Many years ago, Hala and her husband Antoun decided to travel and start a new life in Damascus city hoping for better opportunities.
The couple had four children; 2 sons and 2 daughters, they lived happily in their house in Damascus until the cruel war started, and just like a lot of Syrian families, their fate was changed forever; the family's house was hit by a shell and burned to the ground, thankfully, no one got hurt, Hala and Antoun's only choice was to take their children seeking a safer place.
Their home village Sadad was the last resort to escape the dangers of war but, they barely stayed for a short period then the village was attacked by armed groups.
The family found themselves in a hard situation again; they fled to Fairouza village and the parents started searching for a way to provide for their big family, especially since their youngest son has special needs, and his condition requires special care, on the other hand, Antoun suffers from heart disease and he was looking for something suitable for his health condition and doesn't require much effort.
7 years ago, they heard about someone who wants to sell the goods in his stationery store, Hala and her husband immediately seized this chance and made a deal with the owner to rent the store, which has become the family's only source of livelihood. The couple learned the smallest details about this work and everything went very well.
In 2021, the project was heavily affected by the severe lack of electricity and lost most of its customers due to the old equipment, which limited the ability to provide the usual services and slowed down the pace of work.
After all these dramatic events they went through and in order to save the family's last hope in life, the selfless mother applied to the Micro Projects Program, aiming to ensure the stability they lost because of the war.
