Youssef lives with his wife, parents and sister in his family's house. After marriage he was planning to live in a borrowed house and he had started to renovate, but during the war the house was damaged. Then they traveled to Lebanon for three years but he didn’t succeed there so he came back to his country.

During his time in Lebanon, he worked as a blacksmith in a company, after which he worked for two years in maintaining air conditioners, but his income from this work was less than that of blacksmithing. For this reason, he started working in his father's workshop and using old tools and machines.

Unfortunately, after the earthquake that hit Syria, because of their fear they traveled to Hama for a short period of time.

As a young married man, he wants to be the boss of his own business & tools, this way he’d be able to secure his family’s needs and live in a separate house. Now all of these dreams are possible after he got funded.

Harout is 41 years old and a father of two daughters and a son, living in a rented house, his first job was in his father's shoe workshop, then they sold it to cover living expenses. Afterwards he started working as a plumber in a monastery and learned the profession there. 

In 2010 he traveled to Lebanon and continued in the same profession.
At the end of 2011 the family returned to Aleppo and bought a house, unfortunately after nearly just one month, they had to sell the house due to their financial instability; they moved between several provinces in search for a better life and during their absence, the plumbing kit that he has bought was stolen, after which they returned to Aleppo and settled here. 

Harout now works as a plumber in the Salesian monastery along with some other clients but his only problem is that he has a primitive kit so he rents the equipment, which constitutes additional costs.

Harout’s only wish is to raise his children under stable and good conditions, which requires him to search for new ways to increase his income and fulfill his family’s needs. Now with the fund he has all the equipment and he is looking forward to better days to come.

Mikhaiel is a newly married man who recently moved to a rental apartment subsequent to living in his parent’s house since his financial situation was unstable.

Mikhaiel started his career back in his early twenties when he rented his friend’s taxi and worked as an uber driver but this didn’t last long because he got called for military service in 2007 for two years and then he worked in a sewing workshop approximately for 8 years. 

In 2017 he got injured by a shrapnel in his leg and then he got recalled for reserve military service till the end of 2021. after his discharge he couldn’t turn back to the sewing domain because of his injury that made it hard on him to stand for long hours which led him to work as a keeper in a sewing workshop and that is where he currently works, but his income from this job is not enough to cover the livelihood expenses.

The consequences of the earthquake were harsh on his wife, it caused her onset of hemiplegia and her treatment expenses are high so his need to a new and better income became a necessity.

Mikhaiel heard about Hope Center’s Micro projects program and decided to apply for a taxi, because of his health condition this is the most appropriate job for him. Now that he owns the taxi, he is so thankful and full of hope that he will be capable of covering his wife’s medical treatment costs and their livelihood expenses.

Ghassan 55 years old has been working as a carpenter for more than 40 years, he learned this profession and worked in many workshops for more than twenty years, then he decided to become independent and work separately between homes and workshops upon request.

Today, Ghassan is the father of two sons who live in his grandmother’s house, after the loss of their own home, which he bought in 2012. As a result, the family moved to the city of Homs for 4 years to start over. He worked there again with his profession, and he was able to buy new equipment after his old equipment were stolen. 

Currently, his wife helps him with the daily expenses through her work as a teacher in a private school, and he works between homes and workshops, where his specialty is detailing bedrooms and upholstering chairs with primitive carpentry tools.

Ghassan now has a chance of a new start with the new equipment that helps him save time, effort, and expenses.

Pamela lives with her parents and her younger sister in a rented apartment, she has been working since she was 17 and they moved to Tartus to escape from the war and the shells that were falling all over Aleppo.

In Tartus she worked in so many different domains, later, she started taking photographs as a hobby then, that hobby turned to a passion and profession.

In 2017 the family came back to Aleppo and Pamela's friends were the biggest supporters who encouraged her to pursue her passion.

Pamela wanted to take her talent to the next level and upgrade her skills by taking a design and montage course along with continuous self-improving.

She specialized in surgical photography because one of her friends was a dentist who believed in her and they agreed on working together, which enlarged her customers' circle and she became a well-known photographer among doctors who prefer this kind of promotions.

Pamela didn’t have any professional equipment; she used her mobile phone’s camera and when the doctors demanded a professional camera, she had to rent it.

