Youssef lives with his wife, parents and sister in his family's house. After marriage he was planning to live in a borrowed house and he had started to renovate, but during the war the house was damaged. Then they traveled to Lebanon for three years but he didn’t succeed there so he came back to his country.

During his time in Lebanon, he worked as a blacksmith in a company, after which he worked for two years in maintaining air conditioners, but his income from this work was less than that of blacksmithing. For this reason, he started working in his father's workshop and using old tools and machines.

Unfortunately, after the earthquake that hit Syria, because of their fear they traveled to Hama for a short period of time.

As a young married man, he wants to be the boss of his own business & tools, this way he’d be able to secure his family’s needs and live in a separate house. Now all of these dreams are possible after he got funded.

Harout is 41 years old and a father of two daughters and a son, living in a rented house, his first job was in his father's shoe workshop, then they sold it to cover living expenses. Afterwards he started working as a plumber in a monastery and learned the profession there. 

In 2010 he traveled to Lebanon and continued in the same profession.
At the end of 2011 the family returned to Aleppo and bought a house, unfortunately after nearly just one month, they had to sell the house due to their financial instability; they moved between several provinces in search for a better life and during their absence, the plumbing kit that he has bought was stolen, after which they returned to Aleppo and settled here. 

Harout now works as a plumber in the Salesian monastery along with some other clients but his only problem is that he has a primitive kit so he rents the equipment, which constitutes additional costs.

Harout’s only wish is to raise his children under stable and good conditions, which requires him to search for new ways to increase his income and fulfill his family’s needs. Now with the fund he has all the equipment and he is looking forward to better days to come.

Mikhaiel is a newly married man who recently moved to a rental apartment subsequent to living in his parent’s house since his financial situation was unstable.

Mikhaiel started his career back in his early twenties when he rented his friend’s taxi and worked as an uber driver but this didn’t last long because he got called for military service in 2007 for two years and then he worked in a sewing workshop approximately for 8 years. 

In 2017 he got injured by a shrapnel in his leg and then he got recalled for reserve military service till the end of 2021. after his discharge he couldn’t turn back to the sewing domain because of his injury that made it hard on him to stand for long hours which led him to work as a keeper in a sewing workshop and that is where he currently works, but his income from this job is not enough to cover the livelihood expenses.

The consequences of the earthquake were harsh on his wife, it caused her onset of hemiplegia and her treatment expenses are high so his need to a new and better income became a necessity.

Mikhaiel heard about Hope Center’s Micro projects program and decided to apply for a taxi, because of his health condition this is the most appropriate job for him. Now that he owns the taxi, he is so thankful and full of hope that he will be capable of covering his wife’s medical treatment costs and their livelihood expenses.

Ghassan 55 years old has been working as a carpenter for more than 40 years, he learned this profession and worked in many workshops for more than twenty years, then he decided to become independent and work separately between homes and workshops upon request.

Today, Ghassan is the father of two sons who live in his grandmother’s house, after the loss of their own home, which he bought in 2012. As a result, the family moved to the city of Homs for 4 years to start over. He worked there again with his profession, and he was able to buy new equipment after his old equipment were stolen. 

Currently, his wife helps him with the daily expenses through her work as a teacher in a private school, and he works between homes and workshops, where his specialty is detailing bedrooms and upholstering chairs with primitive carpentry tools.

Ghassan now has a chance of a new start with the new equipment that helps him save time, effort, and expenses.

Pamela lives with her parents and her younger sister in a rented apartment, she has been working since she was 17 and they moved to Tartus to escape from the war and the shells that were falling all over Aleppo.

In Tartus she worked in so many different domains, later, she started taking photographs as a hobby then, that hobby turned to a passion and profession.

In 2017 the family came back to Aleppo and Pamela's friends were the biggest supporters who encouraged her to pursue her passion.

Pamela wanted to take her talent to the next level and upgrade her skills by taking a design and montage course along with continuous self-improving.

She specialized in surgical photography because one of her friends was a dentist who believed in her and they agreed on working together, which enlarged her customers' circle and she became a well-known photographer among doctors who prefer this kind of promotions.

