Micro-Projects is a livelihood-support program which helps family providers who had either lost their livelihood during the war,
or aspire to be a productive and financially independent part of the community by starting their own income generating business.
By financing their micro-projects, Christian Hope Center is helping Christian families to have a sustainable source of income,
through the provision of equipment, machinery and tools.
This will eventually mitigate the economic harm caused by increasing poverty and insecurity, preserve their dignity,
and alleviate the calamities of war and the economic crisis, which will ultimately preserve the existence of an active Christian community in Syria.
In addition to the Micro-Projects supported in Cities of Aleppo, Homs and Damascus,
the program also supports families who rely on agriculture as their principal source of income in rural Homs.

Throughout the war period, Ghassan was unable to reach the land, which was in a dangerous location; unfortunately, the land had become abandoned and the negligence caused a deterioration in the crops.
A few years later, his long service as an employee came to an end, and the couple decided to settle down in their village, they prepared a house which cost them a big amount of their savings and they had to find an additional source of income to live on as Ghassan's pension was barely enough to cover some daily needs and the land was their last resort. Their financial resources were only enough to plant half of the land, they planted the land without being able to provide a suitable irrigation method; while the land had a well, it lacked the needed equipment to draw the water, so they had to rent a tractor for watering.
Ghassan's brother, Marwan, encouraged him to apply for a water pump in order to make use of the well and save the high rent costs, as this well is located between Ghassan and his two brothers' lands, making it an important watering source for three farmlands.
Although Ghassan and Joyce couldn't plant their whole land, having a sustainable source of water will help them to continue and improve their life project.

While staying in Al-Sabeel neighborhood, he noticed that there were no hair salons in the area which encouraged this ambitious man to rent a small place and start his project to fulfill the clients' needs.
Nekoula's salon served ladies from the whole surrounding area but unfortunately, he couldn't afford to buy an electric generator, which affected his productivity and deprived him a big amount of his profits. He applied for an electric generator to save his only source of livelihood, especially with the requent blackouts, and achieve his independence.

After more than 50 years of unlimited giving from the heart; the 74-year-old man never stopped supporting his family, despite the exhaustion. Uncle Azar is a floor tiler who lives with his wife Hind and their son George who works with him.
The cruel war had left no choice for this family but to leave their home like many families from Al-Hamidia neighborhood. During the first two years, they had the chance to stay in a relative’s house then moved to a rented apartment for six years; in 2021, a local association helped them repair their damaged house and return after eight years of displacement.
Life has changed a lot after the war; the lack of electricity has become a real obstacle in the way of all the activities in the country. Lately, Azar’s work has been interrupted because of the power shortage in addition to using his old equipment which decreased his productivity.
Giving up is not a choice for this hardworking man, by supporting him with the new tiling equipment he will continue working in the profession he loves challenging all the hard circumstances.

Unfortunately, life can never be truly lived without some sort of suffering and pain. George's life has changed since the day his wife was diagnosed with cancer; the family had to sell their only house to cover the treatment costs, but all their efforts to save her failed when she sadly passed away in 2016 after a painful battling journey.
Today, George lives with his elder son Elian who is a floor tiler in a rented apartment, while his other two sons are serving in the army. It was so hard for a man like him to stay at home without a job waiting for his son to provide for the house, but at the same time, it was impossible for a man of his age to continue in his previous job in construction work.
One day, George was in the church and saw a poster about the Micro Projects Program that encouraged him to think of a project which would be suitable for his condition. The mini pick-up truck was suitable because it would be a good source of livelihood and doesn't require much physical effort.
All the hardships George went through didn't weaken his determination to continue, with his long experience and wisdom in life, he will surely be able to maintain a successful career.

Having no former experience in any profession, and only limited financial abilities was a real challenge, however, Samer decided to use his driving skills and considered the possibility of relying on them as a living source. After some search, he found that a mini pick-up truck would be profitable in Homs city which is full of opportunities that he could take advantage of, like distributing vegetables and fruits, cooperating with some stores and workshops, even with craftsmen who need to transport their heavy equipment on a daily basis.
All the positive results he got from studying the local market encouraged him to apply for a mini pick-up truck. Finally, the father of two will be able to ensure the stability he has been seeking, and will have some peace of mind about the upcoming days.

Upon discharge, he returned to his roots in Khabab, opening a pastry shop until 2014 when adversity struck, so he relocated his shop to the Al-Dukhanieh area in Damascus, but the situation wasn't any better there as violent incidents and armed conflict took place in the area which resulted in the loss of his shop.
Undeterred, he adopted a novel approach, distributing goods via electric bicycles until 2019 when he was called again for the reserve service for three years before resuming the distribution of goods and biscuits, using his brother's electric bicycle.
Presently, Dhyaa toils in the morning as a warehouse worker, and by dusk, continues his work on a bicycle, aspiring to have a pick-up truck for efficient distribution, which would improve his income and release him from the hard morning work.
considering this tapestry of trials and challenges, Dhyaa was supported by the Micro project program to purchase his own pick-up truck hoping to empower his unwavering spirit in the face of adversity, improve his living conditions, and preserve his dignity.