Today after the support of Micro Projects, she has all the equipment and the confident to work independently and increase her income. 

Katia is married with two kids; she loves to take care of her family and pamper them along with prioritizing time for her hobbies and her work.

Katia discovered her passion which was making pastries and sweets, she took a course from a professional chef to gain more knowledge in her specialization.

She started evolving slowly, and her first few orders were from her close friends and her relatives, everyone who tried her sweets and pastries encouraged her to keep up her good work and take it a step forward, Katia chose to work at home just so she’ll be next to her family and take care of them.

Later on, She got well-known and decided to participate in exhibitions to increase her income along with marketing purposes. Katia had some primitive tools that helped her so far but now that she has many more clients it requires her to renew and expand the equipment.

Hope Center’s fund helped to turn her dreams into a reality, and now that she has all the essential tools, she’ll be able to gain more orders confidently and help her husband with their family’s livelihood expenses.

Antoine is married with 2 kids, they live in a modest apartment, his wife and him both work hard for their daughters.

Antoine has made his way in this world by working at air conditioning maintenance since he was a young man, he started as a worker and after taking a course he developed his work range.

First few years of learning the profession were somehow harsh on him, but his aim and hard work paid off and he became skilled and wanted to be more independent; he was planning to open his own workshop, but his financial instability created an obstacle so he ended up as a partner in a workshop with a small share of the profit.

Soon after, the family’s expenses were getting bigger and bigger and his share of the profit was no longer enough as the only income source.

Micro project’s fund planted hope and joy in his soul, now that he is the boss of his own project and has all the machinery he needs, Antoine believes he will conquer most of the financial difficulties he may face in the future.

Antoine is a divorced man living with his daughter who is preparing for the bachelor’s exam and they live a small apartment.

Antoine had a vehicle which he used to drive when he was a round trip driver at a transportation company and he was satisfied with his income but after the war and its consequences the company decided to close and he became unemployed. 

Because he has a daughter to take care of, he needed to quickly search for a new income source so he rented a shop and opened a market from his savings but sadly his market got robbed, to refund his business he sold his car and worked till 2021, then the owner of the shop told him to move out. He started working as a bus driver at the deaf school where he works till now. However the expenses were increasing rapidly and the salary became insufficient. 

Now he got the Taxi, he is happy and thankful for being able to secure his family’s needs and insure a better income.

Mikhaiel served in military for 10 years and now he thrives to start his life from scratch; despite all the difficulties that he has been facing, decided to focus on the opportunities and not the obstacles.

He had started working in the rubber molding domain with his father since he was young, gained experience and even worked during the vacations of his military service.

Moreover, they've lost all of their equipment during the war due to the fact that their workshop’s region was under the control of armed groups for a long period of time. 

Now that he’s a father of two and also takes care of his parents accordingly his responsibility became bigger than ever, but that’s not a hindrance for him, cause he finds all the courage he needs every time he looks at his beautiful family.

So, he applied for Hope Center, hoping to use his great experience to commence his own business and provide a better life for his children. 

"I love my country Syria and I'll keep up working at my shop no matter what" 

Salem who is 66 years old, lives in one of the parish's houses with his wife and three children, during the war they were forced to leave their home for a short period of time and sadly his daughter got injured by a stray bullet and she is still carrying a piece of it in her hand, moreover his stationery shop was damaged by the missiles that were falling around it like rain.

Despite this all, he didn't lose hope and persisted to open his shop and tried to continue his regular life, because he is a strong-willed, hardworking person, who looks at life from a positive perspective, with considering the fact that he is the only breadwinner in his family, whose only wish is to secure the basics for his family.

The equipment that he has are from the day he opened the shop back to 1987, which became outdated and not useful anymore, that's why upgrading his shop became essential for him so that he won't lose more costumers.

With the help of Hope Center, Salem now has all the tools he needs that will increase his income and provide a decent life for his family.

Salim is a hardworking and strong-willed man, who lives with his three siblings along with being the main breadwinner in his family. 

Salim laid the foundation of his sewing experience back when he was young by helping his father in his free time and during his summer vacations.

In 1986, he opened his own workshop and everything was great, the business was profitable, which made him enlarge the project and specialize in sewing uniforms.

The story of his big success was torn apart after the war that hit Syria, which left him with a mounting burden of debt, later on he sold off most of his machinery and his workshop to pay them back.

