the trees was by dragging hoses manually which was exhausting and took a lot of time and effort. 

Amer applied for a drip irrigation network in addition to some pesticides for his almond and peach trees. Having these requirements will definitly improve his income and helped him maintrain the land he has been planting for years.

Since he was young, Fadi and his brothers used to help their father in his plumbing requirements shop; through the years, he enjoyed working as a plumber and gained a wide experience in this field. 

Unfortunately, like many of his age, he couldn’t establish a life because of the cruel war; in 2014, he was called to serve in the army, his service lasted for five years and when he finished, he didn’t have the opportunity to start his independent project and had no other choice but to work in his father’s shop.

The bad economic situation in the country had a huge impact on this family’s business. His pregnant wife and their three-year-old son, his elderly parents and his two brothers’ families are all living off of this shop, and splitting the profits made their income insufficient and barely enough for a living! 

When Fadi heard about the Micro Projects Program, he started thinking of having his own shop where he could ensure a better livelihood. He discussed this idea with his father and brothers who supported him and encouraged him to apply so he would finally be able to make his own way and establish a new business, after losing many years because of the devastating war!

Today, Fadi opened his shop and he’s ready to utilize all the skills he had learned from his father to maintain a successful business. This project will surely make a positive change in his income and will be a new beginning in this family’s life who are now waiting impatiently for the new baby.

Connecting to the Land gives sense of belonging, it means more than just a source of living, it is about giving life.

Naeem is a farmer from Al-Hamra village (south of Homs) who devoted his life to taking care of his land, and throughout his long farming years, he grew different crops like wheat and barley in addition to many trees such as olives, almond, and grapes. 

His land is in a suitable location with arable and fertile soil, equipped with an irrigation system, which encouraged him to think further and expand, he studied about planting pistachio trees and found it suitable. However, starting this project without support was not easy since he is the sole provider for a big family consisting of his wife, his son, daughter, and his mother.

When Naeem heard about the Micro-Agricultural Projects Program, he got very excited to implement such a pilot project in the village, his project study was very interesting and his application was approved. He immediately prepared a part of his land by making pits for the pistachio seedlings to plant them at the right timing, which is during the first two months of the year.

Age was never an obstacle for an ambitious man like Naeem, who keeps studying new methods and working to improve the cultivation in his land with enthusiasm. Now he is looking forward to the results of his new experience. 

Like many graduates, Rafah couldn’t find a suitable job when she finished her studies as a pharmacist in 2019 and her family couldn’t afford helping her to open a pharmacy. 

She is the youngest daughter in her family; she lives with her mother Amal who is a retired government employee and her sister Razan, an employee at the University of Homs with a modest salary. 

Since she graduated, she has always dreamed of having her own pharmacy but unfortunately, the family has been living off her mother’s pension and Razan’s salary after her father passed away, and their income was barely enough for the daily needs during the hard economic circumstances. 

Life wasn’t fair with this young lady and when all her attempts to find a good job went in vain, Rafah started to lose hope, all she wanted was to support her family and alleviate their financial burdens. Having a pharmacy will fulfill her dream after postponing it for two years and will revive her hope, now she is ready to start the career she loves with passion hoping to maintain a successful business. 

Moukhles’s main profession is carpentry; he is a married man and a father of two daughters. Since he was young, he has always loved humanitarian work and volunteered in many activities with the church.

In 2013, he had the opportunity to work as a class supervisor for a center that specialized in vocational trainings for people with special needs. After three years, he became responsible for the carpentry class where he started to teach this profession and how to use its main machines safely.

Lately, the economic situation in the country started to get worse and his salary became insufficient for his family’s basic needs, so he decided to provide an additional income by utilizing his great skills in carpentry, and at the beginning of 2020, the church helped him and he managed to start a small workshop with modest capabilities. Although the equipment he had were worn out, he tried to focus on the artistic carpentry with all of his work, and that allowed him to have the chance of repairing many ancient wooden doors in more than a church in Homs.

Lately, the frequent blackouts plus the old equipment he had, slowed his productivity and decreased his income a lot. Buying an electric generator and new tools was almost impossible, as his income was barely enough to cover the household expenses.

