Zawin is a hardworking person who strive for his family; his wife and two sons.

Zawin has been working in the production and upholstery of cars since 2005 and has added through his experience in the production of Arab Majlis seating. Zawin had to make a lot of sacrifices in his work, 5 years ago the place where he works was exposed to a fire that resulted in the loss of all existing equipment and goods. 

Living a decent life and supporting his family has become a constant struggle for Zawin, which forced him to borrow a machine from one of his friends in order for the family to survive, and he also works in a factory for the production and upholstery of car furnishing, his permanent goal in life is to obtain complete and permanent independence.

Zawin felt very grateful and joyful for the support, today he is motivated to achieve his goal in life and help his family to secure a dignified living. 

“Where words fail, music speaks.” That’s how George replied when we asked him about the reason behind his love for music. 

Since he was an 8-year-old, George was fascinated by music and the industry in general.

His parents decided to enroll him in a music institute where he chose to learn Cello, his love for music didn’t stop there, he used to go to his uncle’s studio to watch him produce music for many artists. After a short time, he started helping his uncle with his work for 15 years till the war started.

In 2011 George joined the army and served his country for 10 years, in this decade a lot changed; during this time, he lost many of his friends in the army and his family was in danger back home, it was very tough for him to go through all that by himself.

After finishing his service George found himself back at the starting point, not knowing what to do and where to head. Despite everything, he refused to give up and decided to follow his passion for music and try to turn it into a career.

With a big dream and lots of plans, he applied for the Micro-Projects program to get the support he needed to start. Now George has a small studio in which he records and produces music for many local artists.

George is married and has worked in the carpentry profession since childhood with more than 40 years of experience, he had a full workshop with a kit, but because of the war he lost the workshop with the entire equipment, unfortunately, he cannot return to his former work area because its still under control of armed groups.

During war his home was exposed to a shell explosion, which led to great damage to the house, as a result, the family was displaced for more than 10 years. 

Because of his great experience in His profession and his desire to develop his business, George applied to the Micro Projects in order to buy a machine that helps him save time and increase his income, George launched his project and added new models to his work that helped him bring new customers, which led to an increase in his monthly profits.

The Micro Projects Program was able to achieve one of George's goals, to help him strive to work harder and develop faster. 

Hilda is a lovely married woman who works in the church and her husband works as a driver for the church as well, because of the difficult life that Syrian families are going through, Hilda's family went through harsh conditions, which led to financial burdens, the earthquak made things worse because their house was greatly damaged.

when we are exposed to immense loss, we try to look for any small light in order to start a new chapter in life even if it is delayed; Hilda started working in knitting and she was sending the pieces that need a stitch and a knit to a sewing shop, as she does not have the necessary machines, which was for her a waste of time and great difficulty in receiving a larger number of customers, so Hilda decided to apply to the center to develop her small project in home sewing, in order to save time and increase her family's income.

Micro Projects Program was able to help Hilda to be able to take a step forward in her field of work and to overcome the difficulties she faces in her daily life. 

Elias is an example of the patient and strong father who faces life’s challenges for his family, Elias is married and has two sons, one of whom is serving in military, life challenged Elias differently at each stage, in the period of war he was displaced from his home, and his son was exposed to a war injury during his mandatory service time. 

Corona came to be one of the most difficult periods he went through; it kept him away from his work and family, but as Elias said:  "Our Mother Mary did not abandon me and helped me overcome this ordeal." Elias now works as a guard in a private school in Aleppo with a low salary, he wants to improve his income, so he decided to apply for a taxi, which he sees as a strong source in order to meet the requirements of life and his family's expenses.

At the end of the meeting Elias said that his dream is to be able to buy a taxi so he can be more financially independent, and he achieved this dream to be his first strong step in the face of life hardships.

The years of war were not easy for Fadi's family, however, it didn't stop them from pursuing their dreams of living in peace and stability. Fadi’s family suffered a lot during the war, especially in the first years as Fadi is a resident of the village of Al-Jadeeda in the Idlib countryside, which is one of the Christian villages in the city of Idlib. He was displaced with his family from the village after they were besieged by armed groups.