But he didn’t give up and turned back to his business with the simple machinery that he has kept; day after day he realized, that what he makes is not enough comparing with the market demand.

Now, that he got the opportunity to open a new workshop and turn it step by step to what it was before, he is so thankful to Hope Center for giving him the chance to fulfill his family’s needs and livelihood expenses.

Everyone appreciates his valuable possessions and it is difficult to sell a property in order to face the difficulty of life and the difficult living conditions.

Ohaness faced this problem when he had to sell their house because of the lack of work at that time after he was discharged from the military.

He is 31 years old, served the military for more than nine years, now he lives with his brother, who serves in the military, and his mother in their small house.

He returned to his previous profession in rubber molding after completing his service. But his savings were not enough to open a business, he decided to apply to the Hope Center to get help with a purchase of a press machine.

This initiative helped him have the essential machine to continue and save the family's only source of livelihood. 

Life taught Maurice how to take responsibility for a family at a very young age after his father passed away. Since then, his mother Suzan who is a teacher did everything she could to compensate for her four children's great loss, and the whole family was depending on her salary for a living. 

Maurice is a 22-year-old veterinary student who lives with his mother, brother, and two sisters in a simple house in Ozeir village. He took upon himself the responsibility of supporting his family when his mother’s salary became hardly enough for their increasing needs under the hard circumstances in the country. 

He started reading about farming on the internet and gained a good experience, and with his brother’s help, they started working in their father’s land, and experimented by planting different kinds of trees and vegetables trying to alleviate the heavy burdens on their mother’s shoulders. 

Although the land helped this family to get a better income, having a mini-cultivator was essential to raise its productivity and save their effort as they were renting a cultivator to plow their land, the thing that meant splitting their revenue with the owner of the cultivator and making less profits. 

Maurice managed to find the balance between his studies and his duties towards the family and we are hoping that the offered support will draw a brighter future for this enthusiastic young man. 

This story isn't much different from all the other devastating stories caused by the cruel war in Syria! Like many Syrian families, this family was displaced from their home at Al-Hamidia neighborhood with the start of the war until the situation became more stable in the Old city of Homs when Rami's family decided to go home, during that time his family had already grown with two beautiful children; Hussam (8 years old) and Patricia (7 years old).

Rami worked as a plumber since 2004, and the sole provider for his family of four. After he got back to his workshop, he found out that most of his equipment were stolen, so he had to work with simple tools he had left with and only among his clients' houses. Unfortunately, that took a lot of effort and time as he lacks most of the important equipment due to its high prices, which affected his income and made it insufficient to support his family.

Providing Rami with the needed equipment and tools will surely open up wider job opportunities for him, which will reflect positively on his income and help him to secure a better life for his family.

Hanaa is a married woman and a mother of three; two sons and a daughter. Her husband has been suffering for eleven years from heart disease and went through many surgeries which put huge financial burdens on the family.

In 1992, she opened a sewing supplies shop to help her husband but after the war, life became harder and the economic crisis affected small businesses so heavily. Since Hanaa was young she had many hobbies like making handmade items and candles, she became very good at these crafts and mastered them, after her husband's severe illness she found that it’s time to use these skills in strengthening her work so she added “candles making and decorating ” service to her shop, people loved this idea and Hanaa sold a lot of decorated candles.

However, by the beginning of 2020 Corona Virus began to spread which was combined with a dramatic rise in prices, all these factors affected Hanaa’s shop negatively and weakened it as she became unable to provide her shop with the essential primary materials and other merchandises.

Hanaa heard about the Micro Projects Program and thought to herself that this is her great chance to revive her job again, support her family, and most importantly encourage her children to complete their education during these hard circumstances. 

Kamal inherited his father’s shop which was opened 40 years ago, this shop has always been known for meeting all the needs of any family with wide variation in food commodities and cleaning products. Kamal lives with his wife, his daughter and his son and he is the sole provider for the family.

The devastating war on Syria caused a sharp increase in prices and low purchasing power, the business was affected badly and it became harder to buy new goods. thus, the sales rate dropped which reflected on the income and made it insufficient for a family of four. 

Raising the level of work in his shop, improving the provided services and covering all of his customers' needs were Kamal’s main purpose when he applied to the Micro Projects Program.