Pamela didn’t have any professional equipment; she used her mobile phone’s camera and when the doctors demanded a professional camera, she had to rent it.

Today after the support of Micro Projects, she has all the equipment and the confident to work independently and increase her income. 

Katia is married with two kids; she loves to take care of her family and pamper them along with prioritizing time for her hobbies and her work.

Katia discovered her passion which was making pastries and sweets, she took a course from a professional chef to gain more knowledge in her specialization.

She started evolving slowly, and her first few orders were from her close friends and her relatives, everyone who tried her sweets and pastries encouraged her to keep up her good work and take it a step forward, Katia chose to work at home just so she’ll be next to her family and take care of them.

Later on, She got well-known and decided to participate in exhibitions to increase her income along with marketing purposes. Katia had some primitive tools that helped her so far but now that she has many more clients it requires her to renew and expand the equipment.

Hope Center’s fund helped to turn her dreams into a reality, and now that she has all the essential tools, she’ll be able to gain more orders confidently and help her husband with their family’s livelihood expenses.

Antoine is married with 2 kids, they live in a modest apartment, his wife and him both work hard for their daughters.

Antoine has made his way in this world by working at air conditioning maintenance since he was a young man, he started as a worker and after taking a course he developed his work range.

First few years of learning the profession were somehow harsh on him, but his aim and hard work paid off and he became skilled and wanted to be more independent; he was planning to open his own workshop, but his financial instability created an obstacle so he ended up as a partner in a workshop with a small share of the profit.

Soon after, the family’s expenses were getting bigger and bigger and his share of the profit was no longer enough as the only income source.

Micro project’s fund planted hope and joy in his soul, now that he is the boss of his own project and has all the machinery he needs, Antoine believes he will conquer most of the financial difficulties he may face in the future.

Antoine is a divorced man living with his daughter who is preparing for the bachelor’s exam and they live a small apartment.

Antoine had a vehicle which he used to drive when he was a round trip driver at a transportation company and he was satisfied with his income but after the war and its consequences the company decided to close and he became unemployed. 

Because he has a daughter to take care of, he needed to quickly search for a new income source so he rented a shop and opened a market from his savings but sadly his market got robbed, to refund his business he sold his car and worked till 2021, then the owner of the shop told him to move out. He started working as a bus driver at the deaf school where he works till now. However the expenses were increasing rapidly and the salary became insufficient. 

Now he got the Taxi, he is happy and thankful for being able to secure his family’s needs and insure a better income.

Mikhaiel served in military for 10 years and now he thrives to start his life from scratch; despite all the difficulties that he has been facing, decided to focus on the opportunities and not the obstacles.

He had started working in the rubber molding domain with his father since he was young, gained experience and even worked during the vacations of his military service.

Moreover, they've lost all of their equipment during the war due to the fact that their workshop’s region was under the control of armed groups for a long period of time. 

Now that he’s a father of two and also takes care of his parents accordingly his responsibility became bigger than ever, but that’s not a hindrance for him, cause he finds all the courage he needs every time he looks at his beautiful family.

So, he applied for Hope Center, hoping to use his great experience to commence his own business and provide a better life for his children. 

"I love my country Syria and I'll keep up working at my shop no matter what" 

Salem who is 66 years old, lives in one of the parish's houses with his wife and three children, during the war they were forced to leave their home for a short period of time and sadly his daughter got injured by a stray bullet and she is still carrying a piece of it in her hand, moreover his stationery shop was damaged by the missiles that were falling around it like rain.

Despite this all, he didn't lose hope and persisted to open his shop and tried to continue his regular life, because he is a strong-willed, hardworking person, who looks at life from a positive perspective, with considering the fact that he is the only breadwinner in his family, whose only wish is to secure the basics for his family.

The equipment that he has are from the day he opened the shop back to 1987, which became outdated and not useful anymore, that's why upgrading his shop became essential for him so that he won't lose more costumers.