At the beginning of the war in 2011, Fadi volunteered to defend his land against the armed groups, then He was discharged from the army in 2021 after serving for ten years.

Before the war, Fadi worked in the aluminum craft in his village. He had a shop since 2004, but he lost it afyer leaving the village towards Kasab. In his last years of service, he worked in this profession during his spare hours intending to return to it after service..

After his discharge, he moved to Aleppo to settle there and began working in the aluminum field, but his income was not enough to secure the family’s needs, and he strived hard to start his project to secure a sufficient source of income for his family.

The Micro Projects Program was able to fulfill this family's dream of stability, and Fadi now has his own shop, which will enable him to provide a decent life for his family.

Elias is a strong man who defied the difficulties of life for the sake of his family’s happiness despite all the harsh circumstances he went through. 

Elias is married and has three children, he suffered a lot during the war; he had a taxi in 2014, but unfortunately it was destroyed by a shell in 2016, despite the difficulty of the situation he was able to overcome this incident for the sake of his children and started working as a driver for a local institution with a modest salary.

Elias held-on to hope, his many losses during the war did not disappoint him, and despite the suffering of life, he was not satisfied with his little income, he kept searching for an opportunity to improve his situation and a ray of hope that would change his life; for him it was a taxi that he would work on after his shift to help him secure a better income, Elias applied for micro projects and upon approval his joy was indescribable. Today Elias looks forward to starting a new life chapter full of hope and blessings.

Naeem is an example of strong personality who will face crises with positive adaptation without suppression or confusion, married and has two sons, he works in the field of sanitary installations, solar energy installation and electricity extension.

Naeem tried to develop himself in his domain of work despite all the difficulties and challenges he faced, he is a creative person who added with his experience of more than 15 years working in the field of central heating, he rented a shop in order to start a stable life and a small family. 

Despite many difficulties and the war that hit Aleppo, Naeem did not leave the city and remained working hard to secure a good future for his children, his house was damaged by the earthquake and he did not despair and was able to restore it.

Naeem applied for the necessary equipment which will help him increase his income and secure the needs of his family. He believes that everything will turn out for the best, and that tomorrow is more beautiful, Hopefully this project will be the beginning of beautiful days for him and his family.

Samar is a mother of three children and a clinical nutritionist, she obtained her degree in food technical engineering from the city of Aleppo, and works in the field of food engineering in several clinics affiliated with the churches. 

Samar is a persistent woman; despite all the difficulties and challenges, she completed her studies during war, and did not give up her childhood dream. She had a strong desire to open her own center, specializing in following up the conditions of pregnant women and also cases of growth in children, diabetes, in addition to Botox injections in the stomach to treat obesity. 

The war was harsh on Samar and her family, in 2013 her husband was kidnapped and they had tp pay a ransom of  5000$, her husband's factory was robbed in 2014, the family was also displaced to Latakia because their area of residence was unsafe, Samar did not despair despite all the hardships, she was able to work in the National Hospital in Latakia for 3 years and then returned to Aleppo in 2019 

Samar applied to the center to get support for her project with the needed devices. The new phase in Samar's life has now begun with ambition and determination to continue her passion in life

Dr. Ghassan have been working in the clinic for more than 30 years, he has extensive experience in the field of dentistry, his work was greatly affected during the war because his place was exposed to a lot of shells, and when the area became safe, he decided to develop his clinic's devices because the equipment was worn-out that it became dilapidated.

The earthquake destroyed all Ghassan’s dreams for the enhancement of his clinic and his house from which he and his family were able to get out safe and sound, and because life must go on, Ghassan decided to submit an application in order to develop his project with support from the Micro Projects.

Ghassan held-on to hope despite all the difficulties of life that he faced in the past, the strength that he possesses despite all the challenges and crises that he went through, his patience and will can overcome every painful hardship.

Dr. Ghassan launched his project with the new devices that helped him develop the clinic and achieve part of his dreams that he patiently longed for. 

