Zawin is a hardworking person who strive for his family; his wife and two sons.

Zawin has been working in the production and upholstery of cars since 2005 and has added through his experience in the production of Arab Majlis seating. Zawin had to make a lot of sacrifices in his work, 5 years ago the place where he works was exposed to a fire that resulted in the loss of all existing equipment and goods. 

Living a decent life and supporting his family has become a constant struggle for Zawin, which forced him to borrow a machine from one of his friends in order for the family to survive, and he also works in a factory for the production and upholstery of car furnishing, his permanent goal in life is to obtain complete and permanent independence.

Zawin felt very grateful and joyful for the support, today he is motivated to achieve his goal in life and help his family to secure a dignified living. 

“Where words fail, music speaks.” That’s how George replied when we asked him about the reason behind his love for music. 

Since he was an 8-year-old, George was fascinated by music and the industry in general.

His parents decided to enroll him in a music institute where he chose to learn Cello, his love for music didn’t stop there, he used to go to his uncle’s studio to watch him produce music for many artists. After a short time, he started helping his uncle with his work for 15 years till the war started.

In 2011 George joined the army and served his country for 10 years, in this decade a lot changed; during this time, he lost many of his friends in the army and his family was in danger back home, it was very tough for him to go through all that by himself.

After finishing his service George found himself back at the starting point, not knowing what to do and where to head. Despite everything, he refused to give up and decided to follow his passion for music and try to turn it into a career.

With a big dream and lots of plans, he applied for the Micro-Projects program to get the support he needed to start. Now George has a small studio in which he records and produces music for many local artists.

George is married and has worked in the carpentry profession since childhood with more than 40 years of experience, he had a full workshop with a kit, but because of the war he lost the workshop with the entire equipment, unfortunately, he cannot return to his former work area because its still under control of armed groups.

During war his home was exposed to a shell explosion, which led to great damage to the house, as a result, the family was displaced for more than 10 years. 

Because of his great experience in His profession and his desire to develop his business, George applied to the Micro Projects in order to buy a machine that helps him save time and increase his income, George launched his project and added new models to his work that helped him bring new customers, which led to an increase in his monthly profits.

The Micro Projects Program was able to achieve one of George's goals, to help him strive to work harder and develop faster. 

Hilda is a lovely married woman who works in the church and her husband works as a driver for the church as well, because of the difficult life that Syrian families are going through, Hilda's family went through harsh conditions, which led to financial burdens, the earthquak made things worse because their house was greatly damaged.

when we are exposed to immense loss, we try to look for any small light in order to start a new chapter in life even if it is delayed; Hilda started working in knitting and she was sending the pieces that need a stitch and a knit to a sewing shop, as she does not have the necessary machines, which was for her a waste of time and great difficulty in receiving a larger number of customers, so Hilda decided to apply to the center to develop her small project in home sewing, in order to save time and increase her family's income.

Micro Projects Program was able to help Hilda to be able to take a step forward in her field of work and to overcome the difficulties she faces in her daily life. 

Elias is an example of the patient and strong father who faces life’s challenges for his family, Elias is married and has two sons, one of whom is serving in military, life challenged Elias differently at each stage, in the period of war he was displaced from his home, and his son was exposed to a war injury during his mandatory service time. 

Corona came to be one of the most difficult periods he went through; it kept him away from his work and family, but as Elias said:  "Our Mother Mary did not abandon me and helped me overcome this ordeal." Elias now works as a guard in a private school in Aleppo with a low salary, he wants to improve his income, so he decided to apply for a taxi, which he sees as a strong source in order to meet the requirements of life and his family's expenses.

At the end of the meeting Elias said that his dream is to be able to buy a taxi so he can be more financially independent, and he achieved this dream to be his first strong step in the face of life hardships.

The years of war were not easy for Fadi's family, however, it didn't stop them from pursuing their dreams of living in peace and stability. Fadi’s family suffered a lot during the war, especially in the first years as Fadi is a resident of the village of Al-Jadeeda in the Idlib countryside, which is one of the Christian villages in the city of Idlib. He was displaced with his family from the village after they were besieged by armed groups.

At the beginning of the war in 2011, Fadi volunteered to defend his land against the armed groups, then He was discharged from the army in 2021 after serving for ten years.

Before the war, Fadi worked in the aluminum craft in his village. He had a shop since 2004, but he lost it afyer leaving the village towards Kasab. In his last years of service, he worked in this profession during his spare hours intending to return to it after service..