Getting the needed support helped him to revive his business and now his shop is back to the way it was before and hopefully it will thrive more and more. 

Katia’s life turned upside down when her husband, the only provider for the family was diagnosed with brain cancer. Katia is a mother of three; two daughters and a son, this family was living peacefully at their house in Homs until 2011, the year that their life was changed forever.

This family was displaced from their home but their real suffering began when the head of the family started his battle with cancer. In 2014, the city of Homs became safe and Katia’s family returned home, at that time she was forced to find a source of livelihood to support her family. Her brother-in-law Anwar helped her and they opened a small grocery shop together where her husband can help them as this job doesn’t require a lot of effort. 

While Anwar is a married man who lives with his wife and three daughters, the war left him a bad memory too when one day he got injured by a shell and lost vision in one of his eyes. 

This mini market was the only hope left for them despite all the hardships they experienced. Supporting their life project will definitely make a positive difference and ensure a better life for the two families.

Wissam (35 years old) who works in a mobile phones store is the sole provider for his father and mother. He started learning about this domain in 2013 when he was working in someone's else store, he worked there for 3 years and when he mastered this profession he was able to open his own store in 2016, he rented a store in a good location in a densely populated area, and indeed, this store helped him to stand on his feet.

Unfortunately, his success didn't last for long as a result of the economic crisis which caused a deterioration in his profits, in addition to the spread of COVID-19 which affected his business greatly.

Despite all these hardships, Wissam found hope when he heard about the Micro Projects Program, the support he got was what he exactly needed to revive his business and be able to take care of his family.

As a young man, war affected Elia’s plans for his future and nothing encouraged him to start a project during the siege and clashes in his home city, all these difficulties left him hesitant and lost, which forced him to leave his country in 2012 to start a new job in Lebanon and worked there for four years.

Finally, when things got better and life started recovering again in the city of Homs, Elia decided to come back, he settled down in his parents’ house and opened a grocery and dairy shop where his father helped him.

Unfortunately, in the past few years, the ramifications of the economic crisis began to appear and reflect negatively on Elia's shop causing a severe shortage of food commodities and basic goods that decreased his ability to meet his clients’ needs.

Getting the needed support revived the hope in Elia’s heart for a better days to come, and now he can think of starting his own family.

War has divided many Syrian families and Elias’s family was one of them. Elias is a married man and a father of three sons; his elder son was martyred in the war while the other son left the country seeking a better life. 

Today, Elias is living with his wife and his son Rami who chose to stay with them, Elias used to work in a small shop he opened in 2004, this shop has always been his only source of income but unfortunately, economic inflation was a real problem and it became very hard to supply his shop with more goods.

Life was very tough on a man of his age and after all the tragedies he went through, Elias decided to stand on his feet and continue. Supporting his project helped him to overcome all the bad memories he had and gave him and his family hope to have a fresh start. 

Shaza used to work as a hairdresser for 23 years, she is a single woman who lives with her old mother whom she is responsible for.

The nature of this job requires standing for long hours which caused Shaza many health problems and forced her to quit and think of another way to make a living. In 2019, she rented a shop, her shop was the only shop in Al-Hamidia neighborhood after the war and everything went well for the first few months. 

Unluckily, things changed as a result of prices inflation and Covid-19 which made it more difficult for her to purchase new goods. Her sales rate dropped with the income too, one day a friend told Shaza about the Micro Projects program and advised her to apply, so she applied immediately then got the help she needs to strengthen her business. This support revived her self-confidence again and encouraged her to continue her career as a working woman despite all the difficulties.

Ruba has many dreams just like all the other girls of her age, one of her dreams was having a peaceful life with her family at their lovely home! Unfortunately, the brutality of war destroyed everything she looked forward to and also with them her family's only home.

The family had to hide from the falling shells in the shelter for a period of time, but the suffering didn't stop there and the family lost some of their loved ones, Ruba's family had no choice but to flee from their village to the city of Homs.

Her father, the only provider for the family worked in Homs as a driver until one day he got injured by an explosion and lost his vehicle, his only source of livelihood. Ruba wanted to help her father in supporting the family as her brother is serving in the army, she was very close to churches and she found that no one is specialized in preparing scented frankincense so churches have to buy it from outside the city. As a result of her good relation with the church, a priest helped her to find a monastery where she learned how to prepare this material.