With the help of Hope Center, Salem now has all the tools he needs that will increase his income and provide a decent life for his family.

Salim is a hardworking and strong-willed man, who lives with his three siblings along with being the main breadwinner in his family. 

Salim laid the foundation of his sewing experience back when he was young by helping his father in his free time and during his summer vacations.

In 1986, he opened his own workshop and everything was great, the business was profitable, which made him enlarge the project and specialize in sewing uniforms.

The story of his big success was torn apart after the war that hit Syria, which left him with a mounting burden of debt, later on he sold off most of his machinery and his workshop to pay them back.

But he didn’t give up and turned back to his business with the simple machinery that he has kept; day after day he realized, that what he makes is not enough comparing with the market demand.

Now, that he got the opportunity to open a new workshop and turn it step by step to what it was before, he is so thankful to Hope Center for giving him the chance to fulfill his family’s needs and livelihood expenses.

Everyone appreciates his valuable possessions and it is difficult to sell a property in order to face the difficulty of life and the difficult living conditions.

Ohaness faced this problem when he had to sell their house because of the lack of work at that time after he was discharged from the military.

He is 31 years old, served the military for more than nine years, now he lives with his brother, who serves in the military, and his mother in their small house.

He returned to his previous profession in rubber molding after completing his service. But his savings were not enough to open a business, he decided to apply to the Hope Center to get help with a purchase of a press machine.

This initiative helped him have the essential machine to continue and save the family's only source of livelihood. 

Being the eldest son, Faek became the only responsible for the family after the death of his father. He lives with his mother Wafaa who is a retired teacher, and his younger brother Fadi who newly graduated from the faculty of law and started looking for a job opportunity. 

Faek used to work in a mobile phone accessories shop for four years, when his father passed away; he decided to open his own shop where he could support his family by utilizing his experience and applying what he had studied in the institute of computer technology. In 2017, he rented a shop in a high-populated area and started working, his business was successful; he managed to compensate for a part of losing the head of the family by providing a decent income, which allowed his brother to continue his university studies.

Unfortunately, like many shops, Faek’s shop was heavily affected by the spread of COVID-19 and the shop was closed for two months, during the lockdown, the economic situation started to get harder and the high prices made it very difficult for him to keep up with the market and supply his shop with more goods. The shop became half empty and his income became barely enough for a family’s basic needs! 

This project is the main source of livelihood for Faek’s family. It’s time for to receive the support he deserves as he has always been supporting everyone around him.

Before the war, Attallah used to work in his hair salon, he was living a simple life with his wife and their three daughters and everything was going very well until the brutal war came and changed their life. 

In 2011, staying in the city was no longer safe; Attallah became unable to reach his salon, which was in an interface area, and later all of his equipment was stolen, this family fled from their house in Al-Hamidia to their home village Al-Jabrieh (near Homs) where they stayed for seven years. During the displacement period, Attallah had to leave his wife and daughters in the village and travel to Lebanon seeking a job opportunity just to provide for his family’s needs. 

The living costs in Lebanon were an additional financial burden on his shoulders and his income was not enough to cover all these increasing expenses. In 2018, Attallah went home, his family made their decision to start a new life together; they moved back to Homs and stayed in a rented apartment, while Attallah rented a salon with some essential equipment and started working. All these financial obligations were exhausting and put Attallah in serious trouble. Helping him to have his own equipment will release him from a real financial crisis and will give him the stability he needs to improve his livelihood and guarantee a better future for his daughters.

Although they tried so hard to stay and survive in their home city, Arotin’s family was forced by the armed groups to leave their life and memories behind, after long suffering in Al-Raqqa city. When they fled to the city of Homs, Arotin spent all his savings to help his children to travel for the sake of their safety. 

Arotin has been working as a car calibration technician for 45 years, after displacement, he moved with his wife to a rented house in Homs and within a very short period, they became well liked in the neighborhood. Despite his old age, he couldn’t stay without a job that would cover their basic needs, and with simple tools, Arotin started working in a small lot in front of his house and his neighbors supported him by providing many job requests, but his workshop lacked some essential equipment and he couldn’t offer many required services. 