After his discharge, he moved to Aleppo to settle there and began working in the aluminum field, but his income was not enough to secure the family’s needs, and he strived hard to start his project to secure a sufficient source of income for his family.

The Micro Projects Program was able to fulfill this family's dream of stability, and Fadi now has his own shop, which will enable him to provide a decent life for his family.

Elias is a strong man who defied the difficulties of life for the sake of his family’s happiness despite all the harsh circumstances he went through. 

Elias is married and has three children, he suffered a lot during the war; he had a taxi in 2014, but unfortunately it was destroyed by a shell in 2016, despite the difficulty of the situation he was able to overcome this incident for the sake of his children and started working as a driver for a local institution with a modest salary.

Elias held-on to hope, his many losses during the war did not disappoint him, and despite the suffering of life, he was not satisfied with his little income, he kept searching for an opportunity to improve his situation and a ray of hope that would change his life; for him it was a taxi that he would work on after his shift to help him secure a better income, Elias applied for micro projects and upon approval his joy was indescribable. Today Elias looks forward to starting a new life chapter full of hope and blessings.

Naeem is an example of strong personality who will face crises with positive adaptation without suppression or confusion, married and has two sons, he works in the field of sanitary installations, solar energy installation and electricity extension.

Naeem tried to develop himself in his domain of work despite all the difficulties and challenges he faced, he is a creative person who added with his experience of more than 15 years working in the field of central heating, he rented a shop in order to start a stable life and a small family. 

Despite many difficulties and the war that hit Aleppo, Naeem did not leave the city and remained working hard to secure a good future for his children, his house was damaged by the earthquake and he did not despair and was able to restore it.

Naeem applied for the necessary equipment which will help him increase his income and secure the needs of his family. He believes that everything will turn out for the best, and that tomorrow is more beautiful, Hopefully this project will be the beginning of beautiful days for him and his family.

Samar is a mother of three children and a clinical nutritionist, she obtained her degree in food technical engineering from the city of Aleppo, and works in the field of food engineering in several clinics affiliated with the churches. 

Samar is a persistent woman; despite all the difficulties and challenges, she completed her studies during war, and did not give up her childhood dream. She had a strong desire to open her own center, specializing in following up the conditions of pregnant women and also cases of growth in children, diabetes, in addition to Botox injections in the stomach to treat obesity. 

The war was harsh on Samar and her family, in 2013 her husband was kidnapped and they had tp pay a ransom of  5000$, her husband's factory was robbed in 2014, the family was also displaced to Latakia because their area of residence was unsafe, Samar did not despair despite all the hardships, she was able to work in the National Hospital in Latakia for 3 years and then returned to Aleppo in 2019 

Samar applied to the center to get support for her project with the needed devices. The new phase in Samar's life has now begun with ambition and determination to continue her passion in life

Dr. Ghassan have been working in the clinic for more than 30 years, he has extensive experience in the field of dentistry, his work was greatly affected during the war because his place was exposed to a lot of shells, and when the area became safe, he decided to develop his clinic's devices because the equipment was worn-out that it became dilapidated.

The earthquake destroyed all Ghassan’s dreams for the enhancement of his clinic and his house from which he and his family were able to get out safe and sound, and because life must go on, Ghassan decided to submit an application in order to develop his project with support from the Micro Projects.

Ghassan held-on to hope despite all the difficulties of life that he faced in the past, the strength that he possesses despite all the challenges and crises that he went through, his patience and will can overcome every painful hardship.

Dr. Ghassan launched his project with the new devices that helped him develop the clinic and achieve part of his dreams that he patiently longed for. 

Since childhood, Masses has been ambitious snd creative, he works in the field of women's hairdressing, his profession depends on good taste in order to satisfy customers, he has practiced this profession since childhood with at least 30 years of experience, Masses wants to develop his long-standing project, however, the equipment that he has is old and worn out due to daily use but he cannot afford a new set. 

“in our days the generator fees is consuming our inccome but we cannot work without it”.

Masses decided to work on an alternative plan in order to reduce this attrition and bring a generator that helps him increase his income from the project, and he also applied for the support of the necessary equipment.

Masses overcame all the difficulties he faced in his field of work economically and even in terms of the crisis he went through after his house was damaged by the earthquake, which was severe damage that prevented him from returning to his home, which is considered unsafe for hsbitstion to this day, All these difficulties increased his determination to move forward with a smile of hope facing all life challenges.