Equipping his workshop especially with the electric generator will ensure him the best quality and better job opportunities. 

Gerges is a retired employee, he works in his mini-market that he opened back in 2000. 

He is the sole breadwinner for his wife Nadima, his daughter Reem and his son Abdo in addition to supporting his younger son’s family, Shadi who is married and currently serving in the army. 

His shop is one of the oldest shops in the area and being a well-liked person, helped him create good relations with his neighbors and to have many customers, which allowed him to have a successful business.

Unfortunately, just like all the other activities that have been hit hard by the economic crisis in the country, Gerges’s mini-market was heavily affected by the unstable prices, which made supplying the shop barely impossible. Losing his only source of livelihood was very hard especially for a man of his age who has been struggling all of his life to preserve a dignified life for his family. 

Helping him to revive his project will give him the strength to continue providing for the people who are depending on him. 

Samir is a husband and a father of 2 young kids that he devoted his life to providing them with what they need for a good life, especially for his son, who suffers from asthma and needs to visit the hospital every now and then to recover. 

Samir works two shifts every day as a valet at a hotel and even though he works for long hours he still barely makes enough to survive

Back in 2010, Samir used to own an optical shop, before the hand of terrorism reached it, costing him all that he built for long years. After losing everything, he was forced to start all over; He began working as a driver on the Lebanese-Syrian road, but disaster struck one year later when the border was closed due to covid, Samir was jobless again.

He didn’t give up, he tried to work in a Mosaic workshop in the mornings and drive a taxi in the evening for six months but the taxi owner took the car back, leading him to start the job as a valet at a hotel.

Samir also had a mother-in-law to take care of, who unfortunately passed away after she lost her battle with cancer.  He had to pay for her treatment costs. He and his family lived in her small house to save the rent money.

Now, through the Micro Project program, Samir will be supplied with a taxi to make money to support his family and pay off accumulated debts.

Nidal always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. He studied hard and graduated from law university in 2001. However, his family's financial situation prevented him from finishing his degree, and he had to work as a government employee after graduation. He also had to help his father in their small grocery shop next to their house.

Years went by, and in 2019, Nidal finally finished his studies and became a lawyer. He started working under the supervision of a professional attorney, and soon he began handling his own cases, slowly making his way up the ranks.

Despite his success, Nidal still faced struggles. He lived in his parent’s house with his wife, three kids, and two sisters. He was the main breadwinner for the family, with his wife working as a government employee and one of his sisters working as an elder’s nurse. Despite their combined efforts, the family barely made enough to survive.

Determined to change their situation, Nidal decided to open his own office. He knew that renting would be costly, so he decided to open in the same place where the family shop used to be. 

It wasn't easy starting his own business. Nidal had to balance work and family responsibilities. However, he persevered, working hard and putting in long hours to build up his client base.

Eventually, Nidal's office became true after he was funded by the micro-project program in Damascus with all the equipment he needs. 

Looking back, Nidal knew that his struggles only made him stronger. He was grateful for the opportunity to open his own office, which not only changed his life but also his family's future.

Wasef  was content with his work until the war broke out, forcing him to serve in the most dangerous areas. Despite the risks, he remained determined to survive. 

Years went by, and Wasef witnessed countless heart-wrenching moments that often left him with a heavy heart. However, in 2018, something even more devastating happened. While on duty, he got injured by being exposed to poisonous gas, causing him to lose one of his lungs.

Wasef's injuries limited his work options, and he found himself resorting to driving taxis to make his bread. He used to rent a taxi, but when the taxi owner had to take it back, he couldn't afford to rent another one. So, he started driving a microbus.

Despite his constant struggles, Wasef has a family to support. He has four kids, and his daughter, suffered from Thrombocytopenia, a blood disorder that required extensive treatment. The income from Wasef's retirement salary was barely enough, and what his son was earning from work was insignificant.

The family was facing financial difficulties and had to resort to selling some of their belongings to survive. Things were not easy for Wasef and his family, but they kept their spirits up and remained hopeful.