Arotin lost a lot in the devastating war, and all he wants now is to preserve a dignified life without needing any help. Supporting his workshop will improve his business and compensate for a little part of his great losses. 

Manar is the only provider for his family, he lives with his wife, his two daughters, his son and his mother. In 1989, he started his career as a chef and worked in many different restaurants between Homs and the suburbs; this business had always been his only job and source of livelihood for more than 30 years. In 2020, Manar and his family decided to settle down in the city of Homs; he rented a shop near his house and started a new business, which was a sandwich shop. Everything went well for five months until one day; he had a heart attack that almost cost him his life while he was working, he went through a dangerous surgery and doctors advised him to stop working in this field because it became inconvenient for his health condition.

When he started to get better gradually, Manar thought of a way to provide for his family and found that opening a shop specialized in selling chocolate, coffee, salted nuts and some food commodities for kids would be useful as there was not such a shop in his neighborhood. At the beginning of 2021, Manar launched his new project but unfortunately, the hard economic circumstances and the rising prices had a negative impact on his newly opened shop, and supplying it with more goods became very difficult.

The only thing Manar hopes for today is to continue providing for his family and ensure them a decent life. This project is his last hope and the only thing he can do, supporting him will make a positive difference and will help him to improve his living situation. 

Faddaa is the sole responsible and support for her family, she is a married woman and a mother of two; a girl (Miranda 13 years old) and a boy (Emile 6 years old). 

Her start in the field of flower arranging was in her village Sadad (near Homs) back in 2000, she gained great experience in this profession and it became her passion in life. When she got married, she moved with her husband Ramez to the city of Homs where they settled down and opened a flower shop there. 

In 2011, the cruel war started and this family was displaced to their village and stayed until the beginning of 2018, like many Syrian families, Faddaa and Ramez decided to travel seeking a better life for their children; they sold everything they had and traveled to Erbil. Unfortunately, while staying there, Ramez had a sudden health condition and needed intensive medical care, the hospital costs were too expensive and Faddaa spent all of their savings. After 6 months, this family was forced to return home and Ramez continued his treatment; he went through a Colectomy and many other surgeries until he gradually started to improve. 

Faddaa had to find a source of livelihood for her family after all the losses they experienced; she rented a small shop in Al-Hamidia and started working with simple equipment, which made her miss on many clients' requests. Her responsibilities became heavier and she needed support to preserve a dignified life for her family.

This project is the last hope to give Fadaa the strength to overcome all the hard circumstances which the family lived and to have a new beginning. 

Abdo has been working in the Electrical Installation and Maintenance since 1996, he gained great experience through the years by working between Syria and Qatar. He is the only provider for his wife Olga, his son Samir (5 years old) and his daughter Naya (2 years old). 

The cruel war forced this family to leave their own house and move to a safer neighborhood where they stayed in a rented apartment and later, they lost everything they had; their house in Al-Hamidia and the equipment Abdo used to work with. Unfortunately, the only choice left for them was to stay and start from scratch. Abdo managed to buy some simple tools and worked by borrowing the essential equipment from his cousin whenever he had a job opportunity, but that was impractical as it limited his productivity and income.

Buying the needed equipment and tools will help him to continue working and ensure a dignified life for the family. With the wide experience he has, it’s time for Abdo to make up for all the previous losses and have a fresh start with his career.

After losing his house and shop, Wadih and his family decided to move on and start a new life from scratch. Wadih is an electrical engineer who works in the field of electric devices maintenance, he is a married man and a father of two; a girl Maggie (13 years old) and a boy Ghaith (11 years old). the family is living with the mother-in-law Samira (83 years old) after being displaced from home. 

Wadih didn’t give up during all these tough times, a church helped him to purchase some simple tools; he managed to rent a small place as a workshop and started working in 2017. Providing for his family during the economic crisis became harder, especially that the modest tools he had were an obstacle in his way, and deprived him of many work offers. Unfortunately, he couldn’t afford buying the important equipment and the electric generator he needs.