Shant is a passionate person, aspiring to be proficient in his work, self-reliant, in order to secure a decent life for his family; Shant is married and a father of two, he works day and night for the wellness of his family.

Shant works in the profession of car spraying, and has extensive experience in this field, he currently works in a workshop but the equipment is not his, and the wage he receives is not commensurate with his experience and insufficient for the requirements of life.

During war people are exposed to many material and physical losses, this period was difficult for Shant, he lost his shop and equipment. His mother, father and sister were injured in the war, Shant wants to be independent in his work, so the idea of applying for his own project through the Micro Projects Support was a ray of hope, Shant started his project and is now working with passion and enthusiasm in order to achieve his life goals and take good care of his loving family.

Siham, a resilient woman from the village of Qattinah, is a devoted wife and loving mother. Her two children, a daughter and a son, both battle with the challenges of paralysis in their lower extremities. In 2020, with their hard-earned savings, Siham and her retired husband embarked on a modest journey by opening a stationery store.

Their beginning was simple, but it promised them a life of dignity. The entire family collaborated to ensure the success of their project, with her son taking up the responsibility of the store's management. Together, they faced each day's challenges with unwavering determination.

Yet, the severe inflation began to make its negative effects on their cherished endeavor. The escalating prices made it increasingly difficult to keep their store stocked with essential goods.

In this trying times, Siham reached out to the Micro Projects Program, seeking support to safeguard their family's sole source of livelihood. With the support, she hoped to weather the storm of inflation, ensuring the store's sustainability and securing her family's future.

For over four decades, Issam has dedicated his life to the profession of Formwork Carpentry. Once, he possessed the essential tools of his trade, including wood planks and a trusty winch. However, the ravages of war stole most of his equipment.

He persevered with the help of fellow craftsmen and friends, sharing their equipment and precious remaining planks. But as time passed, those planks wore thin. High prices, lack in job opportunities, and a poor supply of wood left him in a dire financial situation. Trying to keep his craft alive, he had to rent the materials he needed, further straining his finances.

Issam's wife, Eva, toiled tirelessly at a sewing workshop to support their three children's education. Meanwhile, his mini-winch had also stopped due to frequent blackouts.

Hope arrived when he applied for assistance from the Micro Projects Program. With the support, he secured the essential wood planks and an electric generator. This newfound independence promised not only increased productivity but also the prospect of a stable income. Issam could finally pursue his craft without the burden of borrowing or renting equipment, bringing relief to his family and a better livelihood for their children. 

With 8 years of experience, Hani was an active member of the photographers' union, but his old camera and limited equipment posed challenges during the economic crisis. His struggle to meet the growing demands of clients left him feeling inadequate.

As a single man supporting his mother, his family depended on him after his father's passing, and his siblings had started their own lives. In pursuit of his passion, Hani traveled to Lebanon in 2015, where he worked at a restaurant and at the same time, honed his photography skills and got the camera that he still uses till now. 

Upon his return in 2020, he opened a studio in Fairouza village couple years later, establishing a presence on social media to showcase his work. However, he faced a roadblock in keeping up with rapidly evolving photography technology. That's when he applied to the Micro Projects Program, hoping for support to upgrade his equipment.

Hani's dreams extend beyond photography; he aspires to build a brighter future for himself and his mother. With the assistance of the program, he aims to enhance his craft and provide a better life for his family, illustrating that with determination, one can overcome even the most challenging circumstances. 

Naram and his wife Souraya, in addition to his elderly mother, live in Fairouza village, after they have faced significant challenges since being displaced from Homs city due to the war. He is a dedicated carpenter with his own workshop, but he had been struggling with the lack of electricity in their area. Frequent blackouts hindered his work, affecting his income and livelihood.

Recognizing the need for a solution, he applied to the Micro Projects Program for assistance. Thanks to the program, he was able to obtain an electric generator and essential tools. This crucial support not only improved his carpentry business but also enhanced the family's living conditions.

Now, with a newborn baby in their care, Naram and Souraya are determined to provide a bright future for their child. The generator and tools have empowered the skilled carpenter to work more efficiently, ensuring a stable income and a better life for his growing family. 

Habsa and her family have faced many challenges in their journey from Al-Jabriyah village to Homs city. When they were displaced during the war in 2011, they had to leave behind their home in Al-Sabeel neighborhood in Homs.