Since childhood, Masses has been ambitious snd creative, he works in the field of women's hairdressing, his profession depends on good taste in order to satisfy customers, he has practiced this profession since childhood with at least 30 years of experience, Masses wants to develop his long-standing project, however, the equipment that he has is old and worn out due to daily use but he cannot afford a new set. 

“in our days the generator fees is consuming our inccome but we cannot work without it”.

Masses decided to work on an alternative plan in order to reduce this attrition and bring a generator that helps him increase his income from the project, and he also applied for the support of the necessary equipment.

Masses overcame all the difficulties he faced in his field of work economically and even in terms of the crisis he went through after his house was damaged by the earthquake, which was severe damage that prevented him from returning to his home, which is considered unsafe for hsbitstion to this day, All these difficulties increased his determination to move forward with a smile of hope facing all life challenges.

Shant is a passionate person, aspiring to be proficient in his work, self-reliant, in order to secure a decent life for his family; Shant is married and a father of two, he works day and night for the wellness of his family.

Shant works in the profession of car spraying, and has extensive experience in this field, he currently works in a workshop but the equipment is not his, and the wage he receives is not commensurate with his experience and insufficient for the requirements of life.

During war people are exposed to many material and physical losses, this period was difficult for Shant, he lost his shop and equipment. His mother, father and sister were injured in the war, Shant wants to be independent in his work, so the idea of applying for his own project through the Micro Projects Support was a ray of hope, Shant started his project and is now working with passion and enthusiasm in order to achieve his life goals and take good care of his loving family.

Jihad, a devoted family man with over 35 years of experience in his aluminum workshop, faced many challenges during the war in 2011. Alongside his wife and son, who aspired to become a doctor and was a third-year medicine student at the University of Homs, they were forced to leave their home in Bab Al-Sebaa neighborhood and find refuge in Al-Kafroun village.

For nearly a decade, Jihad worked as an assistant in a modest aluminum workshop to sustain his family while living in Al-Kafroun. However, the desire to provide a better future for his son pushed them to return home in 2020. Their house had been affected by the war, but with the support of their church, they managed to repair it and establish a stable life.

Upon returning to Homs, Jihad faced a different set of challenges. His machinery and equipment had deteriorated over the years, and unreliable electricity supply added to his struggles. Thankfully, a friend introduced him to the Micro Projects Program, motivating him to apply for assistance in revitalizing his workshop, his sole means of providing for his beloved family. This opportunity held the promise of a brighter future for Jihad, his wife, and their dedicated son pursuing his dream in medicine.

Anas, a determined young man, faced numerous challenges on his journey to success. Leaving school since the ninth grade, he entered the worklife to support his family consisting of his parents and sister. He tirelessly worked at various pastry shops, gathering valuable experience over the years.

In 2022, he realized his dream of opening his own pastry shop in Al-Adawia neighborhood. Despite the initial hurdles, he managed to purchase all the necessary equipment with the help of some relatives. Unfortunately, the cost of an electric generator remained out of reach, as he was struggling to repay the shop's debts.

Facing rising rental costs, Anas relocated his shop to Al-Hamidia neighborhood in 2023. However, the persistent electricity shortage continued to hinder the productivity. 

He applied to the Micro Projects Program for assistance, and his prayers were answered. He received an electric generator. With the newfound power source, Anas and his family now work together more efficiently, ensuring the success of their small business.

Anas's hard work and the support he received have allowed him to provide for his family independently, hoping for a better days to come their way.

Mahasen, a young and creative graphic designer, has always been known for her unique style in crafting souvenirs. With four years of experience, she specializes in transforming her sketched characters into beautiful small figures. Mahasen, who works from her home, balances between her artistic passion with her role as an employed architect at a company. She lives with her parents and two sisters in Al-Sabeel neighborhood in Homs.

However, she faced significant challenges that hindered her work. Her laptop's decreasing capacity couldn't keep up with her demanding tasks, leading to delays in delivering her projects to clients. Moreover, the big issue of power shortages in Homs, made it even harder to meet deadlines. Her digital drawing panel, a vital tool for her craft, also became worn out. 