This family suffered a lot because of the vicious war, and Wadih tried his best to compensate for their great losses, supporting his source of livelihood will be the only way to help them forget all the tough times they lived. Having the essential equipment will also allow him to utilize his long experience in the best way to improve his family’s situation.

Nothing could've stopped Haifaa from pursuing her ambitions, she kept trying despite all the hardships until she achieved her goal. 

Haifaa is a married woman, she lives with her husband Toni who is a wall-painter, her two sons; Aziz (4 years old), Zain (3 years old) and her mother-in-law Laurece. When she finished school, she joined a vocational center where she learned hairstyling, then opened her first salon in her village Qatineh (near Homs) back in 1995. In 2016, Haifaa and Toni got married and decided to move to the city of Homs; Haifaa packed all of her equipment and rented a salon there. Within a short period, she managed to build a great reputation between the other salons depending on her wide experience in this field.

Everything was going very well until the unexpected happened! Unfortunately, COVID-19 started to spread in 2020 and stopped all the activities of life, Haifaa had to close her rented salon and kept her equipment in a warehouse, but this place wasn’t prepared for that and all of the equipment was damaged due to the humidity.

Haifaa didn’t give up and she started giving vocational training to other women for a living but her income was insufficient to equip a new salon from the scratch, after 26 years of experience, she didn’t expect that one day she would lose what she is really passionate about!

This project is like a hope that Haifaa thought she had lost, reopening a salon revived her self-confidence and now she is ready to start all over again with the great skills she has hoping to improve her family’s situation during the severe economic crisis.

Issa is a maintenance technician, he inherited this profession from his father 35 years ago, and became responsible for their workshop which his father first opened in 1952. He lives with his wife Najwa and their two daughters; Reina and Layal who are university students. His wife used to work as an employee and they were both helping each other in providing for their small family.

Unfortunately, during the last few years, Najwa was diagnosed with a rare disease, which caused her visual problems; she lost sight in one of her eyes and became unable to work anymore. The treatment costs were too expensive and the family spent all of their savings until her health condition started to gradually stabilize. 

The severe inflation affected Issa’s business a lot and the income he got from the maintenance services became insufficient for his family’s basic needs; his financial burdens became heavier especially that he became the sole breadwinner after his wife’s illness. 

Issa thought of a way to get his family out of their serious financial crisis, he found that selling electrical devices in addition to his work in maintenance would allow him to provide a decent income for them, but he couldn’t afford all these expenses on his own and he needed some help to improve his livelihood. By purchasing the needed equipment, it will ensure a better income and more stability for Issa and his family during the hard economic circumstances. 

Khalil spent his youth in his home village Rableh (near Homs) where he grew up and took his first steps in life. He is a blacksmith; he started working in this field 13 years ago and loved this profession until it became his passion. 

Seeking a better living was all he had in mind, when he moved to the city of Homs after losing his workshop in Rableh, he rented a small workshop and a church helped him to buy some equipment. Today, Khalil lives alone in his relative’s house but during these hard economic circumstances, his income is barely enough to cover his daily needs. Khalil's workshop still lacks a lot of essential equipment, and that of course makes him lose many important job opportunities and decreases his productivity.

This project is Khalil’s last hope in continuing the only thing he loves to do, hoping to find the stability he has been looking for and start his own family in the near future.

Jihad is a blacksmith, he started his own workshop thirty years ago in the industrial area, and within a short period, he became well known among the other craftsmen for his great skills in this field. Jihad lives with his wife Mai, his daughter Joelle and his son Elia in a rented apartment, and he is the only breadwinner for the family. 

When the war started in Homs, this family fled to Fairouza (a village near Homs) after losing their house in Wadi Al-Sayeh neighborhood and like many Syrian families, they started from scratch. In 2015, they decided to go back home; Jihad reopened his workshop and started working again in his profession which he missed a lot. Unfortunately, as a result of closing his workshop for a long time, some of the essential equipment were worn out and the frequent blackouts affected the productivity in the workshop and decreased Jihad’s income.