In 2013, Habsa opened a small stationary store in Al-Jabriyah village, renting a place to make ends meet. The store became a lifeline for her family, as both of her sons worked at a restaurant while studying. However, in 2018, the shop owner decided to sell the place, forcing the family to return to Homs.

Back in Homs, she reopened her stationery store, using the equipment and goods she had from the village. Things were going well until her main printer broke, and repairing it seemed impossible due to their limited resources. This setback greatly affected their profits, putting their livelihood and small business at risk.

Habsa applied to the Micro Projects Program, and with the provided support, she managed to repair the broken equipment and expand her store's inventory. This assistance not only saved her business but also provided hope and stability for her family's future. 

Maria, an English translation graduate, dedicated eight years of her life to teaching English at an institute. However, in 2021, an unfortunate foot injury and some shoulder problems forced her to step away from her beloved profession. She shared her home with her father and younger sister, but the family had already endured the loss of her mother to cancer.

Her father managed a small mini-market, but when his health took a turn for the worse, she stepped up to keep the family afloat. Taking care of the responsibilities of the mini-market and offering private lessons at home, she did her best to make ends meet.

Times grew tough as inflation negatively affected their income. The added burden of power outages left their shop's refrigerator empty and inoperable. To save their only source of livelihood, Maria turned to the Micro Projects Program for assistance.

With hope in her heart, she applied for essential food commodities and goods to restock the shelves of their mini-market. She also sought a solar power system to overcome the electricity shortages. With the support, Maria fought to preserve her family's small business and secure a brighter future for her father and sister. 

Bassel, a hardworking farmer from Qattinah village, shoulders the responsibility of providing for his family of five. His brother, bravely battling cancer, is the sole provider for his family of three. Together, they persevere through challenging times.

At home, Bassel resides with his wife, Juliette, who earns a modest income, and their three children. To make ends meet, he works as a driver, ensuring an extra source of income.

Their land, planted with vegetables and wheat, is a vital lifeline. A well and pond facilitate watering. However, the expenses of plowing and spraying the land became an overwhelming financial burden.

In their quest for support, Bassel sought assistance from the Micro Projects Program. With the assistance, he acquired a mini-cultivator, a sprayer, and a weed cutter. These tools are now the cornerstone of hope for both his and his brother's families, ensuring their livelihoods sustainability. 

Laurence and his parents moved to Fairouza village after the war, in 2018, he returned from Lebanon, where he spent 5 years working as a chef, and took the responsibility of running his father's mini-market in Al-Hamidia neighborhood, Homs, which was stolen and left in ruins during the war. 

He repaired and reopened the shop, offering many food commodities, in addition to dairy products, prepared meals, ice cubes, and ice cream. But a persistent challenge was the limited hours of electricity, impacting the perishable goods stored in his refrigerator.

In an effort to overcome this hurdle, Laurence applied to the Micro Projects Program for a solar power system. This innovation not only ensured the preservation of his stock but also lit up his sign, guiding customers to his shop in the dark.

As Laurence builds his future with his fiancée, his micro-project serves as a lifeline for his parents and his future family, illuminating a path of hope amidst adversity. 

Forced to leave their home in Al-Qusayr due to the ravages of war, Mouna and her husband Ibrahim found themselves in Homs with their four children, three of whom had traveled to Lebanon in search of a brighter future. As if the challenges of displacement weren't enough, Ibrahim's heart problems left him unable to work.

In 2014, the selfless mother made a bold decision to support her family. She rented a small shop and began selling dairy products, drawing from her past experience with a dairy shop in their village. However, her micro-project faced a daunting obstacle. The unreliable power supply in Homs meant that two of her shop's refrigerators remained shut down, resulting in substantial losses of perishable goods.

For Mouna, the Micro Projects Program was a great opportunity. It offered her the chance to revive her family's main source of income by providing a reliable power source. With the installation of a solar power system, her shop thrived once more, ensuring that her daughter could continue her science studies and that her family had a secure livelihood. 

After enduring the horrors of the cruel war that affected her family's home in Al-Qusayr village, Abir, her husband Badri, and their three sons sought refuge in Lebanon before eventually returning to Homs. Together with her sister, they found solace in a rented apartment, attempting to rebuild their lives from the ashes of destruction.