In an attempt to overcome these obstacles, Mahasen applied to the Micro Projects Program. With the program's support, she received a brand-new laptop, a reliable battery, and a new digital drawing panel. These essential tools not only rekindled her creativity but also allowed her to support her family during these challenging times.

After Lamiaa's divorce in Lebanon, she returned to her hometown in Al-Qusayr, Homs, to stay with her elderly father. In 2003, she established her own sewing workshop, creating a stable source of income for herself. However, when the war erupted in 2012, she and her father lost everything and were forced to seek refuge with her brother in Al-Mouzeina village.

She became her father's primary caregiver as he battled severe illness. She devoted herself to his well-being until his passing in 2021. Determined to make her own path, she relocated to Homs city, where she secured a job in a sewing workshop with a monthly salary. She also utilized her old sewing machine at home for clothing repairs, but when there were designing and sewing demands, she used to bring them to the workshop, as her home equipment was limited.

Living independently in Homs, Lamiaa had the experience and skills necessary to succeed in her profession, but she lacked the means to acquire the essential equipment. Her life took a positive turn when she applied to the Micro Projects Program, and her application was approved. She received the support she needed in the form of sewing machines and a battery to work during electricity blackouts, empowering her to further her sewing business and achieve self-sufficiency.

Hanada is married to Frederic and the young couple lives in Qattinah village. With Frederic's heart condition limiting his ability to engage in any effort-demanding work, they established a small stationary store. Hanada, a dedicated 4th-year translation student, balanced her studies with the store's daily operations.

Their path hadn't always been easy. At one point, they sold everything, hoping to start anew abroad. Erbil was their first destination, aiming for a better life in Australia. Sadly, they faced setbacks, losing most of their savings, so they returned to Qattinah and used their remaining funds to open their current store.

In addition to offering stationery and printing services, Hanada and Frederic showcased their creative talents by crafting picture frames and children's drawing books. They also assisted university students with their research and graduation projects.

Inflation hit their micro-project hard, reducing their inventory. Aiming to support their family's sole source of income, Hanada turned to the Micro Projects Program for assistance, hoping to restock their store's goods and continue their journey of hope. 

Ranim, a dedicated mother of two, resides in Fairouza village, where she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey in 2020. She opened a cosmetics shop. Alongside her own business, she tirelessly works another job to increase the family's income. Her daily routine involves carrying a bag of makeup products to her workplace, where she sells to her colleagues.

Ranim's husband, Ram, battles diabetes, which led to the unfortunate amputation of his leg. Despite his condition, he works but his simple income as an employee barely covers his rising medical expenses. When Ranim initiated her shop, Ram's health was relatively stable. However, as his condition worsened, the mounting medical costs began to strain her small shop, combined by economic inflation.

She applied to the Micro Projects Program for assistance, hoping to safeguard her business. This program's support would not only offer relief to her struggling business but also ensure a good living for her children.

Fadi's life took a drastic turn due to the war in Homs. Forced to flee Al-Hamidia, his family settled down in Fairouza village. Fadi, once an employee in a quality control department, lost his job in 2011 when the war disrupted everything.

For years, he moved from one job to another, just to make ends meet. His determination led him to learn the gypsum board craft in 2020, where he mastered the skill. His engineering institute degree and AutoCAD experience further fueled his ambition, but the lack of equipment held him back from independence.

In 2023, Fadi decided to change his destiny. He applied for the Micro Projects Program, hoping for a chance to get his equipment. With this support, he could finally take control of his life, work independently, and provide for his family. 

Hadi, a devoted husband to Minas and a loving father to their baby boy Toni, faced financial challenges living with his family; his mother, brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces. His journey began when he completed his 10-year mandatory service and ventured into the world of floor tiling alongside his brother, despite having no prior experience.

Dreaming of a brighter future, he aspired to create opportunities for his family. However, his limited financial resources were a constant hurdle. Then, a friend introduced him to the Micro Projects Program, a beacon of hope.