Starting all over again was not easy, but with the long experience he has, Jihad is willing to compensate for all the losses, and having the required equipment will strengthen his project and help him to ensure his family the dignified life they deserve after all the difficulties they suffered.

Samir is a husband and a father of 2 young kids that he devoted his life to providing them with what they need for a good life, especially for his son, who suffers from asthma and needs to visit the hospital every now and then to recover. 

Samir works two shifts every day as a valet at a hotel and even though he works for long hours he still barely makes enough to survive

Back in 2010, Samir used to own an optical shop, before the hand of terrorism reached it, costing him all that he built for long years. After losing everything, he was forced to start all over; He began working as a driver on the Lebanese-Syrian road, but disaster struck one year later when the border was closed due to covid, Samir was jobless again.

He didn’t give up, he tried to work in a Mosaic workshop in the mornings and drive a taxi in the evening for six months but the taxi owner took the car back, leading him to start the job as a valet at a hotel.

Samir also had a mother-in-law to take care of, who unfortunately passed away after she lost her battle with cancer.  He had to pay for her treatment costs. He and his family lived in her small house to save the rent money.

Now, through the Micro Project program, Samir will be supplied with a taxi to make money to support his family and pay off accumulated debts.

Nidal always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. He studied hard and graduated from law university in 2001. However, his family's financial situation prevented him from finishing his degree, and he had to work as a government employee after graduation. He also had to help his father in their small grocery shop next to their house.

Years went by, and in 2019, Nidal finally finished his studies and became a lawyer. He started working under the supervision of a professional attorney, and soon he began handling his own cases, slowly making his way up the ranks.

Despite his success, Nidal still faced struggles. He lived in his parent’s house with his wife, three kids, and two sisters. He was the main breadwinner for the family, with his wife working as a government employee and one of his sisters working as an elder’s nurse. Despite their combined efforts, the family barely made enough to survive.

Determined to change their situation, Nidal decided to open his own office. He knew that renting would be costly, so he decided to open in the same place where the family shop used to be. 

It wasn't easy starting his own business. Nidal had to balance work and family responsibilities. However, he persevered, working hard and putting in long hours to build up his client base.

Eventually, Nidal's office became true after he was funded by the micro-project program in Damascus with all the equipment he needs. 

Looking back, Nidal knew that his struggles only made him stronger. He was grateful for the opportunity to open his own office, which not only changed his life but also his family's future.

Wasef  was content with his work until the war broke out, forcing him to serve in the most dangerous areas. Despite the risks, he remained determined to survive. 

Years went by, and Wasef witnessed countless heart-wrenching moments that often left him with a heavy heart. However, in 2018, something even more devastating happened. While on duty, he got injured by being exposed to poisonous gas, causing him to lose one of his lungs.

Wasef's injuries limited his work options, and he found himself resorting to driving taxis to make his bread. He used to rent a taxi, but when the taxi owner had to take it back, he couldn't afford to rent another one. So, he started driving a microbus.

Despite his constant struggles, Wasef has a family to support. He has four kids, and his daughter, suffered from Thrombocytopenia, a blood disorder that required extensive treatment. The income from Wasef's retirement salary was barely enough, and what his son was earning from work was insignificant.

The family was facing financial difficulties and had to resort to selling some of their belongings to survive. Things were not easy for Wasef and his family, but they kept their spirits up and remained hopeful.

One day, Wasef applied to get a mini-van from a micro-project program in Damascus. The minivan would radically improve his life and that of his family. He was overjoyed, and the vehicle proved to be a blessing. He could drive the mini-van for longer hours without causing any health problems, and the extra income from it made a massive difference in his life.

The family had struggled for so long, but they had overcome their difficulties through love and support for each other. 

life had not been easy for Riad. He has two young children and a wife who works as a babysitter to help make ends meet, to add to his troubles, his two sisters were married to men that had been diagnosed with deadly diseases, and Riad took on the responsibility of supporting them as well.