Life has not been easy for this family; Badri, the bread distributor, not only carries the burden of providing for his loved ones but also fights a daily battle with heart disease, requiring costly medications that add to their financial strain.

In an attempt to improve their situation, Abir embarked on a simple yet ambitious venture in February 2023; a small vegetable shop. The dire financial circumstances left them unable to afford their eldest son's education, and he now stands beside his mother. Previously, she worked in the dairy industry, but the sudden death of her mother and a broken refrigerator forced her to halt that endeavor when her children were still young.

Determined to improve her family's life and inspired by the absence of any dairy shop in the region, she made a courageous decision. She decided to reintroduce dairy products to her shop's offerings. 

Recognizing the potential in Abir's dedication and her willingness to revive the dairy business, she applied to the Micro Projects Program. With the support, she aimed to acquire a refrigerator along with a solar power system to ensure a sustainable future for her enterprise, in addition to the essential requirements of her project.

In the face of war's cruelty, Abir's unwavering spirit prevails. Her dairy shop becomes an example of hope and resilience, illuminating a path of renewal for her family in Homs.

Kinda, a skilled nail care specialist, embarked on her journey in the beauty industry after three years of dedicated work at a salon. She decided to enhance her expertise by attending a nail care training course. However, lacking the necessary tools and equipment, she joined two salons, earning a percentage of the profits to support her husband, Hussam, who had a modest income working as an employee and a driver. Their life was centered in a rented house, and they aspired to improve their circumstances.

With over 7 years of experience, Kinda had a dream to become a partner in her cousin's hair salon, focusing on nail care. To achieve this dream and create a better life for her family, she turned to the Micro Projects Program for assistance in acquiring her own nail care kit. With the program's support, she can now work independently, contributing significantly to improving her family's situation while pursuing her passion for nail care.

Tareiz El-Shamas is a resilient woman who faced life's challenges with a strong heart and unwavering determination. Through the ups and downs of her marriage, which culminated in divorce in 2007, Tareiz embarked on a new journey, taking full responsibility for her two children, Tala and Issa. Despite the setbacks, she didn't hesitate to turn her passion and talent for cooking into a source of income.

Tareiz quickly garnered admirers with her delicious cooking, leading to her being hired as a cooking instructor for several associations and organizations. In 2012, Tareiz faced a tragedy as her ex-husband took her children away to Sweden, cutting her communication with them, but she held her deep sorrow inside her heart while tirelessly continuing her work.

Her motivation prompted her to attend multiple courses ranging from English language to nursing, life skills, first aid, and project management, utilizing every chance for self-development. Her immense maternal love translated into volunteering for a humanitarian project for cancer patients, where she joyfully prepared the healthiest and most nourishing meals for them.

with the economic downturn in the past few years and the rising of living costs in Syria, Tareiz resolved to redouble her efforts. She began accepting home-cooked meal orders, striving to secure a dignified livelihood.

When Tareiz learned about the Micro-Project program in Damascus, she wasted no time in applying for support to establish her own kitchen, where she could pursue her passion for cooking and attain independence in her work.

Today, having received the support she sought, Tareiz feels gratitude, having achieved her biggest dreams. Her journey is a testament to the power of resilience, determination, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity. Tareiz El-Shamas stands as an inspiration for courage and perseverance.

Hani Al-Btros is a humourous and optimistic man, originally from Egypt but moved to Syria in 1998 and since then he worked, got married, and established a beautiful family.

Hani has always been skilled in sales and worked for several companies in that field, both as a sales representative and in marketing but during the crisis, work became less profitable and he started to suffer financial hardships so he decided to travel to Dubai seeking better job opportunities.

However, after spending few months in Dubai without finding a good job he decided to return to Syria looking for any chance to improve his income and be close to his family at the same time.

With a big smile on his face and great faith in his heart, Hani is working now on his own mini-van which he bought with the help of Hope Center, trying his best to improve his living circumstances. 

Jakleen's path took an unexpected turn when the crisis struck and she found herself living with her sister's family. In a cramped rental home, where space was scarce and comfort was a luxury, Jakleen's determination burned brighter than ever.

With her sister Josephine, a diabetic battling her own health struggles, and another sister Deema by their side, Jakleen embarked on a journey through the world of beauty working at a beauty salon trying her best to secure her living during the hardships and financial strains.

Despite the odds, Jakleen persevered. In 2017, she transitioned to freelance work, offering beauty services wherever she was needed. But the meager income barely sustained them in their dire circumstances.

