Tarek, a war victim from Homs, endured a cruel eight-year mandatory military service. His life changed forever when he sustained a severe injury between his heart and left shoulder, resulting in a 30% disability. This injury left him unable to perform any work that required physical effort, significantly impacting his future prospects.

Living in a rented apartment with his wife and their baby boy, his modest salary as an employee barely covered their needs. His wife, a dedicated school teacher, also earned a modest salary. Despite their hardships, Tarek was determined to secure a better future for their son.

Seeking stability and financial security, he applied to the Micro Projects Program. He proposed acquiring a mini pick-up truck, a venture well-suited to his health condition. This project represented hope, a chance to provide a more stable and secure life for his growing family.

Michel's journey bears the weight of war's cruel toll. Once bustling with dreams, his path twisted when he was called to serve mandatory military service, leaving him marked by injury and uncertainty. 

From driving around the streets to distributing goods to the fast-food kitchen, his hands knew hard work until he had to join the army. Yet, fate intervened, his head injury took his livelihood and made him in search of stability.

In the aftermath, he dared to dream anew, opening a humble mini-market, only to be swept away by the huge inflation. However, despite the tough times he went through, he worked as a cleaner, embracing the dignity of labor.

Since his youth, Mouab's life was full of challenges and difficulties, but he never lost hope, and by continuing to work hard, he was able to overcome all obstacles and reach his goals. 

Mouab began his work during his university education as he took jobs in various fields, from working in a packaging factory to working as a guard trying his best to support himself and his family. In 2013 Mouab was kidnapped for 10 days, tortured and beaten, and had to pay a ransom for his release. This incident affected him both on the physical and psychological sides as he needed long time to recover. 

Despite this tragedy, he never gave up and continued his career with determination and resolve but later on, he started to suffer from health issues; he had to undergo a disc operation in the neck which prevented him from continuing his previous work and affected his financials.

All that Mouab sought was a better future for his family which encouraged him to apply for the taxi, which became a turning point in his life as he got the opportunity to have his own source of income with dignity and secure his living expenses. 

After having the taxi, Mouab's journey towards independence and success began, as he was finally able to pursue his future with full confidence and faith after years of hardships. 

Yaser Al-Jaber, 49, is a caring father and husband who lives along with his wife and kids on the ground floor at his parents' house in Al-Dwallaa, while his elderly parents and his two sisters Suhaila and Rihab reside upstairs.

Yaser had worked for years in elevators' installation, dealing with heavy loads and demanding effort. However, an accident in 2011 changed everything as he fell from the fourth floor and was left with multiple fractures, shattered bones in his left arm, hip, and foot which forbade him from continuing such physically demanding work.

With medical bills piling up and unable to cover the expenses, Yaser was in desperate need of any source of income, so he took a job as a driver at the same company he was working at trying his best to make ends meet, but his financial situation was dire, especially with the responsibility of supporting both households. 

Yaser knew he needed to make a change in his life so he applied for the taxi project at the Micro Project Center, hoping for a chance to turn his life around.

Indeed, Yaser received funding to purchase a taxi which marked a significant turning point in his life.

With his own independent source of income, Yaser can now provide for his family and secure a dignified living for his loved ones. 

Wael Qarra, 33, faced significant challenges since his parents' separation. He moved in with his mother and sister to a rented house in the Al-Dwallaa neighborhood and had to work tirelessly to make ends meet. Wael started his career in 2016 distributing cosmetics, while his sister, Mirna, worked in a copper engraving workshop, all in pursuit of a modest livelihood.

As the primary provider for his family following his parents' split, Wael has shouldered this responsibility since his youth. With the economic situation in the country worsening, he was overloaded by the weight of increasing living expenses. out of his dire need of a sustainable income source, Wael turned to the Micro Project Center, seeking assistance in acquiring a pick-up car that would afford him the independence to expand his work and generate a higher income.

Receiving support from the Micro Projects Program marked a turning point in Wael's life. It empowered him to break free from dependence to rely on his own efforts to secure a better life for his family. Today, he is grateful for the opportunity that has transformed his circumstances and enabled him to provide a decent living for his loved ones.

At the age of 61, Ibrahim Al-Nassar, found himself at a crossroads in life, as he retired recently due to health issues, and started to face mounting financial pressures especially since his daughter, Talia, required costly medications for her thyroid condition, while his son, Awad, had just graduated from high school.

On the other hand, he was living in a modest house with his elderly father and disabled sister and was also responsible for their living.

With his health condition and age, Ibrahim knew he couldn't return to his previous job as a wall painter or do any physical demanding work and was in dire need of a project that would fit his circumstances so he applied for assistance from the Hope Center, hoping for a project that could provide a sustainable income.

Receiving the approval for the pick-up car project was a turning point for Ibrahim because it not only provided him with a means of independent income, but also lifted a significant burden off his shoulders and he no longer had to worry about making ends meet.

This project brought newfound stability to Ibrahim's life as he could finally provide his family with the dignified life they deserve. 

In a narrow alley in Bab Sharqi, lives Elias, a 37-year-old young man, with his retired parents and his wife Linda, who is currently studying human resources to secure future employment and assist her husband. Elias started working at a young age to support his family and faced many challenges in securing the livelihood demands, as he shoulders the responsibility of providing for his own family as well as his in-laws, being their sole provider.

Elias works as a sales representative distributing prepaid phone credits within Damascus, due to a lack of transportation that hindered his ability to reach some areas. However, with the worsening economic situation and the rising cost of living, his income became inadequate to meet expenses.

Then recently, he faced significant financial burdens when his mother suffered a stroke due to high blood pressure, resulting in substantial medical expenses which forced him to on the assistance of relatives to cover the treatment costs, while his father also struggled with a mental illness requiring medication and treatment on daily basis.

Despite the hardships, Elias persisted in facing those challenges with determination and resilience but he was in need to expand his business and reach remote areas of rural Damascus which drove him to apply for support to purchase a pickup truck from the Hope Center.

Today, after being supported to purchase his own vehicle, Elias feels grateful as it has enabled him to expand his business and increase his income significantly. This has greatly improved his financial situation, and he is now determined to succeed and achieve his dreams, not only for himself and his family but also in the hope of securing a better future.