One day, Wasef applied to get a mini-van from a micro-project program in Damascus. The minivan would radically improve his life and that of his family. He was overjoyed, and the vehicle proved to be a blessing. He could drive the mini-van for longer hours without causing any health problems, and the extra income from it made a massive difference in his life.

The family had struggled for so long, but they had overcome their difficulties through love and support for each other. 

life had not been easy for Riad. He has two young children and a wife who works as a babysitter to help make ends meet, to add to his troubles, his two sisters were married to men that had been diagnosed with deadly diseases, and Riad took on the responsibility of supporting them as well.

Riad had always been a hard worker. For over 20 years he had worked with gold, crafting delicate and intricate pieces that were traded all around the markets. Despite the long hours, he had always enjoyed the precision and artistry that came with the job.

Despite these challenges, Riad was financially stable. He had managed to buy a house for himself and another one for his mother. He even worked on a pickup truck that he used to earn extra money with his business partner. But then the war came, and everything changed.

Riad lost 250g of gold due to the conflict, forcing him to close his business in 2012. He moved to Lebanon to work with gold there, but life for Syrians was difficult, and he had to return home less than a year later, jobless and struggling.

For six months, Riad searched for work with little success. But then he found a friend with a pickup truck that needed fixing up, and he spent a couple of months working on it. It wasn't the work he had been trained to do, but it was something. And then he changed to driving a taxi. He started driving part-time then turn it into his career.

With the support of the micro-project in Damascus, Riad is funded to buy his own taxi. It was a life-changing moment for him. He no longer had to pay rent for the taxi, and now he is able to work full-time, earning enough money to support his family and even help his sisters.

It wasn't the life he had imagined for himself, but Riad is grateful for what he have; his health, his family, and a job that provides for them.

Rawad was just a boy when he lost both his parents, he had to start working hard from a young age to make a living. He worked on farms in his hometown and various jobs here and there to make a living, but life was tough.

When the time came for Rawad to serve in the army in 2011, he was sent to one of the most dangerous area in Syria - Daraa where he spent 10 years on the frontlines, watching his fellow soldiers fall dead around him. In 2014 Rawad was injured in his chest, arm, and leg, and the shrapnel never came out, limiting his ability to do physical effort.

Rawad returned home, but things didn't get easier for him. He had to share a small room with his brother, who works in a mobile shop, in their grandparents' house in Damascus after they lost the family house. It was a far cry from the life Rawad had hoped for after his army service.

However, he was determined to make a new start. He started working on a pickup truck to transport fresh vegetables from his hometown to the markets in Damascus, hoping to make a good profit. It was tough work as he had to pay high rent for the truck owner which made him lose a lot from his profit.

Through Micro-project program in Damascus, he was funded by a pickup truck, with his new truck, Rawad is able to take on twice as many deliveries, increasing his profit and giving him the opportunity to provide for his future in a much more comfortable way. He could even deliver food and supplies to local markets

Despite everything that Rawad had gone through, he never gave up. He knew that life could be tough, but with hard work and determination, there is always a chance for a better future.

Randa was born and raised in the small village of Khabab, where her parents had settled after retiring. She lived with her family, which included her brother who serve in the army, and her sister who work as a teacher.

After completing her high school education, Randa was lucky to receive a scholarship to study in Damascus, along with her sister and brother; Randa worked hard to earn her degree and was overjoyed when she graduated.

Afterward, Randa started her career as a saleswoman for a medical company and later worked in the countryside for two years. She then worked in a pharmacy for another two years, with hopes of someday owning her own pharmacy but she didn't have enough money to make her dream a reality.

 However, with the help of the micro-project in Damascus, Randa was able to secure the funds she needed to open her own pharmacy; she is thrilled to start building her future career and to be able to support her parents. Her pharmacy will be a destination for locals seeking medical supplies.

Now Randa is the proud owner of her own thriving business in Damascus, and she couldn't be happier. With her hard work and determination, she was able to make her dreams come true.

Samer is a hardworking husband and loving father of two young children including a newborn baby. The four of them rent a small house in the countryside. He used to work in automotive electronics but had to stop due to a debilitating condition called Sciatica; this condition has not only prevented him from continuing to work in his field but has also limited his ability to work in any job because he is in immense constant physical pain.  