Determined to break free from the confines of their cramped living space, Jakleen took a bold step forward. With courage and hope, she applied for support from the Hope Center in Damascus to launch her own beauty center.

With the Center's backing, Jakleen secured the tools and equipment needed to turn her dream into reality. Together with her experienced sister, they forged ahead, driven by the promise of stability and dignity.

For Jakleen, the beauty center wasn't just a business venture; it was a source of income, empowerment, and, above all, hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Since he was a child, Naser Al-mhanna suffered from his big size and he had to face many obstacles in his life as a result, but he didn’t hesitate at any time to work hard and take responsibility for himself and his family; he started to work as a truck driver delivering fruits and vegetables between his village to the city of Damascus. During work time, he was exempted from military service because of his big size but he didn’t mind the road risks to save his only source of income that was enabling him to afford the living demands of his family.

Unfortunately, in 2020 the truck owner wanted his car back which left Naser jobless, he tried to find a vehicle that fit his size but with no success, and faced many difficulties being employed at another job because being a driver is the only experience he had during the past years.

With the help of Hope Center, Naser was supported to buy his own taxi that would provide him with a source of income suitable to his experience and at the same time keep him away from poverty.

Determined to stay in the country, Wissam Al-Salameh decided to overcome all life obstacles and build his life in Syria.

He is 36, married, and has a lovely son called George. Before the war started, Wissam worked as a Barista in several restaurants in Bab Toma until 2011 when the security situation deteriorated and his work started to worsen so he decided to travel to Lebanon in order to have better job opportunities. He found a job as a gardener and kept working until 2015 then he went back to Syria to continue his life there but he was called for reserve service so he went back to work in Lebanon until 2019 when he returned to Syria again and with the money he has saved, he was able to buy a small house and get married. soon after he was employed as a Barman at a restaurant but his salary was way less than the living expenses so he quit and worked temporarily at his brother’s shop waiting for a chance to start his own project.

After applying at the Hope Center, Wissam was supported to start his own beverages' shop in Jaramana in order to give him the chance to build a career for himself hoping that this shop would provide him with a proper income to cover his family’s living and secure his future.

Antoun Haddad is a salesperson in his thirties who lives with his parents in an old Arabic house in Bab Touma. His father works at a Goldsmith workshop and his mother is a housewife, recovering at home after a long suffering from cancer.

He started working as a salesperson in 2018 at Nestlé company but since then, he has been seeking to have his own business so he opened a snack restaurant in Jaramana which only lasted for six months due to the high costs of materials and lack of fuel and electricity. As a result, he had to close the project and return to work in sales as an employee but his income wasn’t enough to cover the daily living expenses or his parents’ medication especially since his father had to undergo heart surgery and he was no longer able to do hard work.

Antoun was looking for an opportunity to have his own vehicle which he would use in distributing goods and products, the thing that would enable him to be independent and have a better income.

With the help of Hope Center, Antoun was supported to purchase his own pickup truck which was a lifetime chance for him and help to improve the living conditions of his family.

Having a life transformation from stability and security to a life full of dangers and fear is what Marwan and his family have been through during the past years.

For more than 12 years, Marwan has worked at Kabbour company as a private driver, having a good income and enjoying a comfortable lifestyle.

However, all of that changed after the outbreak of the war in Syria as the company he was working for was closed, while his house in Kashoul was exposed to daily shelling which forced them to move to his village and take shelter at his parents’ house, but soon after they survived an explosion while his wife was pregnant and the intense fear she felt made her lose her baby, which was a tragic shock for the family.

But it wasn’t the end of their calamities as Mawran was called for the reserved service and was sent to serve in Idlib facing constant dangers daily until his discharge in 2019.

All of those incidents didn’t affect Marwan's commitment and determination toward his family; he started to work as a taxi driver then when he learned about the micro project program, he applied for the taxi project because being a driver is all he had known in his life.

After being supported with the taxi, Marwan feels grateful because this project would be the perfect chance to have a proper income to improve his living conditions and preserve his dignity.

Michel Al-Tarsheh was a happy man, living with his family in a beautiful house in Adraa, Damascus suburbs, having a sustainable income, and enjoying a peaceful lifestyle until 2011, when everything turned upside down.