He seized the opportunity and applied for a mini pickup truck, a project in itself. With this vehicle, he could transport and distribute goods, promising a steady income for his family. It was a small yet significant step towards achieving his dreams.

As Hadi embarked on this new path, his determination and the support of his loved ones would be the driving force behind his journey to provide a better life for Minas, Toni, and their big family. 

Lina's life turned upside down when her husband Fadi was kidnapped and never found again, leaving her as the sole provider for their two daughters. She didn’t give up and continued her career as a school teacher since 2003. However, it became evident that to secure a dignified life for her daughters, she needed an additional source of income.

In 2013, she decided to become a seamstress, repairing clothes from her humble home. She used an old, manual sewing machine, as she couldn't afford the more modern equipment that could have expanded her small-business. The limitations of her outdated machine hindered her ability to take on more jobs and, consequently, affected her income.

Hope came along when Lina applied for assistance from the Micro Projects Program; she saw it as a chance to develop her source of livelihood and provide her daughters with the life they deserve. With the program's support, Lina upgraded her sewing equipment, allowing her to take on more work and increase her income.

For over two decades, Ghayath had dedicated his life to the gypsum board craftsmanship. A devoted husband and father of three ambitious daughters pursuing higher education, his dreams for his family were boundless. Yet, his journey had its share of hardships.

In the wake of a devastating war, Ghayath found himself lacking essential resources vital for his work. The tools and equipment he needed were distant dreams, and the absence of a reliable power source, like an electric generator, cast a shadow over his opportunities.

Despite these adversities, he often collaborated with fellow craftsmen to ensure a steady income for his family. However, he longed for the independence that owning the necessary equipment would bring.

His fortunes changed when he applied to the Micro Projects Program. With hope in his heart, he sought assistance to acquire the tools of his trade, an electric generator, and a ladder. These essentials not only improved his work but also transformed his life. With newfound resources at his disposal, Ghayath saw his income rise, securing a brighter future for his daughters.

Kamil, a retired university teacher with a wealth of knowledge in electronics maintenance, faced a challenging journey with his family during the war. They were displaced from their home in Homs city to their village, Autan, where they resided for nine long years. In 2020, they finally returned home, repaired their house, and began rebuilding their lives in Homs.

In 2022, Kamil decided to reopen his maintenance workshop to provide an extra income for his family. Unfortunately, he had to shut it down after just three months due to the high rental costs. Undeterred, he continued offering his expertise from home, taking phone orders and visiting clients in need.

Despite having only basic tools like pliers, screwdrivers, and wrenches, his skills shone brightly. As a former teacher and a graduate of the electrical institute, he was well-equipped to handle the demands of his trade. He borrowed additional equipment from a friend to meet his clients' needs.

In a hopeful turn of events, Kamil applied for assistance from the Micro Projects Program. His request was centered on acquiring the necessary equipment and an electric generator to expand his business further, ensuring a better livelihood for his family.

Soubhi's journey in the floor grinding and polishing industry began in 1972, creating a wealth of experience for him over the years. He and his wife, Salam, a retired teacher, raised three sons despite facing numerous challenges. Their life took a tragic turn in 2013 when they were displaced from their home village, Al-Dwair, due to the ongoing war, which caused him to lose three floor grinding and polishing machines, along with all their belongings when their house was stolen.

Initially settling in Al-Nassra village, near Homs, the family later moved to Homs city in 2019.

Soubhi, however, remained resilient, continuously working various construction jobs to save up for a new machine. He finally managed to acquire one, but the high cost of an electric generator left him dependent on sporadic grid electricity, available for just four hours a day.

He applied to the Micro Projects Program for an electric generator. This lifeline would not only boost his productivity but also guarantee a better income for his family. 

Basil Kasoha is a young man in his thirties, who has been burdened with the worries and responsibilities of a harsh life for years.

At the beginning of the Syrian crisis, he was called for military service, in which he spent 9 years of his life, and was full of pain and difficulties, especially in 2012, when his father was martyred, leaving the family heartbroken and sad.