Today after all she went through, it's time for Ruba to put everything behind and to start her project, this way she would be able to help her family and to dream again of a better future.

Wael used to work as a chef in many restaurants since 1991, one day his health suddenly deteriorated and the left side of his body became completely paralyzed. He needed a long time to recover gradually, being the sole provider for his family of six; three children, his wife and his mother, he opened a vegetable and fruit shop to support his family. 

Unfortunately, the income he got from this shop was very low and not enough to support his family, he had no choice but to develop his project in other ways, so he decided to add a new service to his project which was vegetables preparing and freezing, to provide such a service Wael needed a lot of essential equipment he couldn’t afford like a refrigerator and an electric bicycle because the transporting costs are very high and also it’s very important for distributing.

Today, after he had all the needed supplies and equipment, Wael has a group of people working with him and he aspires to deal with more restaurants and customers. This project was like a dream came true and new hope for this family.

Samir is a husband and a father of 2 young kids that he devoted his life to providing them with what they need for a good life, especially for his son, who suffers from asthma and needs to visit the hospital every now and then to recover. 

Samir works two shifts every day as a valet at a hotel and even though he works for long hours he still barely makes enough to survive

Back in 2010, Samir used to own an optical shop, before the hand of terrorism reached it, costing him all that he built for long years. After losing everything, he was forced to start all over; He began working as a driver on the Lebanese-Syrian road, but disaster struck one year later when the border was closed due to covid, Samir was jobless again.

He didn’t give up, he tried to work in a Mosaic workshop in the mornings and drive a taxi in the evening for six months but the taxi owner took the car back, leading him to start the job as a valet at a hotel.

Samir also had a mother-in-law to take care of, who unfortunately passed away after she lost her battle with cancer.  He had to pay for her treatment costs. He and his family lived in her small house to save the rent money.

Now, through the Micro Project program, Samir will be supplied with a taxi to make money to support his family and pay off accumulated debts.

Nidal always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. He studied hard and graduated from law university in 2001. However, his family's financial situation prevented him from finishing his degree, and he had to work as a government employee after graduation. He also had to help his father in their small grocery shop next to their house.

Years went by, and in 2019, Nidal finally finished his studies and became a lawyer. He started working under the supervision of a professional attorney, and soon he began handling his own cases, slowly making his way up the ranks.

Despite his success, Nidal still faced struggles. He lived in his parent’s house with his wife, three kids, and two sisters. He was the main breadwinner for the family, with his wife working as a government employee and one of his sisters working as an elder’s nurse. Despite their combined efforts, the family barely made enough to survive.

Determined to change their situation, Nidal decided to open his own office. He knew that renting would be costly, so he decided to open in the same place where the family shop used to be. 

It wasn't easy starting his own business. Nidal had to balance work and family responsibilities. However, he persevered, working hard and putting in long hours to build up his client base.

Eventually, Nidal's office became true after he was funded by the micro-project program in Damascus with all the equipment he needs. 

Looking back, Nidal knew that his struggles only made him stronger. He was grateful for the opportunity to open his own office, which not only changed his life but also his family's future.

Wasef  was content with his work until the war broke out, forcing him to serve in the most dangerous areas. Despite the risks, he remained determined to survive. 

Years went by, and Wasef witnessed countless heart-wrenching moments that often left him with a heavy heart. However, in 2018, something even more devastating happened. While on duty, he got injured by being exposed to poisonous gas, causing him to lose one of his lungs.

Wasef's injuries limited his work options, and he found himself resorting to driving taxis to make his bread. He used to rent a taxi, but when the taxi owner had to take it back, he couldn't afford to rent another one. So, he started driving a microbus.

Despite his constant struggles, Wasef has a family to support. He has four kids, and his daughter, suffered from Thrombocytopenia, a blood disorder that required extensive treatment. The income from Wasef's retirement salary was barely enough, and what his son was earning from work was insignificant.

The family was facing financial difficulties and had to resort to selling some of their belongings to survive. Things were not easy for Wasef and his family, but they kept their spirits up and remained hopeful.

One day, Wasef applied to get a mini-van from a micro-project program in Damascus. The minivan would radically improve his life and that of his family. He was overjoyed, and the vehicle proved to be a blessing. He could drive the mini-van for longer hours without causing any health problems, and the extra income from it made a massive difference in his life.