His first loss began when the armed groups attacked the area they were living in forcing them to flee under heavy shooting without being able to take any of their belongings. After that day Michel’s life changed completely as he rented a small flat in Jaramana for his family without being able to furnish it then he was informed that his house in Adraa was destroyed and all the furniture was stolen. His wife was diagnosed with cancer as she had to go through long and costly treatment that left Michel broken and ended with his wife’s death, the loss that affected him deeply. 

Michel found himself a widower in his sixties, responsible for his disabled daughter, working hard for long hours to put food on the table at the end of the day, he felt desperation sneaking into his heart but his strong faith led him to apply for the taxi project at the Micro project Center in Damascus.

Supporting Michel to have his own taxi not only provided him with a sustainable source of income, but also had a great impact on his mental health as he felt once again that he was productive and able to secure a decent living for his family.

Amjad Doumat's journey is one of determination and purpose, marked by his relentless pursuit of excellence in the medical field. Born in 1992, he embarked on a path that would lead him to become a specialist in otolaryngology.

The newlywed is yet to experience the joys of parenthood, residing in a rented home in Dwalaa. His professional journey began as a resident physician at the Red Crescent Hospital in 2019, following two years of service at a medical center in Jaramana from 2017 to 2019.

Devoted to his community, Amjad dedicated Wednesdays at the church to provide medical care to all in need. His commitment to serving others extended beyond his professional obligations, embodying the true essence of compassion.

As a newly married man, Amjad had obligations toward his family as well but within the devastated economic condition of the country, working in the hospital was no longer enough to cover the living expenses. Despite financial constraints, his unwavering resolve propelled him forward and with the support of Hope Center, Amjad's sought for an independent clinic specializing in otolaryngology became a reality, paving the way for the establishment of his own clinic by supporting him with all the required tools and equipment.

The assistance he got played a pivotal role in Amjad's journey, providing him with the resources to realize his dream and secure a decent living for his family.

Salem Al-Zawahra, 31, is living with his parents and brother in an old house in Kashkoul, he started his life as a hairdresser and stayed in the career until 2013 when he was called for military service, during which he was exposed to several injuries that caused him a back disc and infection leaving him with 30% disability and he was discharged from the service in 2020 as a result of his health condition.

Unfortunately, he was discharged during the coronavirus quarantine which made the chances of finding work almost non-existent, so he went to his village and worked with his cousin in grocery because in the crisis years, his family house and land were looted and destroyed by the armed gangs.

However, when the quarantine ended, Salem returned to Damascus and started working as a taxi driver with his brother trying to afford the minimum living demands.

Today he was supported to purchase his own taxi believing that this project is suitable for his health condition and at the same time it would provide him with a stable income to improve his financial condition.

Fadi is one of the skilled, determined men who works for his living and does not accept to lean on others' support. He is 36, single, and lives with his mother and brothers in a rented flat in Kashkoul. Fadi started his life as a plumber and didn’t mind doing any maintenance work to support his family but in 2012, he was called for military service where he spent the next nine years of his life.

He was discharged from the service in 2021 and was looking forward to building a life and a career so he enrolled in a Mobile Phone Maintenance course at a development institution, then he started to work in the field at a maintenance center in Kashkoul trying his best to gain the experience needed to start his own place because the salary he was taking was way far from the daily living expenses.

Thus, when he learned about the Micro-Project center in Damascus, he didn’t hesitate to apply, and considering his strong will, his love to work, and his experience in the field, he was supported with the equipment, tools, and some accessories to start his Mobile-phone maintenance center with all hope that this project will be the first step of building this man’s life and will help in preserving his dignity

Abdo was still in school when the war started, which affected his educational progress leading him to leave school and work at his uncle's goldsmith workshop until 2015, then when the work decreased, he moved between several jobs trying to handle his expenses and support his parents, but in 2017 he was called for military service so he decided to travel to Lebanon to continue working there because his family was depending on his support to survive.

In Lebanon, Abdo worked in the morning as a salesman and in the afternoon as an Auto mechanic and soon he learned this profession and became very skilled in it.

However, during the coronavirus epidemic, the situation in Lebanon deteriorated so he went back to Syria and started working as a mechanic using simple tools, and depending on his circle of friends and relatives to get work requests.

Abdo wanted to start his own Auto mechanic workshop but the high costs of equipment stood against this endeavor so he sought support from Hope Center.

Now, after having his own workshop, Abdo is so optimistic about the future, because he has become independent and able to improve his work and have a better income which will have a positive impact on his living situation.