In the year 2020, Basil was discharged from military service and returned to his home seeking to have a new start, but unfortunately, he began a new chapter of suffering in his life, especially since he proposed to a girl, hoping to start a family with her. However, with the harsh reality of living in Syria, as despite of all his efforts, he barely could afford to buy the simplest necessities for his new home without being able to save any money for his marriage.

During the past three years, Basel worked hard as a sales representative, merchandise distributor, and pick-up driver, trying his best to provide as much income as possible to support his family.

He was alone in the face of all challenges but kept his strong will and determination to improve his reality.

This self-made young man deserved the support from Hope Center to buy a pickup car as his own project that would help him obtain a greater income in the hope of improving his financial circumstances and helping him get married and have the family he dreams of.

Ibtisam Haddad began her career in the cosmetic field in 2010, after attending several make-up and tattoo courses, she started to work at beauty salons but in 2017 she had her son Milad who was born with Down syndrome which made it difficult for her to continue working, so she stayed in the house to take care of her son who needed a lot of care and love.

During that period, her marriage deteriorated and she and her husband got divorced which was very tough for Ibtisam because she became responsible for the house expenses in addition to her son’s medication. Ibtisam’s financial condition was very bad and she started to seek help from her family and friends, even her house owner felt sympathy toward her and didn’t take the house rent. She felt sorry for herself so she decided to return to work in order to preserve her dignity and handle the livelihood demands without the need of anyone’s help.

Working at a salon was not useful for Ibtisam because of her son’s condition so she started working tirelessly from house receiving her customers and trying her best to expand her work and get more income but the tools she had were simple and consumed and needed a strong push to move forward.

After applying at the Hope Center, Ibtisam was supported with makeup and tattoo tools in order to improve her home-based work so she could afford the daily living demands and look after her son at the same time.

From a very modest but close-knit family who works to live, Beshara Al-mhanna was raised to become a hardworking man who started working at a young age to support his family.

He used to work in delivering vegetables on the village-city road but during wartime, the road became insecure and he decided to move to Damascus to study and work there. Beshara was a big-sized young man and as a result, he was exempted from military service so he kept working as a driver on different vehicles delivering any order to afford his living and support his family in the village.

Beshara was good at what he did but the high car rent wasn't sufficient to cover the increasing costs of living so he applied to the Micro-project program for the pick-up truck project planning to use the truck to deliver furniture and goods.

Considering his health condition, and determination to work, Beshara was supported to have the project he sought and he is now working his best to have more orders so that he can improve his financial condition and secure his family with a decent living.

Maher Aljamal is 41, married, and has three daughters Samira, Sham, and Naya. He lives with his family and elderly mother in a two-rooms old Arabic house in Bab Toma.

Before the crisis, Maher worked as a salesman in a company but during wartime, the company was closed so he started to work in a kiosk selling cigarettes until 2019 when he was called for the military service in Idlib where he was exposed to sectarian disturbances that affected his psychological condition. As a result, after his discharge in 2021, he decided to consider traveling abroad so he went to Lebanon trying to travel to France but his request was rejected while the economic condition in Lebanon was getting worse so he went back to Syria after spending all his savings.

Upon his return, Maher started to work as a driver with Nuns then he rented a car to work on delivering orders to restaurants and shops but the income was barely enough to cover the high car rent not to mention the living expenses or his daughter’s education.

With the help of Hope Center, Maher was supported to purchase his own Mini-van which he will use to transport school students and employees in addition to other orders hoping that this project will form a positive shift in Maher’s living conditions.

“It all started with a video on YouTube”, this is how Samar Alzawahra explained her passion for her work. She is an English teacher who was living with her mother and siblings in Daraa governorate until 2016 when violent incidents increased in the city and they faced daily threats, so they decided to move to Damascus and rented a small flat in ALdwalaa.

She was transferred to a school in Damascus and continued her work as a teacher and was trying her best to support her family with the livelihood demands especially since her father was deceased, her mother was old and sick and her brother suffered from Down's syndrome.