Riad had always been a hard worker. For over 20 years he had worked with gold, crafting delicate and intricate pieces that were traded all around the markets. Despite the long hours, he had always enjoyed the precision and artistry that came with the job.

Despite these challenges, Riad was financially stable. He had managed to buy a house for himself and another one for his mother. He even worked on a pickup truck that he used to earn extra money with his business partner. But then the war came, and everything changed.

Riad lost 250g of gold due to the conflict, forcing him to close his business in 2012. He moved to Lebanon to work with gold there, but life for Syrians was difficult, and he had to return home less than a year later, jobless and struggling.

For six months, Riad searched for work with little success. But then he found a friend with a pickup truck that needed fixing up, and he spent a couple of months working on it. It wasn't the work he had been trained to do, but it was something. And then he changed to driving a taxi. He started driving part-time then turn it into his career.

With the support of the micro-project in Damascus, Riad is funded to buy his own taxi. It was a life-changing moment for him. He no longer had to pay rent for the taxi, and now he is able to work full-time, earning enough money to support his family and even help his sisters.

It wasn't the life he had imagined for himself, but Riad is grateful for what he have; his health, his family, and a job that provides for them.

Rawad was just a boy when he lost both his parents, he had to start working hard from a young age to make a living. He worked on farms in his hometown and various jobs here and there to make a living, but life was tough.

When the time came for Rawad to serve in the army in 2011, he was sent to one of the most dangerous area in Syria - Daraa where he spent 10 years on the frontlines, watching his fellow soldiers fall dead around him. In 2014 Rawad was injured in his chest, arm, and leg, and the shrapnel never came out, limiting his ability to do physical effort.

Rawad returned home, but things didn't get easier for him. He had to share a small room with his brother, who works in a mobile shop, in their grandparents' house in Damascus after they lost the family house. It was a far cry from the life Rawad had hoped for after his army service.

However, he was determined to make a new start. He started working on a pickup truck to transport fresh vegetables from his hometown to the markets in Damascus, hoping to make a good profit. It was tough work as he had to pay high rent for the truck owner which made him lose a lot from his profit.

Through Micro-project program in Damascus, he was funded by a pickup truck, with his new truck, Rawad is able to take on twice as many deliveries, increasing his profit and giving him the opportunity to provide for his future in a much more comfortable way. He could even deliver food and supplies to local markets

Despite everything that Rawad had gone through, he never gave up. He knew that life could be tough, but with hard work and determination, there is always a chance for a better future.

Randa was born and raised in the small village of Khabab, where her parents had settled after retiring. She lived with her family, which included her brother who serve in the army, and her sister who work as a teacher.

After completing her high school education, Randa was lucky to receive a scholarship to study in Damascus, along with her sister and brother; Randa worked hard to earn her degree and was overjoyed when she graduated.

Afterward, Randa started her career as a saleswoman for a medical company and later worked in the countryside for two years. She then worked in a pharmacy for another two years, with hopes of someday owning her own pharmacy but she didn't have enough money to make her dream a reality.

 However, with the help of the micro-project in Damascus, Randa was able to secure the funds she needed to open her own pharmacy; she is thrilled to start building her future career and to be able to support her parents. Her pharmacy will be a destination for locals seeking medical supplies.

Now Randa is the proud owner of her own thriving business in Damascus, and she couldn't be happier. With her hard work and determination, she was able to make her dreams come true.

Samer is a hardworking husband and loving father of two young children including a newborn baby. The four of them rent a small house in the countryside. He used to work in automotive electronics but had to stop due to a debilitating condition called Sciatica; this condition has not only prevented him from continuing to work in his field but has also limited his ability to work in any job because he is in immense constant physical pain.  

Samer needs surgery that could cost him over 4000 USD. As a result, he has been unable to provide for his family as he used to. His wife works as a nurse in a hospital to help with the living costs. However, the family still struggles to make ends meet. 

After working for two years as a private driver, Samer has been renting cars for his current job in distribution, which has been costing him much money; this is why he has a dream of buying a pick-up truck which he can use for distribution, it will provide Samer with much-needed mobility to provide for his family.