Samer needs surgery that could cost him over 4000 USD. As a result, he has been unable to provide for his family as he used to. His wife works as a nurse in a hospital to help with the living costs. However, the family still struggles to make ends meet. 

After working for two years as a private driver, Samer has been renting cars for his current job in distribution, which has been costing him much money; this is why he has a dream of buying a pick-up truck which he can use for distribution, it will provide Samer with much-needed mobility to provide for his family.

Nidal's life has been full of struggles and hardships that would have broken the resolve of the strongest men; Nidal has faced numerous challenges that have threatened his family's survival. He is a husband, a father, and a grandfather that had to endure the weight of responsibility for his loved ones' well-being.

With a small two-room house, Nidal's living conditions have never been the best. Still, he has managed to provide his family a roof over their heads. His eldest son works as a janitor at a local school, barely making enough to support his wife and daughter. The second son struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after surviving an attack while serving in Al Hasakah.

It's a battle that takes a significant toll on the whole family. Nidal's third son is currently serving in the military, taking any jobs he can to support himself.

Nidal once worked as a government employee, but life took an unexpected turn during the war, and he had to switch careers. He took a loan to buy a pickup truck, hoping to make a better life for himself and his family. Unfortunately, the war had other plans for him. Thieves stole parts off the van several times, leading him to sell it and began doing random jobs to make ends meet.

Despite the challenges, Nidal remains optimistic. The family is heavily dependent on receiving a small aid of food from a church that provides assistance to the needy.

Through the Micro Project program, Nidal is supplied with a pickup truck hopeful that one day he'll be able to provide a better life for his family, It's a hope that keeps him going one day at a time, working hard every day for a better tomorrow.

Youssef woke up to the sound of his mother's sewing machine that she used to earn some extra money. in the small rented house where they lived with his older brother. They had been struggling to make ends meet since his father passed away years ago. 

Youssef had studied in college, but the war situation forced him to leave and serve in the army from 2018 to 2021. It was a difficult time, but he managed to pull through with the support of his family. His brother had even volunteered for the special forces to save him during one of their missions.

After finishing his service, Youssef started working as a valet in a restaurant after his morning job as a worker at a food company. Youssef had dreams of making a career for himself, but being forced to quit his studies killed his dream and he knew that he needed to support his family first.

owning a taxi would be a game-changer for him. He could work independently, earn enough money to make a good living, support his family and give his mother who suffers from high blood pressure and heart disease good treatment.

Looking back, Youssef realized that his journey had been filled with struggles and hardships, but he was grateful for his family's love and support. He knew that every obstacle he overcame had made him stronger and more determined to succeed.

Sandra had always been the reliable one in her family. As the eldest child, she had taken on the role of mother and sister to her younger brother, especially after their mother passed away in 2012.

It was a devastating loss for the family, but especially for Sandra and her brother. Their mother had a heart attack after hearing about an explosion where her son was at that time. The trauma of losing her son overwhelmed her and led to her sudden death.

Their father got married a few years later and left Sandra and her brother to find their own way in life. Sandra tried to work with her multiple courses such as hairstyles, business management, photography, and tattoo arts but she didn’t have the tools to start any career. She couldn't even get a job in any of these fields without the required equipment.

It wasn't until her aunt gifted her a new phone that she saw a glimmer of hope. She decided to use it to kickstart her photography career, but unfortunately, it was stolen a couple of days later.

Sandra had to drop out of her university cause she had no financial support. She worked hard in different places just to bring home some money. She would borrow the business owners’ tools and work long hours despite barely earning enough to make ends meet.

But things changed when she heard about the micro-project Damascus. It was an initiative that provided funding for people like Sandra. She applied for it and was grateful when she received funds for tattoo arts tools.

Finally, with the right tools, Sandra was able to start pursuing her dream career. She opened her own tattoo studio. Now She has more time on her hands, she can spend more quality time with her brother and support him in his endeavors.

Sandra's hard work and determination paid off and she could finally breathe a sigh of relief. The difficult journey had led her to find her passion, and now she could share that with others. She knew her mother would be proud, and more importantly, her brother had a role model to look up to.