However, deep inside Samar had this interest in art; so one day she was watching videos on YouTube about Epoxy art piece making and loved the idea so she kept watching these videos, then she decided to try making these pieces herself with the help of a friend and succeeded in making beautiful pieces that everybody loved.

During that very year, Samar made many epoxy pieces, managed to participate in galleries, and started to get customers. At this point, she felt that the work became bigger than her modest ability because her tools were simple and not proper for such orders.

After getting support from Hope Center, Samar was so grateful because she is now able to expand her work and get more orders which will lead to improving her income and her living conditions on the long term. 

With great faith and a smile, Rabei Marta faced all the misfortunes in his life, trusting that God wouldn’t let him down.

The 32-year-old man lives with his mother and brother in a small modest flat in Jaramana, his father passed away when he was still a child and he had to share the responsibilities with his brothers from a very young age.

At the beginning of the war in 2011, Rabei was called for military service where he spent nine hard years that left him injured and broke.

However, Rabei didn’t hesitate after his discharge from service to start working immediately because his elder brother Maher had been exposed to a Cerebral hemorrhage that affected his movement ability, so Rabei had to take care of Maher’s family especially since he had special needs child that needs a lot of care and medication, while his other brother Ramy has also had to undergo heart surgery and needs daily medicines which made him unable to do any hard physical work. 

Despite all the calamities, Rabei worked hard at a private company in packaging aid kits and distributing them, but the income was barely enough to cover his daily expenses leaving him with little to support his brothers. Rabei didn't lose hope and decided to apply at the Micro project center for the Pick-up car with an idea of using it in delivering products and goods.

Supporting Rabei to purchase the pick-up car was the best that could be given to this fighter who was holding such great responsibilities and at the same time thanking God for everything in his life. Hopefully, this project will provide him with an opportunity to increase his income and improve his living conditions.

At a young age, Farhan Maher had to face great responsibilities as his father was exposed to a bus accident that left him paralyzed so he became the man of the house and responsible for his sisters, his mother, and his disabled father.

As a result, he had to work after school to afford the living expenses and after he graduated from the Financial and Banking Institute, he started to work as a mobile phone maintenance worker. Soon after he was able to save money and start his maintenance center in partnership with his friend in Damascus but things didn’t go as well as expected due to the increasing prices and high rent, so he returned to maintenance work at a mobile phone store in Jaramana. 

Farhan wasn’t satisfied with the low percentage he was gaining from work because it wasn’t enough to cover the high costs of living or his father’s medication and was seeking any chance to have his own project so when he learned about the Micro Project program in Damascus, he didn’t hesitate to apply for support.

Considering his long experience in Maintenance and his strong will and determination, Farhan was supported with maintenance tools and materials in addition to some accessories to have his own center in Jaramana with all hope that this project will help stabilize his financial condition and make him able to take care of his family’s demands.

In a small humid basement, Yazan, his mother, sister, and his brother’s family were living and working together, struggling to afford their daily food under very difficult circumstances. 

Yazan started to work from a young age at a Barbershop trying to learn a career and secure his living at the same time, but in 2012 he was called for military service which lasted for nine hard years far from his family and unable to support them during the severe years of war.

However, in 2021 Yazan was discharged and returned home to find out that the financial condition of his family was extremely bad and that his mother had to work as a cleaner to afford the living demands.

He felt bad and started immediately to work and support his family but the low income he got wasn't sufficient to meet the increasing costs of living making Yazan and his family struggle financially. 

“Having this project is priceless for me because I am able now to work hard to increase my income so that my mom can rest”, With these words, Yazan expressed his gratitude for having support from the micro project center to have his own Barbershop. Hopefully, this young man will have a better income to improve his living conditions and preserve his dignity. 

Kinda was living with her family and her mother in Harasta town in the countryside of Damascus where she worked as a teacher and in the afternoons at a sewing workshop with her mother while her husband was working as a goldsmith. Kinda and her family were living in comfort and security until the beginning of the Syrian war which turned their life upside down.