The family had struggled for so long, but they had overcome their difficulties through love and support for each other. 

life had not been easy for Riad. He has two young children and a wife who works as a babysitter to help make ends meet, to add to his troubles, his two sisters were married to men that had been diagnosed with deadly diseases, and Riad took on the responsibility of supporting them as well.

Riad had always been a hard worker. For over 20 years he had worked with gold, crafting delicate and intricate pieces that were traded all around the markets. Despite the long hours, he had always enjoyed the precision and artistry that came with the job.

Despite these challenges, Riad was financially stable. He had managed to buy a house for himself and another one for his mother. He even worked on a pickup truck that he used to earn extra money with his business partner. But then the war came, and everything changed.

Riad lost 250g of gold due to the conflict, forcing him to close his business in 2012. He moved to Lebanon to work with gold there, but life for Syrians was difficult, and he had to return home less than a year later, jobless and struggling.

For six months, Riad searched for work with little success. But then he found a friend with a pickup truck that needed fixing up, and he spent a couple of months working on it. It wasn't the work he had been trained to do, but it was something. And then he changed to driving a taxi. He started driving part-time then turn it into his career.

With the support of the micro-project in Damascus, Riad is funded to buy his own taxi. It was a life-changing moment for him. He no longer had to pay rent for the taxi, and now he is able to work full-time, earning enough money to support his family and even help his sisters.

It wasn't the life he had imagined for himself, but Riad is grateful for what he have; his health, his family, and a job that provides for them.

Rawad was just a boy when he lost both his parents, he had to start working hard from a young age to make a living. He worked on farms in his hometown and various jobs here and there to make a living, but life was tough.

When the time came for Rawad to serve in the army in 2011, he was sent to one of the most dangerous area in Syria - Daraa where he spent 10 years on the frontlines, watching his fellow soldiers fall dead around him. In 2014 Rawad was injured in his chest, arm, and leg, and the shrapnel never came out, limiting his ability to do physical effort.

Rawad returned home, but things didn't get easier for him. He had to share a small room with his brother, who works in a mobile shop, in their grandparents' house in Damascus after they lost the family house. It was a far cry from the life Rawad had hoped for after his army service.

However, he was determined to make a new start. He started working on a pickup truck to transport fresh vegetables from his hometown to the markets in Damascus, hoping to make a good profit. It was tough work as he had to pay high rent for the truck owner which made him lose a lot from his profit.

Through Micro-project program in Damascus, he was funded by a pickup truck, with his new truck, Rawad is able to take on twice as many deliveries, increasing his profit and giving him the opportunity to provide for his future in a much more comfortable way. He could even deliver food and supplies to local markets

Despite everything that Rawad had gone through, he never gave up. He knew that life could be tough, but with hard work and determination, there is always a chance for a better future.

Randa was born and raised in the small village of Khabab, where her parents had settled after retiring. She lived with her family, which included her brother who serve in the army, and her sister who work as a teacher.

After completing her high school education, Randa was lucky to receive a scholarship to study in Damascus, along with her sister and brother; Randa worked hard to earn her degree and was overjoyed when she graduated.

Afterward, Randa started her career as a saleswoman for a medical company and later worked in the countryside for two years. She then worked in a pharmacy for another two years, with hopes of someday owning her own pharmacy but she didn't have enough money to make her dream a reality.

 However, with the help of the micro-project in Damascus, Randa was able to secure the funds she needed to open her own pharmacy; she is thrilled to start building her future career and to be able to support her parents. Her pharmacy will be a destination for locals seeking medical supplies.

Now Randa is the proud owner of her own thriving business in Damascus, and she couldn't be happier. With her hard work and determination, she was able to make her dreams come true.

Samer is a hardworking husband and loving father of two young children including a newborn baby. The four of them rent a small house in the countryside. He used to work in automotive electronics but had to stop due to a debilitating condition called Sciatica; this condition has not only prevented him from continuing to work in his field but has also limited his ability to work in any job because he is in immense constant physical pain.  

Samer needs surgery that could cost him over 4000 USD. As a result, he has been unable to provide for his family as he used to. His wife works as a nurse in a hospital to help with the living costs. However, the family still struggles to make ends meet. 