Through the micro-project program in Damascus, Samer was funded to buy a pickup truck, giving him a new beginning to start his own career, support his family financially and get some stability.

Nidal's life has been full of struggles and hardships that would have broken the resolve of the strongest men; Nidal has faced numerous challenges that have threatened his family's survival. He is a husband, a father, and a grandfather that had to endure the weight of responsibility for his loved ones' well-being.

With a small two-room house, Nidal's living conditions have never been the best. Still, he has managed to provide his family a roof over their heads. His eldest son works as a janitor at a local school, barely making enough to support his wife and daughter. The second son struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after surviving an attack while serving in Al Hasakah.

It's a battle that takes a significant toll on the whole family. Nidal's third son is currently serving in the military, taking any jobs he can to support himself.

Nidal once worked as a government employee, but life took an unexpected turn during the war, and he had to switch careers. He took a loan to buy a pickup truck, hoping to make a better life for himself and his family. Unfortunately, the war had other plans for him. Thieves stole parts off the van several times, leading him to sell it and began doing random jobs to make ends meet.

Despite the challenges, Nidal remains optimistic. The family is heavily dependent on receiving a small aid of food from a church that provides assistance to the needy.

Through the Micro Project program, Nidal is supplied with a pickup truck hopeful that one day he'll be able to provide a better life for his family, It's a hope that keeps him going one day at a time, working hard every day for a better tomorrow.

Youssef woke up to the sound of his mother's sewing machine that she used to earn some extra money. in the small rented house where they lived with his older brother. They had been struggling to make ends meet since his father passed away years ago. 

Youssef had studied in college, but the war situation forced him to leave and serve in the army from 2018 to 2021. It was a difficult time, but he managed to pull through with the support of his family. His brother had even volunteered for the special forces to save him during one of their missions.

After finishing his service, Youssef started working as a valet in a restaurant after his morning job as a worker at a food company. Youssef had dreams of making a career for himself, but being forced to quit his studies killed his dream and he knew that he needed to support his family first.

owning a taxi would be a game-changer for him. He could work independently, earn enough money to make a good living, support his family and give his mother who suffers from high blood pressure and heart disease good treatment.

With the fund of the micro-project in Damascus, Youssef's life changed. He now can work and make good money. He knows that he still has a long way to go, but owning his taxi had given him a sense of purpose and hope for a better future.

Looking back, Youssef realized that his journey had been filled with struggles and hardships, but he was grateful for his family's love and support. He knew that every obstacle he overcame had made him stronger and more determined to succeed.

Sandra had always been the reliable one in her family. As the eldest child, she had taken on the role of mother and sister to her younger brother, especially after their mother passed away in 2012.

It was a devastating loss for the family, but especially for Sandra and her brother. Their mother had a heart attack after hearing about an explosion where her son was at that time. The trauma of losing her son overwhelmed her and led to her sudden death.

Their father got married a few years later and left Sandra and her brother to find their own way in life. Sandra tried to work with her multiple courses such as hairstyles, business management, photography, and tattoo arts but she didn’t have the tools to start any career. She couldn't even get a job in any of these fields without the required equipment.

It wasn't until her aunt gifted her a new phone that she saw a glimmer of hope. She decided to use it to kickstart her photography career, but unfortunately, it was stolen a couple of days later.

Sandra had to drop out of her university cause she had no financial support. She worked hard in different places just to bring home some money. She would borrow the business owners’ tools and work long hours despite barely earning enough to make ends meet.

But things changed when she heard about the micro-project Damascus. It was an initiative that provided funding for people like Sandra. She applied for it and was grateful when she received funds for tattoo arts tools.

Finally, with the right tools, Sandra was able to start pursuing her dream career. She opened her own tattoo studio. Now She has more time on her hands, she can spend more quality time with her brother and support him in his endeavors.

Sandra's hard work and determination paid off and she could finally breathe a sigh of relief. The difficult journey had led her to find her passion, and now she could share that with others. She knew her mother would be proud, and more importantly, her brother had a role model to look up to.