At the very beginning of the war, Harasta town was surrounded by armed forces and soon they captured the city and terrified the citizens including Kinda and her family who were trapped in the house for five days until they managed to flee with only their clothes.

Kinda lost a lot during the incidents including her house, and her sewing workshop, and her husband lost his goldsmith workshop in addition to six kilos of gold but they were thanking God for their survival and didn’t mind starting from scratch in a different place and under difficult circumstances.

Through her strong determination, Kinda was able to start a small workshop from the house and at the same time was giving private English lessons to kids while her husband worked at a café shop and both were trying their best to afford the living demands without needing anyone's help, but with the continuous electricity cuts, Kinda endeavors to work more hours and increase her income seemed to be impossible.

With the help of Hope Center, Kinda was supported to purchase a lithium battery that will enable her to work more than eight hours daily which will enable her to get more orders from customers leading to improving her income and her living conditions on the long term.

From a close-knit family, Bassel Alkholy was raised to become a determined young man who started working at a young age to support himself and his family.

He used to live with his family in Al-Zabadani area in the countryside of Damascus and after turning 18, he started to work with his brothers as a plumber in the same area and at the same time enrolled at the faculty of law dreaming of becoming a lawyer in the future.

However, during wartime, the area was affected badly by the armed groups' attacks which left most of its houses in ruins including Bassel’s, and as a result, he and his family were forced to leave their hometown and move to Damascus to start from scratch with no house, work or money.

Unfortunately, his father's heart was too weak to handle all those losses so he passed away in 2013 leaving his family grieving their great loss. Soon after, Bassel was called for the reserve military service where he spent three fateful years and was discharged as a result of an injury in the head and belly.

Bassel went back home with the same determination to work and handle his living expenses so he worked again with his brothers but the income was too little to be divided and Basel was in dire need of starting his own project as he was responsible for his sick mother and his sister.

After applying at the Micro project center, Bassel was supported to have the plumping equipment needed to be independent and have his own source of income hoping that this project would help in securing a decent livelihood for him and his family. 

The ten years of military service that Yazan spent, made his life empty of any experiences or certificates, yet, he didn’t hesitate after his discharge in 2021 to start working as a delivery boy at a restaurant to afford his living and support his sick mother.

Yazan Basha is a 31-year-old man, single, lives with his mother in a small flat in Jaramana, his parents are separated and his older siblings are married which made Yazan hold the responsibility from a young age but he had no time to work or gain any experience because he was called for military service and the only thing that he gained from the service other than facing death or fear is how to drive as he was a vehicle driver for his ten years of service.

However, in the past two years, Yazan has been doing his best to afford the livelihood demands but his mother was battling cancer which burdened him with the high cost of treatment and daily medicine.

With his great faith and determination, Yazan applied for the pick-up car project benefiting from his driving experience and planning to work on delivering products to shops and markets, and his request was approved as he was supported to purchase a pick-up car with all hope that this project will help Yazan to improve his living conditions and afford his mother's medication demands.

Sleiman Alzeidan is 36 and lives alone in a rented room in Jaramana, his parents were divorced when he was a child and he lived for a long period of his life as a lonely boy with no support.

Sleiman learned how to work and depend on himself to handle his living expenses so he started working at a goldsmith workshop at a young age. However, during wartime, this career became unprofitable like before so he worked as a private driver taking passengers to Lebanon but due to the border’s closure as a result of the coronavirus epidemic, his work also stopped.

Sleiman didn’t accept to stay jobless and decided to work as a taxi driver, and in his spare time, he worked at a laser cutting workshop to afford his living and was always seeking to have better income hoping that in the future he could be able to get married and have the family he was deprived of.

Unfortunately, this simple dream was getting far day after day because of the increasing costs of living, making it hard for Sleiman to afford his daily food without being able to save for the future.

Sleiman was grateful after having the support from Hope Center to purchase his taxi because he found out that he is not alone in this cruel world and that this opportunity he got would be a huge step to providing him with a sustainable source of income that will improve his living and help him to establish his own family.