After working for two years as a private driver, Samer has been renting cars for his current job in distribution, which has been costing him much money; this is why he has a dream of buying a pick-up truck which he can use for distribution, it will provide Samer with much-needed mobility to provide for his family.

Through the micro-project program in Damascus, Samer was funded to buy a pickup truck, giving him a new beginning to start his own career, support his family financially and get some stability.

Nidal's life has been full of struggles and hardships that would have broken the resolve of the strongest men; Nidal has faced numerous challenges that have threatened his family's survival. He is a husband, a father, and a grandfather that had to endure the weight of responsibility for his loved ones' well-being.

With a small two-room house, Nidal's living conditions have never been the best. Still, he has managed to provide his family a roof over their heads. His eldest son works as a janitor at a local school, barely making enough to support his wife and daughter. The second son struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after surviving an attack while serving in Al Hasakah.

It's a battle that takes a significant toll on the whole family. Nidal's third son is currently serving in the military, taking any jobs he can to support himself.

Nidal once worked as a government employee, but life took an unexpected turn during the war, and he had to switch careers. He took a loan to buy a pickup truck, hoping to make a better life for himself and his family. Unfortunately, the war had other plans for him. Thieves stole parts off the van several times, leading him to sell it and began doing random jobs to make ends meet.

Despite the challenges, Nidal remains optimistic. The family is heavily dependent on receiving a small aid of food from a church that provides assistance to the needy.

Through the Micro Project program, Nidal is supplied with a pickup truck hopeful that one day he'll be able to provide a better life for his family, It's a hope that keeps him going one day at a time, working hard every day for a better tomorrow.

Youssef woke up to the sound of his mother's sewing machine that she used to earn some extra money. in the small rented house where they lived with his older brother. They had been struggling to make ends meet since his father passed away years ago. 

Youssef had studied in college, but the war situation forced him to leave and serve in the army from 2018 to 2021. It was a difficult time, but he managed to pull through with the support of his family. His brother had even volunteered for the special forces to save him during one of their missions.

After finishing his service, Youssef started working as a valet in a restaurant after his morning job as a worker at a food company. Youssef had dreams of making a career for himself, but being forced to quit his studies killed his dream and he knew that he needed to support his family first.

owning a taxi would be a game-changer for him. He could work independently, earn enough money to make a good living, support his family and give his mother who suffers from high blood pressure and heart disease good treatment.

With the fund of the micro-project in Damascus, Youssef's life changed. He now can work and make good money. He knows that he still has a long way to go, but owning his taxi had given him a sense of purpose and hope for a better future.

Looking back, Youssef realized that his journey had been filled with struggles and hardships, but he was grateful for his family's love and support. He knew that every obstacle he overcame had made him stronger and more determined to succeed.

Sandra had always been the reliable one in her family. As the eldest child, she had taken on the role of mother and sister to her younger brother, especially after their mother passed away in 2012.

It was a devastating loss for the family, but especially for Sandra and her brother. Their mother had a heart attack after hearing about an explosion where her son was at that time. The trauma of losing her son overwhelmed her and led to her sudden death.

Their father got married a few years later and left Sandra and her brother to find their own way in life. Sandra tried to work with her multiple courses such as hairstyles, business management, photography, and tattoo arts but she didn’t have the tools to start any career. She couldn't even get a job in any of these fields without the required equipment.

It wasn't until her aunt gifted her a new phone that she saw a glimmer of hope. She decided to use it to kickstart her photography career, but unfortunately, it was stolen a couple of days later.

Sandra had to drop out of her university cause she had no financial support. She worked hard in different places just to bring home some money. She would borrow the business owners’ tools and work long hours despite barely earning enough to make ends meet.

But things changed when she heard about the micro-project Damascus. It was an initiative that provided funding for people like Sandra. She applied for it and was grateful when she received funds for tattoo arts tools.

Finally, with the right tools, Sandra was able to start pursuing her dream career. She opened her own tattoo studio. Now She has more time on her hands, she can spend more quality time with her brother and support him in his endeavors.

Sandra's hard work and determination paid off and she could finally breathe a sigh of relief. The difficult journey had led her to find her passion, and now she could share that with others. She knew her mother would be proud, and more importantly, her brother had a role model to look up to.
